PD already said that there will be no/minimal content updates this year. They are working on the next game now.

Oh, don’t worry. We’ll definitely get a new car this year....

A 2021 GR Supra
I could see maybe the GR Super Sport. Rumored to go on sale soon, maybe Toyota would like to get it in a game right now. Maybe too long to wait for the next game. Not for sales, can't really buy one, but to sell the GR Toyota brand. And the name, GR Super Sport kind of fits this game.

The GR Super Sport is essentially the prelude to the GR010, successor to the TS050 and competing in this year’s WEC as a Le Mans Hypercar. The GR010 is a much more likely inclusion into GT Sport as a Gr.1 car, assuming PD decides to add a new car to the game this year.

That why I think it may be the older version. GR010 timing fits the next game.

I keep thinking a lot of companies missed debuting cars in 2020. They may this year too. Car companies relied too heavily on Auto Shows for press releases.

Like Lexus, who just announced a Concept crossover vehicle today, online, probably wishing for more press.

If auto companies were forward thinking they would have pressured PD to get 2021cars in the game. In hindsight, that would have been really smart.

I don't think most manufacturers care too much if sim racers have access to their cars in games. They just want to sell them, and I'm sure having them in a game only contributes to very minimal sales gains, so there's no real urgency to get new cars into games for most manufacturers.
Let's be honest, are you queueing up to buy a car because of what's in Gran Turismo Sport or ACC or PC3?

It is not only about making you buy a car. It is about making a brand awareness. Same with TV Spots, are they really made you buy something? Probably not, but they do make you notice a brand. This is why Porsche is now in nearly every racing game, they did learn they lesson when RUF was starting to be more noticable because of exclusive EA deal with Porsche.

Agreed that brand awareness is very important to each brand and that's how they make sales in the long run, but they're not all going to rush out to the sim developers to ensure their latest cars are included in games - they're more likely to focus on targeted marketing campaigns to shift units and recoup costs on the development of said models. Some brands do use games as platforms to give people tasters of their new cars (like Toyota with the GR Yaris) but the majority of the cars in the game are older than 2018. They're more likely to work with PD on the new game for the newer cars to be released into that, not an older product (even if it's the main outlet for PD at the moment).

We do know PD keep sales figures of in game cars. It's also something, at least, Toyota & Mazda have been briefed about.https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...w-what-cars-you-buy-in-gt-sport.392296/page-3

I don't want a new track, at the end they repeat the same tracks every week, with a bit of imagination we can have more fun if they just think about it and choose better combos.
A new car? No thanks! Make this game decent, have a decent penalty system and avoid letting people cheating in races.
Quite simple to improve this game, without new content.
