Hi all

Any news if there will be a New Zealand academy this year, possibly part of the Australian academy?

I believe there was a New Zealand GT Academy in 2010 where the winner competed in the European finals, but there hasn't been one since.

No news at all, the general assumption is that there isn't going to be one this year, unfortunately. Unless I missed something, in which case @Louie_Schumii can fill you in. 👍

Hey Stuart. 2010 was the first and only one they had in New Zealand so far. Talked to some of Nissan Australia's PR team at the V8 Supercars at Pukekohe last year and they said the reason why they've waited so long to hold another Australian one was because of the less than ideal experience they had at the European finals at Silverstone.

Recently talked to a Nissan NZ marketing lady at an auto show last week and she said as far as she knows there aren't any plans for an NZ one this year - they're probably waiting to see how the Australian one goes and if that's successful maybe they'll bring it back next year 2015.

I golded all last years events, but never got the promised GT Academy car. :/
