GT-R Proto '05: A Premium with no cockpit view.

I just bought this car a moment ago to take it around the Ring to test the car out. I decided to check out driving in some of the other views only to find that it has no cockpit view! After, I tried to go into Photo Travel and that worked as did going into GT Auto to see if the wheels could be changed. I find that bizarre, I thought all the premiums were supposed to have that, but all it had was the standard roof cam, bumper cam and third person view.

Not sure if the real world example even had a interior to begin with.

Because the real car doesn't have an interior. They just did a mock up and put it on display with the windshield tinted.

Ah okay, I suppose that makes sense then. Although perhaps they should have spent the time used on making the Proto '05 a premium and put it towards a car that could be fully fleshed out accurately.

They include this waste of a premium in this game, when they could of made the supra or bugatti veyron premium. PolyPHONY Digital fail #12391283123 :grumpy:

The X2010 was a car completely developed for GT5. The real mock up is based on the game, not the other way around.

I know hat but what stopped them from making a cockpit for the FGT?

Don't say it's a GT4 car because that is the only Formula (1) car you can use... part from bit part Ferrari's.

I'm sure they could've touched up a cockpit for a car as important as this?

The Nissan Skyline GT-R PROTO 05' is in GT5P and it had no interior then. The Nissan Skyline GT-R Black Mask' was in GT5P. Hidden car till KIOSK MODE was used. The PROTO' was a Shell only. And it was Just a Concept Car at first.

You guys just didn't play GT5Prologue from start.

First demo of GT5 Prologue had GTR Concept and few cars under blanket.

As days passed on various shows one after another blankets were removed and then we saw first time cars like Mazda Atenza exacly the same day when real one was showed for the first time.

So what this means for GTR Proto and GTR Black Mask ? Same as Atenza first was GTR Proto next GTR Black Mask and finally GTR as we know it.

They modeled all 3 cars. So Proto is concept car from tokyo show (withhout interior) GTR black mask when Nissan were still working on it and GTR final production car.

Nope it was drivable in erlier life of GT5P and later as final GTR was delivered to GT5P they just removed it from car selection.

Wow, didn't know a Skyline Proto from 2005 exists also in GT5?!
Is it based on the R34 or Type V35 based on the Nissan Z platform?
Is it a premium model?
I always thought there is just a GTR Proto from 2005 as premium model.

in other words, get your names right!!! A Skyline GTR is no longer in production since the R34, because the new GTR is not based on a Coupe version of the Skyline V35 or the current gen V36 but rather a car of it's own.

I think it was simpler for PD to lightly modify their GTR to get the concept fascia correct so they could have an easy additional car to add in the game as oppose to modeling an all-new one. I wouldn't have minded seeing some extra Skylines, S2000s, RX7s, etc. turned into premium with minimal effort, so I'd have a better chance of getting the cars I'd ACTUALLY want in the UCD!:sly:

What was the point of this unnecessarily pedantic clarification (who really cares)? The message of the posts in this thread get across all the same.

Anyways, I think it is quite a shame that PD didn't bother to make an interior for the 2005 prototype, because I honestly always preferred the looks of it to those of the final car.

The GT-R Proto from 2005 was a revised concept and didn't make it into GT4. The car in GT4 was the 2001 GT-R concept.

For me this is the nicest version of all, ok i like angles but the design just seems cleaner and less "busy" than all the versions that followed, including the eventual road versions, though they are still great cars in every other way.

Worth noting that the 2001 concept is in GT5 as a standard :)
