GT Driver's Club?

Has anyone seen the latest seasonal events news in the game? It mentions kicking off GT Driver's Club... "a series of exclusive race events with unique requirements and special prizes".

Could we possibly be getting some real racing on the seasonal events for a change instead of the goofy catch the leader crap?

(Sorry if this has already been discussed... didn't see anything on it).
