Ladies and Gentleman, start your engines! Your Red Bull Jr. and Formula Gran Turismo engines to be precise, because this coming Sunday evening we will be running a mock Freedom 100 and Indianapolis 500. We aren't taking things too seriously though, this is all about fun so we're throwing in a few twists compared to the real Indy race weekend.

Race Number 1 will be the Freedom 100, or in our case the Freedom 87.5 because we're running 35 laps in the kiddie cars on the big boy track to get ourselves warmed up. This race will feature a qualifier that most people probably do not run in order to spice things up a bit. You will qualify in race together mode starting from the pit lane for 10 minutes. Tires allowed will be Racing Hard.

Race Number 2 is of course the Indianapolis 500, which will convert to the Indianapolis 175 because we will run 70 laps on the track. This race has performance restrictions though to keep the Formula GT down to what can generally be called Indycar speeds, your car will be tuned to 725 hp and 744 kg. Past that you may tune it all you like in the few remaining days before the big race. This starting grid will be set on the previous race results with yet another twist. The field will be inverted to a randomly picked position or not inverted at all depending on the number drawn from the inversion machine. After the inversion as taken place you will be called to the track in order of position and park past the official rejoin point in your newly assigned order. Tires allowed will be up to Racing Medium.

Extra Rules: These races will run cautions with a caveat, there must be 3 or more cars involved in the wreck for a yellow flag to come out. There is no real reason for a yellow to come out for just 2 cars crashing, the track is more than wide enough for 2 cars to go through a corner safely so some fault can be placed on both drivers in a situation as such. Note: no cautions will come out on the final lap to ensure a green flag finish, however taking out another driver is still strictly forbidden and you will not participate in any further events if you do so.
Pace lap: Both races will run one pace lap at 70 mph (112 km/h) because PD's rolling start is painfully separated. The grid will stay double file and about 1 to 2 car lengths between cars for the start. Note all other pace speed situations will be single file.
Starting and Restarting: On the start of the races the leader must accelerate from pace speed at the start line, no earlier. Restarting a race, the leader may accelerate from pace speed anywhere between the beginning of the pit wall and the start line. The leader controls the field until they accelerate inside of the zone, at which point positions become open to pass for again.

Room Settings: Tire wear will be set to normal for both races, Slipstream to real, and Boost off. Visual damage will be on, and mechanical will be set to light to keep everyone in the race and cautions short. Track Edge will be set to real so be careful to stay out of the grass. There is no minimum number of pit stops you must make in either race, but in the 500 you will have to change compounds.
