Anything new I guess? :D

And of course, any thoughts on how the game feels and sounds are always welcome.

There won't be anything new, PD are clearly not supplying any more new builds for stage shows. It'll be the same thing seen at other events the past few months.

What could be the reason for that? They have been offering new builds to every game show (cooper box>e3>gamescom).

So, I'm uploading the vids (unfortunatlely, I didn't record as much as I wanted - lacked memory on my phone, and didn't have a proper camera at the moment), and before I'm done, I'll tell my general impressions.

The physics... Well... I've been turning the assists off, and I think there is some progress compared to GT6. The GT-R '17 tends to oversteer when entering a corner too roughly, much like in Assetto Corsa (although it has a Nismo GT-R '15). Drove a lap on Nordschleife on the Gr.3 Mustang with ALL assists disabled and T500RS wheel - that was sweaty, I left the track a couple of times, but managed to finish second (with "Professional" AI).
The collision physics is much better than before. Ramming a rival car can easily destabilize both. (However, no damage model was in this demo build.) I didn't try crashing on purpose, but I've seen other people flying, rolling over and even doing flips in the air (I remember it wasn't so easy to do in GT6).

The AI... I didn't feel much progress on it. The "Intermediate" and "Professional" settings are not much different.

I also tried drifting (with a gamepad), tried the Mazda Roadster N200 with "Sports Standard" tires and it wasn't easy - overcorrection was too quick. But then, tried Lotus Evora with "Comfort Medium" tires and that was easier. I recorded a little bit of drifting replay.

Regarding the tires, I saw that the Comfort and Sports have variants: Hard, Medium, Soft and Standard. And the "Standard" seemed to have better grip. The Racing tires had Rain and Heavy Rain versions, so I guess we will have weather change in the full game.

If possible, is it ok to show a photo/video of all the cars' specs in Garage mode or something? I'm curious to see the specs of most of the Gr. 3 cars...
Unfortunately, there was no option to display a car's stats. You can only see the car's dimensions and weight in the showroom animation.

So, first two vids:
Alfa 4C Gr.3, Brands Hatch GP, T500RS wheel, assists: ABS=1 only, Intermediate AI.

And a short footage of Nissan GT-R '17 on Northern Isle Speedway where you can notice the sound.
So short because the memory ran out. :grumpy: Anyway, it's just a speedway.

Wow, I'm on GTP news :gtpflag:
And there's another video I wanted to show. It's now ready.
My first try of GT Sport. Hyundai Genesis Gr.3, Tokyo Expressway, gamepad control. All assists on (except for auto braking & steering help), Intermediate AI. Interior view included.

(On 0:54, the guy who I asked to record my playing asked me, "how do you change the view?". I said that you have to push on the touchpad to do it (I just found it by randomly pressing the buttons), and on 1:01, he tells his friend, who was playing nearby, "Sergey, press on the touchpad to change view!".)

And the final video I have to share - Mustang Gr.3 on Nordschleife.
Professional AI, all assists off.
Unfortunately, the memory was enough for 2 minutes only (I should have prepared better :banghead:), but I think there's still something to see.

The guy who I asked to record this was a member of PS Russia staff who was observing the stand and helping the players to set the game up, and it seemed like he's a sim racer, too. When I just chose the "Professional" AI level, he said "Ha, you're going hardcore?", set the track for me (Nordschleife) and switched all assists off (I said, "Alright, just leave the ABS on!", he answered, "Haha, no."). Funny guy - just see 1:07 :D. Well, anyway, let's see how it handles without ABS, thought I.

So, I finished the race on second place, losing about 3 seconds to the leader at the end of the lap. No serious mess-ups after the end of the video, just left the track one more time, but kept driving in the same pace. That's what the "Professional AI" is like.

So despite what certain people keep claiming here we have yet more evidence of the "Professional AI" being very poor. When you were alongside that Hyundai at the start it was so easy to predict what would happen, it would brake hard and early and you'd fly past. That's what happened and the rest was also more of the same old stuff.

It's... still just a demo. Who knows how old the build is. This is just my preference, but I don't look towards the AI as competition. I prefer real, live human interaction. Basically online is where it's at for me. I'm more interested in how that plays and the workings of the real-time penalties we saw at the first event. Having a competent AI is a must, but to me it's not a make or break for a purchase. Nice videos @Rage Racer, hope you have more in the future.

If they didn't have some sort of confidence in it, I don't think they would have shown it. Although, There is still a lot of time for change, anyways.

Way to miss the point. Yes it is a demo but people keep claiming after playing the demo that the AI is vastly improved, yet every video we see doesn't support it.

I said "a competent AI is a must". I didn't miss the point, seems like you selectively read my post. I don't care if the videos suggest the AI has improved or not. I didn't elaborate on that and I never stated as such, even if others say so. In fact, I see the people that have played the demo saying it more. You watch videos and come to your conclusion. As for my post, I stated my opinion that AI isn't my main concern and that the competition I look forward to is online.

From the videos, I can't see anything I was hoping for from the AI. They're still very slow, even in the last video where the player makes a ton of mistakes, the "professional" AI is so hopeless he just eats them up as if he's in a DTM car against road cars (which obviously isn't the case). The AI still brake way too early, and they still do the old GT AI thing where they slam the brakes on and let you past as soon as you're alongside them, even on straights and corner exits. Not surprised really, once they announced it was basically online only I stopped expecting AI improvements.

I can understand that a smart AI must be something very difficult but at least fast AI?! GT is the only racing game with a slow AI (not only dumb) that I know.
