GT Academy 2012 affecting network for GT5?

Ever since the new GT Academy was released the loading of it and GT5 has been horribly slow for me. Things such as entering GT Life or anything seasonal seem to just get stalled while my network light on my system blinks away. Could GT Academy 2012 be overloading Sony or PD's servers? Am I alone here or are others noticing this? Btw I have ruled out an issue on my end before posting this.

Yes its not just you my friend. Doing the latest TT was a much longer time than usual. Going to arcade mode was even a problem !:ouch:

Sometimes it is so bad I just turn the darn thing off. No good PD, no good. Maybe its just the networking major in me but you really should make sure your servers are up to snuff before you drop such things.

Not sure myself how long it's been going on but it DEFINITELY predates GT Academy 2012. I personally think the last patch wasn't perfect and the lack of a more recent one has only exacerbated the problem.

1. Make sure you're hardwired to your modem for best results. Skip routers.
2. Sync your trophies and clocks.
3. Clear your system cache in the game options.
4. Disable custom music.
5. Avoid mics.

I haven't really noticed a difference since GT Academy. But I know what you mean. GT5 can sometimes work really slow, especially when you want to access GT Life. It's the only game that does this since it's always comunicating with the PSN or PD's servers.

Sometimes GT5 will be terribly slow and most of the times it's fine, but again, in my case there hasn't been any significant change since GTA2012. Last time I had this problem was about a month ago bt it's been fine since.

Follow McLarenDesign's advice. Probably the most important points would be 1 and 3.

Geez, I just tried it a couple minutes ago to check out the new seasonals, I go to enter GT life and it just hangs while the network light chugs into oblivion. After a few MINUTES, I shut the game off and tried it again but same result. What a shame.

The thought has crossed my mind.
I have had lots of freezing and long loading times since GT Academy came out.
Also, the gameplay online seems to suffer.
I'm not sure but i have a suspicion the servers are overloaded.

to point 4, my game doesnt even play my music when online. Offline is fine, but i dont play it.
