GT Sport Vita remote play?

The remote play lets you start the game and loads up the track but you can't move the car. Be nice if it would work in the full game, I may actually use the thing.

It will most likely work when the game is released (it is an AAA title after all).

Just wondering since release of full game, has anyone tried remote play yet , if so how was it good or bad ?

I wonder about this as well. This is reason itself to get a Vita. Being able to continue making liveries while sitting on the can. Beats playing Angry Birds. (Not actually playing Angry Birds but I’m surely not the only one playing useless games on my phone while doing my business.)

I tried it release week but haven't since. It works, but not great. This is at least the experience I had, maybe it's my internet or that it's a first gen (first day release) Vita so maybe they've been improved since. I was doing the license tests when I was using it and had difficulty finishing with them. I found that the response of the steering was very sluggish. Like I said, maybe it was my internet or hardware, but still haven't tried it since.

I didn't try anything on it other than the license test so maybe it'd be good for liveries or other features.

I've tried it and it works fine.
I always use my remote play on my Vita to play games whilst watching movies/tv and it works perfectly. It does depend on your wifi connection. If it is choppy video playback then you have a bad internet/WIFI connection. Depending on the game the controls are sometimes a little tricky to work around on a Vita running OFW, if you have a Vita running CFW and a certain plugin you can actually changes the controls around on the vita. Also I use a case I bought from PlayAsia that gives the Vita R2 and L2 buttons. https://www.play-asia.com/l2r2-button-grip-cover-for-pch-1000-black/13/709ikh .

I got the Vita for that very reason and overall, been disappointed. Maybe I've just never had good quality internet, though everything else has always worked fine. I find that unless you are in the same room, you'll at some point get the "Disconnection" notice at the top of the screen. Over the course of my Vita's nearly 6 year life, it has spent a huge majority of that time dead in a drawer.

Which brings me to my next point, are we not nearing something new in the handheld department from Sony? I think the concept of remote play is great, I've just found it being shoddy execution with the Vita. I spent countless hours on my PSP as a kid and I was hoping for the same from the Vita, but for me it just hasn't delivered. We're 6 years post launch of the Vita now with only a minor refresh in 2014, it's getting sort of long in the tooth.

Okay, THAT is cool. The button layout was another thing that would turn me off from using the Vita for remote play, using the touch pad can just be frustrating. I may have to invest in this.

Was one of the single best investments I made on my Vita. Without getting into the AUP territory here, Wololo.net is your friend for all things Vita related. Easiest place to find everything necessary to get the most from your Vita.

the DS4 updates have helped with the response for the Vita. before it was almost like driving drunk lol. it does work well for me but with my girfriend watching netflix it can have issues sometimes but i mainly just grind credits with it

My experience with Remote Play its been really good with many PS4 Games. Sony (or the developer) usually takes care of this feature with improved controls and/or button specific configuration, and there is no difference here in GT Sport. You can adjust controls as you like, but the real 'issue' its sensitivity and the mini joystick itself.

Although PS Vita its well known for its hardware, don't expect any similar feel to a DualShock4. I set my throttle/brake to X/Square, and it works fine for grinding and arcade, making liveries or taking some pictures. You can even try motion sense like in a DualShock4, it feels good, but don't expect any competitiveness :banghead:

Some have reported connectivity issues in this thread. I would advice them to look for an option in PS4 settings that runs Remote Play through the internet and not by turning your PS4 into a Wifi spot

Lastly, speaking about grips, I go with PDP. 12€. I don't really need L2/R2 as many games take into consideration the absence of these triggers and switch those actions to R1/L1 by default.

I run mine through the WiFi no problem. Trying to connect through the internet I'd imagine would start to cause issues as both systems would then take up bandwidth trying to connect online and then to eachother. WiFi is a direct link.
As for the grips, the R2/L2 feels very true to a DS4 and in my case playing PS1 games on the Vita it really does give a more true gaming experience. I know that the games when running on remoteplay will often switch the button config to compensate for the Vita's lack of shoulder triggers, but then it affects gameplay. I'll give an example and the reason I use a plugin on my Vita to force a preferred button config: Injustice 2 on the DS4 has a button combination to perform a special. This is R2+L2 at the same time. When playing on the Vita, the default for R2/L2 is the top corners of the rear touchpad, however, for some reason the game switches this to the top corners of the front screen meaning you need to perform and awkward movement of your hands to make use the move almost dropping the Vita at times. Now my grip case assigns the R2/L2 as the top rear corners of the back pad so when I force it to use the default button config, the game plays just as it would with a DS4. For me, I find this much better.
The downside as you mentioned to using remote play for a lot of games is that games that require soft touch on some buttons are a little trickier to play i.e you can't use 20% throttle using R2/L2 in a racing game. It's either on or off.

 Getting a gaming console from your kids? Shouldn’t it be vice versa? You get them a Vita and you borrow it when you need it ;)

Ok i use the term kids losely they are 21 and 19 .My son does have a vita but its a pain swapping tne memory cards over for me to use so it would be much easier for me to have my own.

That’s not the game, it’s your internet

Well i dont think its the internet. I think its possibly the vita. Or just remote play in general... ps4 is hardwired to router and vita could be jammed up the routers proverbial rear orifice and its always inconsistant.. multiple routers tried over the years.
