"The succession of rumours surrounding a new breed of PSP continues, with latest reports explicitly detailing a possible new iteration of Sony's portable gaming device.

1up is confidently reporting that Sony will reveal PSP Go! at June's E3, with the device being prepared for a release towards the end of the year. Ditching the UMD drive, the PSP Go! will include in-built flash memory, reportedly to be made available in 8GB and 16GB flavours. Games will be available via download, with the heavily delayed Gran Turismo Mobile to be one of the first titles to support the service."

Okay, I know its a rumor and I know there is a GT Mobile section, but since it could in a way affect GT5, I decided to post it here.

If by chance all these rumors turn out to be true and that some sites report the umd-less PSP to launch in Japan with GT Mobile as a launch title as early as September 09, would these affect the possibility of GT5 being pushed back from Dec 09 to March 2010 (which is the other rumored release time frame)? And even then, GT Mobile will only be out for six months which means many of us who are getting it may not even have completed the game when GT5 launches.

And on another note, in regard to the two projected release dates of GT5, Final Fantasy XIII is scheduled to release in Winter 2009 according to the Advent Children Complete blu ray, while God of War 3 could be slated for a March 2010. Kind of silly for Sony to launch GT5 so close to their other system sellers no? So with all these taken into account, could we possibly see an eventual delay to GT5?

Am I the only one who is getting the feeling way too many threads are being created lately? Not only are they many, but they also contain questions that are impossible for anyone to answear, and topics already discussed in other threads.

I agree Patrick. Anyways, I believe just like GOW COO on the PSP GT mobile will be handled by a different team than the console version.

I totally agree Patrik, I think people can't handle the lack of news and have nothing much to say, or to add to threads that are already there. Because the thing is most topics have already been discussed and nothing different is going to come out regardless of how many threads with basically the same subject are created, people need to think a little more before they post and certainly before they start a new thread. I know as a new member people want to feel apart of Gtplanet, I know I did, but I have yet to start a thread because all the things I wanted to say were already covered. But people are so desperate to want make their own mark, they start a thread. It's perfectly ok to not post if you have nothing to say, you don't have to keep refreshing subjects such as the release date or anything else just to try and be apart. Please people think before you post, re-wording thread titles are not going to get different answers, than the ones that are already there, we just don't know the answers yet, when somebody finds something out or if PD releases info it will be posted.

Oh and I am sure GTmobile and GT5 will be handled by different teams, so one shouldn't effect the other.

Actually my point was Sony deciding to delay GT5 on purpose so not to steal other PS3 potential console moving titles(FFXIII, Geow 3, etc) thunder and less so on PD not being able to finish up the game. And I apologise if this along with the surface of GT Mobile coming along earlier than GT5 has been discussed else where within some of the other threads.

Sony need every big hitting title they can get their hands on now, they need to turn around the PS3 as soon as possible with GT5 being a neccessity this Christmas.

"What makes the most sense" is releasing GT5 prior to christmas along with a drop in price of the PS3. That's a serious PS3 unit shifter.

The new psp comes out same time, covering all price gap bases for under the tree, with GTMobile to follow in the first quarter of '10.

I really don't think any marketing team would consider for a second releasing a major, MAJOR title on a portable device before it comes out in its full glory...
Surely? :scared:
...and we know from Amar that both versions of the game aren't coming out in the same realm.

Remember that GT Mobile and GT5 should be treated as different titles, they will be the development team.

The manpower to make GT portable would be tiny compared to GT5, if anything PD could simply tell Sony that they are hiring more people. GT portable would be a monster sales wise and would really help the sales of the PSP, if you have a look at the upcoming games releasing on the portable it is clear that Sony want the handheld to return to it's former glory.

GT portable will not be outsourced, it is Yamauchi's darling after all but as said for Sonys biggest internal devs PD could easily hire more people for GT portable.

Although I really do not have any idea whatsoever about any possible content of GT Mobile title, I find it will be pretty much diferent than all other GT titles so far.

First, PSP is very limited platform in terms of racing games, with honourable excuse of arcade racers such as Burnout or Outrun. Everybody who ever tried to drive TOCA 3 on PSP, or managed to bot GT or GT2 on modded PSP knows what I'm talking about.

If you want to steer, drive, and manualy change gears - which many would like - it becomes almost impossible to use current PSP design for more than 1/2 hour. Having GT Mobile to come with "usual" GT game content wouldn't do good.

Also, if roumurs about new design of PSP are true :) it is highly unlikely that portable-nature of PSP will allow that console become driving-friendly. In short, I guess that many people wuld not be happy with final outcome since physics we can witness in GT5:P are far more complex than TOCA3 and GT2 - and propper usage of control would become even greater problem.

However, I can see GT Mobile as title that is not oriented only on driving, AKA on Simulation Mode.

I see it as a some kind of add-on to full GT5 release, but with enough content to be played as standalone game. However, I think that any GT Mobile game - if there will ever be one :) - will come fully integrated with various features compatible with PS3 game.

I see it as compatible with B-Spec mode, where you'll be able to use RemotePlay function in order to play B-Spec races on the go. Imagine you want to finish 24Hours of LeMans and your PSP does in in B-Pec while you're in the work or school. Or you use RemotePlay in order to guide the race that is played on your PS3 at home.

I also see it compatible with the actual game-save which will be DRM protected, but interchangable betwen same user via PSN profile, allowing B-Spec, Photo Mode pictures and such to be transfered into PS3 savefile if completed on PSP.

I see ReplayMode compatibility, various aspects of Garage management and car maintanance to be implemented and such.

As for actual driving, I guess only some kind of Arcade mode comes into mind, with basic physics and multiplayer ad-hoc compatibility. However, you coud also use intrechangeability (is there such a word?) between PS3 and PSP to unlock content vice-versa.

Rear-view mirror for GT5 would also come in handy, but that is just wishful thinking :D

Well you see great things amar, if your eyes serve you correctly then the final vision of GT Mobile will be something to behold. GT Mobile would certainly help "kick-start" sales and draw plenty of interest into Sony's new Mobile platform.
;)👍

I suspect that the new psp2 hardware will allow for at least GT4 based physics and graphics. If the rumors are true, then it would not be hard for polyphony to port over existing GT4 data. My guess is that KY did not release GT Mobile earlier because of hardware limitations of the original psp.

👍 If GT5 integration features are not included with the release of GT mobile then at least the both platforms (ps3, psp2) will allow for downloadable content. The sky is the limit this time around.

Guess what happens in forums when there is news and rumour to be discussed and get all excited about? At least the OP got some good discussions going, because all you did was rant and post something completely off-topic  So what if there are questions impossible to answer...almost everything about GT5 is a guess at the momoment, so shock-of-shocks, people DISCUSS and DEBATE stuff. Don't like it? Move along...

Anyway, I doubt we'll see the PSP version before the PS3 version. At the same time maybe, but not before. While a nice stand-alone portable version would be nice, the more I read what amar212 put, the more it makes sense for the game to also be a major accompaniment to GT5. Being able to take your garage off-line, upgrade cars, test out settings, and then load those cars back into the full game...that would be cool. Lots of potential for innovation that's for sure.

That would be pretty sick playing a endurance race on the train to and from work :P.
