Before anything (sorry for bad english)
I have been a huge fan of the GT series since GT2 (what a game!) And with every new instalement in the franchise there comes ups and downs as everyone knows... for example: GT5 pixelated shadows and particles was a disaster but weather effect and dynamic time lapses are to date very amazing... but there were more ups than downs in every new instalement...so when GT Sport was announced some time ago, the fact we can compete for real -licenced- championships was (and still is) something amazing, BUT...BUT...
REALLY? No damage, no dynamic weather, no visual improovement (real improovement), to something you want to keep calling "The real racing simulator"?
Before people start puting excuses into the table lets talk about what we know so far (yes! I know is still in development)
-First: PD says the game is on 50% of the development process. So...why am I so hard on what we have seen so far?...well because its imposible to this game to be on 50% of development and say it will launch this year. Yes! Its imposible. Tripe A games need a lot of time and money to be finished and we dont need to be game developers to know that you need more than a year to finish 50% of a triple A game. So is PD lying and they will surprisingly blow our minds or they will launch a really poor improoved game? I think the game will be not be that so different from the beta (or demo) we saw some days ago.
-Second: the damage: to be the real racing simulator you need some really good damage (because in real life that matters a lot), visually and mechanical [dunno how to say that]) .And as I said before..how can you put that lot of stuff (damage is very hard to simulate) in just some months?
-Thirt: the visuals: for forza or GT fans the visuals you need to archive must be at least DriveClub graphics (yes those are the best so far), so to be the "real racing simulator" you need to have some pretty outstanding visuals (weather in DC is insane) and damagee is included in here as well.. But we saw nothing close to that (dont jump to framerate just jet) it should be better! GT have allways been a graphical marvel so why are we steping back with this?...why?
-4th: physics: yeah I know...I havent played the game...but do we really need that? I mean cars dont even suffer damage...how can you make a game aiming to simulate real physics and there is no damage? Not possible...if you lose the spoiler or some aerodinamic part of the car, that can make a huge change on how the car behaves.... and not to mention weather on tracks like nurburgring or spa...it is a game changer, and a lot of you guys say it will not be a big deal on the final game? No way!
And now the framerate....yes we need 60 fps, but not for that you elimante the dynamic weather and time...I think a lot about doing 24h races on sunny day...that would be so stupid!. PD have years and a lot of money to develop this game to come up with this poor demo and say it is at 50% development? Dont buy that! Its a lie! Its an excuse! The framerate is not an issue here (game engines these days are xtremly powerfull)...the issue is the fact they have a super big fan base (me includded) who will support them no matter what. But I will not be like a CoD fan or FIFA fan, no! If this is how they see us (as compulsive buyers) them Im done with it.
Stop saying what you saw is the future or even looks good (flikering shadows were visible, bumpy cars and no damge!) It is not. If you are so blind about a franchise, it will end like most big franchises...like a mediocre one---'---> forza, AC, Fifa, Pes, CoD...every damm year (not so big improovement) mediocre games. (For forza fans I know it have its great strenghts, name it sound, livery editor and good career mode) but they could do way more better games if they took the time to do so, take for example forza 5 and 6 ...not big success.
To GT fans...we...the ones who use to say GT have dynamic weather and that crap, we have those no more!, and now you dont say anything?
Please..open your eyes!
