Recorded with the Share button @ 1080p
One lap around Brands hatch in Cockpit View
I drove both laps. These are not Replays, Recorded as I drove it.
One in 4K with HDR OFF, then in 4K with HDR ON

With HDR ON - start this one first - Wait 2 seconds, start the next one. use Pause to get them in Sync.

With HDR OFF

I'm sorry but I thought you can't record an HDR content like this
i got a message on my ps4 pro saying something like "video can't capture hdr correctly" when trying to record some Horizon footage.
when i then watched that hdr video the colours looked much to saturated! so i think you cant capture hdr content on ps4 yet.

The Video Playback, while at a lower resolution It Does depict the difference between
HDR OFF, and HDR ON.

It is a significant difference.
True, You can't capture true HDR 10, at 1080p and even if you could, you couldn't view it unless you had
a HDR 10 capable system.. Not Sure if Youtube even supports HDR 10 encoding.

The Point of the Video is to show the big Difference between
HDR OFF, and HDR ON.

I drove the Laps, Once with HDR OFF, and Once With HDR ON, I saw first hand the Big Difference it makes.
I recorded the Video's using the Share Button.
and I watched the replay of the Videos.

It is a pretty Accurate representation of the Difference.
I think, Because I created the content, I can verify it's depiction of that content.

Was Horizon Produced with HDR 10 encoding in the game?
From what I read It wasn't. It supports a 4K resolution mode, but doesn't use the HDR 10 color range.

GT Sport was. GT Sport takes full advantage of HDR 10 color spectrum.

So If Horizon wasn't encoded for it, then I'm sure you are not seeing HDR 10 from it.

My 4K TV has HDR and I have a PS4 Pro, but I also have a PS VR and unfortunately it does not allow HDR passthrough.

I have Both as well, you need one or two of these, plus one or two short HDMI cables.

With a 4K TV, and Only ONE HDMI ( HDR 10 ) input. You Will Need 2 Switch Boxes.
The TV will determine if you Need One or Two Switch Boxes.
If it has More than One HDMI 4K input, then Only One Switch Box is Needed.

TV with Single HDMI Input, Connected Like this.

If you Have an A/V receiver that Supports 4K HDR pass through,
Or your TV has More than ONE HDMI HDR 10 Input
then you Only need One Switch.

then you connect like this

And if you have a Full Blow A/V system.
Then you Might Connect Like this..

Thanks. My 4K TV does have multiple HDMI ports but only one is HDMI HDR 10 compatible. Why would one of the other two ports not work for the PSVR connection?

The videos are not in 4K or in HDR.
Regardless if you set it on, the recorder will simply not show any visual benefits as it's not reading HDR or 4K.

Such hardware does not exist for consoles as of now to my knowledge.

It works. I ran an HDMI 2.0 cable from my PS4 Pro to a 4K switch, which has two ports. I connected the Playstation VR to one port and the 4K TV to another via an HDMI 2.0 cable and I am good to go!!! Horizon Zero Dawn looks absolutely amazing in HDR. I have not seen a huge difference in GT Sport. I will test Last of Us Remastered and Uncharted 4 and will report back my findings. In any event, this is a fantastic change, as it allows me to enjoy my 4K TV and PS4 Pro to their full capabilities!!!

In GT Sport under Video setting, you have to Enable the HDR. It's OFF by Default.

Never stated they were in 4K or In HDR.
I recorded them with the share button, with HDR on, and with HDR Off.
And yes, even though the Video is in 1080p, There is a close comparison that shows how HDR ON, makes a huge difference.

Watch the Video's, compare the difference.

Then go turn HDR ON, on your 4K TV, then Turn HRD OFF on your 4K tv..

The videos demonstrates the same thing.
I know, I recorded them..
