GT Academy Prize Car Seasonal

Looking for a good setup for the TT. I'm guessing tuning it up and then power limiting is where a lot of the time comes from?

EDIT: seems to be making very little difference actually.

Just watched a few replays from the TT. Same old off track excursions going on. PD really needs to fix the penalty system or make better track boundaries for these TT's.

No engine mods but weight reduction I did a 1:44.893 moments ago I think I just have to practice if you will

Did a 1:44.008 with gear ratio set at a top speed of 220 gave me the acceleration I needed got the gold and leaving it at that.

After doing the race event upgraded, I turned all power options back to stock and did it easily (as has been posted here by others), but enjoyed the drive a hell of a lot more than the slippery little beastie it had become with the extra power.

And a favour to ask...can we have one TT discussion which end up going on about people slipping a little off track. I don't particularly care what anyone else does when they drive.

Its an open forum my friend, open to discuss anything GT5 related. Just commenting on the fact that PD needs to fix the problem. to make it a fair competition. You may not care, but others do. Trust me. I was not aware we could only talk about things approved by you. Must have missed that memo, lol.

+1 this. its a gt5 forum we discuss what we want about the game. even it it involves corner cutters. if you dont like then dont comment. not rocket science is it

Really I watched the replays and sort stuff all cutting on the tt I know this cause I watched with the intent of cutting said corners cause I was busting my butt to get a quick time.

I completely agree with you. Most of the people that rank high in these events are glitchers and exploiters, not true race drivers. It really places a hamper on legit racers that do the events in a legal manner. I'd say in a TT event, when at least one tire leaves the course or you hit a barrier (small tap or huge impact, doesn't matter), nullify the lap, even though the rules say at least two tires must remain on the track at all times. I'm just sick of people exploiting the penalty system to their benefit.

I think the problem resides in the track modelling as far as what's designated as on-track and off-track, as well as momentum (i.e. time-cut algorithms) and collisions with other environmental objects.

This has been a problem since GT5 Prologue.

My tune for the Sylvia:

Ballast: 0 (1056kg, Stage 3 weight reduction, glass reduction, etc.)
Engine limited to 206hp
Standard ECU
Top speed limited to 137mph
LSD: 6/24/12
Suspension:
Height: -15F/-18R
Rates: 12.0F/7.0R
Extension: 9F/8R
Compression: 7F/ 6R
Anti-roll: 6F/4R
Camber: 2.3F/1.9R
Toe: -0.11F/0.20R
Brakes 9F/7F

It feels plenty stable to me, but turn-in is still pretty good. Dialed out a bunch of understeer that plagued it early on.

It got me down to 1:41.0xx pretty quickly. I'm putting it on shared status if anyone needs to borrow it to gold this thing.

It can win the Trial Mountain race at these settings, too, but I usually bump the power up to around 250hp for that, just because...

As I was tuning my car to give these new events a bash and click my ps turned its self off. YLOD.
RIP my fat 60gb baby

That sucks. :ouch:

I'm still playing on a launchday 60 GB
So I'm backing up my save game frequently.

I haven't backed up for 2-3 months. That's a lot of cars!! . She's getting picked up on Tuesday for repair at a local repair shop so fingers cross I'll have it back up and running soon

So I don't miss to many seasonal's(see how I kept it on topic there).

I'm in Scotland 20 degrees is a heat wave

That's being a bit extreme. On the other hand, 23+ degrees is amazing

I ran RKM's suspension/lsd with full weight. Fun tune for sure. No permanent mods. Hitting 40-41's pretty consistent. Best was 1:39.4xx. Had one tire off on a hill though!

If the game penalized drivers even for a single tire off the track, or small touches and etcs, bad (virtual) drivers like me would be really screwed.

Hell, every F1, Nascar, Aussie V8 Supercar, Touring Car, and every other major series driver in real life would be screwed, too!

I'm with you about hitting the wall. However 1 or 2 tires off Should be legal anywhere/anytime. And is Not track cutting. Real racers, in real cars drop 1 or 2 wheels on real race tracks, to get faster times. Watch any Touring car series. And if PD set the track to real?

Yes I dislike the cheaters and glitchers. I would like to see all AIDS removed from the TT's. I think that would help the most. I mean things like, steering force whatever, driving line off, ABS no more the 1, And the big one, In car view only. That would prove more than any PD event so far, including GTAcademy.

I'm talking about all four tires being off the track/racing surface. That should clearly be penalized. I run according to the WRS rules: At least 2 tires must be kept on the track/racing surface at all times.
