Hello fellow GTPlanet-ers. :gtpflag:

As the community event does not start until 2pm on Friday 20th, I thought perhaps there might be time for some of us going from GTPlanet to meet up beforehand.

Myself, I am able to be in the area from around 11am or 12pm midday on the day. Especially if a get together is planned.

If anyone is interested in meeting up, could you leave a reply here or drop me a PM. If we can get a reasonable number it will surely be worth doing.

Also, if anyone knows the area at all and can suggest a venue to meet near the station or near the Copper Box Arena, can you mention it in the thread below.

I'd be interested in a meet-up beforehand. Will be driving from Brighton in the morning, so will be arriving there roughly around the same time as you. Would be great to gather as many GTP-ers as possible. 👍
 
Haven't decided whether to drive or get train to Hackney Wick yet. Or if I'll be in the area much beforehand and for a laugh bring my old Dad.

Finalise through the week, I'll pm if it becomes a possibility.
 
I know this has all been a whirlwind last 48 hours and many people haven't finalised plans yet. When you know what you're going to be doing leave a message here or send me a pm. 👍

I suggest we keep any plans as simple as possible so as to suit as many people as possible.

It's been suggested to me that a meet in Westfield shopping centre might be a good idea, though it's pretty big. I've been a couple of times and if I recall correctly there's some food outlets in the centre (upstairs floor?) so they might be a good meeting point that is easy to find for everyone?
 
Westfield sounds good, I haven't been there much either but I have been with family so I know my way around. Only thing is that I won't be driving to reach London for midday, more like 1-1:30pm so I might not be making it in time for a meet-up.

If you can't make it to any meet-up then no problem. We'll see you inside the event! The first part of the event is advertised as being street food outside at 2pm, so hopefully that will give us all a chance to mingle and find out who is from the forum.

Good idea, we'll have to try and get that sorted when we get in to the event. 👍 We might need a bigger venue to fit everyone in the photo though :lol:
 
I don't know how early I am going to be there, but I'll probably be pulling wheelies up n down the car park on my 'GT' mountain bike until doors opens. :mischievous: :lol:
 
In case I do get there early, I'll post updates of my location in this thread or as a status. Chances are I'll be at Westfield waiting for a friend.

As long as you are not doing that inside Westfield, otherwise you'll spend the afternoon somewhere else :lol:
 
Sorry for the double post, but here is a link for the food and drink locations in Westfield. All the usual suspects. Starbucks or one of the TWO Costa Coffees might be the easiest place for people to find for a meet up beforehand?

Right folks, I'll post here when I get to Westfield shopping centre tomorrow, with details of where I am, unless someone else gets there beforehand in which case I'll be wherever they are :lol:.

I'll be the weirdo waving a copy of GT6 around from time to time :lol:.

Should also mention that I'm over 40 (hence the handle lol) so if you see someone younger waving at you it's not me :P

Taking a rucksack with a few bits, mainly just a notebook, camera, spare batteries and memory cards, and the eventbrite ticket of course. Oh and a box of tissues for this annoying summer cold that I can't shake :yuck: Can't think what else to take...

Livestream was fun, can't wait for tomorrow. Very impressed with @Jordan 's commentary, very professional, especially how you managed to both fill that awkward gap while they fixed the technical glitch on the last race.
 
I am a little confused, is the event sold out or can I buy something at the entrance? I will probably show up but around 3 because of work. If they do not grant me entry, would be nice to see @Jordan and thank him in person for the contributions he has done for the GT community. Does anybody know if they are selling any merchandise (really looking for shirts/tops)??

Have a look at news post on here for eventbrite ticket links, but 99.9% sure sold out a week ago as only about 300 tickets for tomorrow, sorry.
No idea if they're giving out anything at the venue , seems unlikely based on format of event. But I'll try to post here if something is being done outside for non ticket holders. As I say though, it seems unlikely.
 
There's a Starbucks right by the tube station entrance in Stratford. I'm inside waiting... Lol

There was discussion of this happening after the last race per Tom but logistically it was pretty impossible tbh with everyone constantly spread round the area in and out of the venue.
