GT SPORT RACES - DEJA VU

Hi all,

This is my first post so please bear with me.

I seem to be getting a sense of deja vu when it comes to the weekly races.

Last week we had a GR.4 race on Dragon Trail - Garden stage which was a nice change because I don't recall ever driving that course in reverse, however this week it seems that we have reverted back to a course that we seem to be driving more times than I'd like. That's right, Fuji International Speedway. I'm sure that was one of the weekly races last month. It's just getting boring that its always the same races. The week before was Le Mans! Although it was a race without chicanes it was pretty much who has the fastest car - 2 long straights, a sprint and a few turns. Boring!

GT Sport has a vast catalogue of circuits that they rarely use. I mean, I've driven the Goodwood circuit (GR.4) once since it was introduced as a new circuit last year (or was it the year before). Brands Hatch is always used a Race B, which is annoying. Why not Race C? (Don't even get me started on how short those races are in Race A and B).

I sometimes feel that Race B events have proper drivers circuits than Race C. I mean, this week its Nurburging GP circuit. I mean, what the hell? That should be Race C event, not Fuji again.

Anyway that's my thoughts.

Tell me what you think.

With the number of tracks, car classes, & individual vehicles for one make races, the number of possible combinations is very large. PD has always been lackluster in this regard, not making the most of what they've got. What I'd like to see is some kind of community interaction whereby fans come up with ideas for combos & PD implement them, trying not to repeat themselves in the process.

Nope they have just been lackluster after switching to weekly races, this is what we enjoyed before the switch

I guess PD wants people to concentrate on FIA races by making the dailies less and less fun to participate in.

Hello all,

With apologies to the O.P.....

My hatred of Fuji has reached new levels me thinks. I have built a life size model of the Fuji track on the farm here. I take great delight in flying the crop sprayer plane over the model and dumping copious amounts of cow pooh on each corner.

The meta car for this event needs to be a ballet dancer and bullfighter and prize fighter and a contortionist all at the same time. Something which is, currently, beyond my wildest imagination!

Regards.

Ian JB.

GT planet should write a article e ery week about how they think PD could be more creative. The signs are everywhere.

It really is a godawful track. I too hate it with the fire of a thousand suns. Especially the last sector. And guess what race A is this week.

Have you ever known a media source or company that bites their cash cow?
I mean... we have written articles in the past on areas of the game that could do with improvement - especially those with a large outpouring of negative emotion in the community - and offered suggestions on how to do that. We even flag up big-ass bugs.

We've even brought up the subject of this thread with Yamauchi in an interview:
https://www.gtplanet.net/kazunori-yamauchi-paris-interview-part-2/

We don't get any money from Sony, PlayStation, or Polyphony Digital (or any other game studio, publisher, or platform), so it's not our "cash cow". If anything is, it's the people who read our articles and visit our site - so we have to publish things they want to read!

As for creativity... this week's races have two cars with pre-tuned suspension settings. Two weeks ago there was classic vs. modern Minis. Four weeks back it was three N100 superminis, and two weeks before that we had three generations of Z cars. They've clearly been trying to shake things up a bit (every fortnight).

Sure, we haven't seen Circuit de Sainte-Croix C Reverse, and they do seem to like Fuji, Suzuka, and Interlagos, but it's not like there's no variety.

Sorry, I could have worded that better. I didn’t mean it in the sense that you guys make money directly from PD/Sony, I just meant that PD/GT is the main reason that people visit the site is all, so having a tons of articles bashing the game that brings the majority of people to the site can’t be good for business is all I meant. :)

There's no clicks quite like hate clicks  The rage over PC3's missing pitstops was fantastic for site traffic :D

I agree with everything except the variety, if Fuji ever appeared again with any car and any tune it would still be far too often. I find Fuji to be just a miserable track.:cheers:

Are polyphony paying gtplanet for articles? Well, biased news than.

Pd are great. But u guys know all the bads with this game. Pd should be ashamed for not making being creative weekly races. First, back to daylies. Than the time between the races. When u want to play race A, B and C it should not be necessary to wait 9 minutes for a race that is 9 minutes long. Race C has a good flow.

And im starting to wonder if the game devolpers even play their own game. Looks like its not so much passion around.

Always see a lot of hate for Fuji on this forum, but personally I've liked the track since GT5 shuffle races.
It's very challenging, and I get it wrong all the time, but thats ok.

We haven't had Nür24h GT3 race C in about a year? That's my bread and butter and had been checking for it quite often but never seems to come up. Would even take GT4.

Last time was the last week of October, it is badly overdue! Only Nxxx on sports tires at Nordschleife since then :/
