Gt-r

If you want to import it, it's going to cost you ~$80,000 because first of all the Skyline is discontinued and second Motorex just like to charge people with big numbers.

I thought R32's and R33's were cheaper. I'm not a major fan of the R34, although looking through autotrader I found quite a few tasty R32 GT-R's. Although there are plenty of GTS-T's in there too.

MotoRex and Omega Skylines do. MotoRex, Omega, and RB Motoring sell them.

MotoRex is the only one who can comply one at this time.

R32's are generally around the $30k USD mark
R33's are around $47k
R34's are $80k and up from what I've seen on their site.

Can you import one yourself?
Yes.

Can you comply it yourself?
No

Can anyone Besides MotoRex comply one?
No

Can I import one into canada?
Yes. The R31 or earlier models. The has to be 15 years old or older.

Does it have to be convertered to left hand drive?
No

Does MotoRex conert them to left hand drive?
No

Will MotoRex tell me what needs to be done?
Not a chance.

:)

This place isn't an encyclopedia, my friend. Are you too lazy, or stupid to search yourself? All your threads in this section have been one liners with a question mark at the end. On some topics, most of us can help. But when it comes to questions like that, well, i don't see why you'd want to come here and ask questions that can be answered fairly easily with a search engine.

I seriously recommend you to click that link. It'll answer all your questions regarding this subject, and maybe more.

I thought it was illegal to have a right hand drive car in the US. Or is it just in certain states?

And what's this comply you speek of?

Personally, I don't think some of the older model's of Skylines are that impressive.

It's legal. I know it's fine in California, but I don't know about the other states. And yes, I thought he was talking about the R34. Sorry.

The only car that I know of that is center drive is the McLaren F1, and that car's illegal.

I don't know because there aren't many center drive cars in the US unless you're talking about those construction vehicles.

There's no such thing as an illegal driving position (i'm not talking about how you're installed in your seat here, but from where you are driving.) There are some vehicles that are converted to Right hand drive for mailmens, or milk mens, or people who have to do a lot of stops on a roadside.

I don't know where you got that idea, but the fact we're driving on the left has to do with how our roads are set up, not because of legality.

If driving in the center was illegal, McLaren's F1 would be illegal, and to an extent, motorbikes would be too. Jay Leno has an F1, and he drives it relatively regularly, too.

On the streets? That's crazy

McLaren's are illegal on the road because they go too fast, right? That's what I read on one site.

That's a load of BS. The F1 was illegal at one point due to emissions, but i don't think that's the case anymore. It had nothing to do with the driving position/engine power.

i dunno... if they would meet the emision laws for the wonderful state of california... referring to the mclaren f1...

oh well got beaten

I didn't mean to say that the McLaren was illegal because of the driving position. I meant that it was illegal. Sorry about not clearing that up.

The emissions in California I guess is supposed to be a model for the world saying that we need to have cars that burn more effeiciently. Now we're resorting to hybrids. I can't wait to sit in a hybrid that feels like a V8

No, it's because of emissions and safety. Things like headlights, front bumper height and so on.

I just had a little look on this - apparently there were some people bringing them into the US, but from what I've been able to glean it was all pretty dodgy. Jay Leno has one that was brought into via these guys, apparently.

i suffered a huge disappointment last sun, at the import drag race i went to i came across an infiniti skyline.... didn't look anything like the previous models, i fear the skylines are gonna die off very quickly. :( i do have a pic, i posted it somewhere in the 'other racing' forum

you mean an infiniti G35 with skyline badging? my dad was in SoCal on business last week and he spotted a "skyline" in the parking lot of his hotel and took some pictures. It was actually a G35 coupe with Skyline and GTR badging. I don't mind the skyline badging..but the GTR emblem was just wrong.

as for the Right Hand Drive..as far as I know, the RHD has nothing to do with a car being illegal. Just look at all the Post Office Vehicles driving around. They're all RHD. The only reason a RHD car would be illegal is if it either didn't pass emissions or that model was never crash tested in the US (or possibly if you converted your LHD car to RHD, I'm not sure what the law is in that situation), the steering wheel being on the other side doesn't really matter.

On the terms of "what side it's driven on" You are only allowed 1 Right hand drive car to be registered in your name at a time i'm sure the same applies for center.

well the infinity is a skyline but the luxury version which is known as just "skyline" in japan....It is NOT a GTR version which hasn't been designed yet other than the concept that was shown at the auto shows.

this infiniti skyline makes me sick.

Only the GT-R models are like that; the base model Japanese Skyline is the Infiniti G35. It doesn't pretend to be anything more, nor is it. Quit thinking it is.
