Yes, you need a PS1 memory card to save the game as well though, a PS2 card wont work.

Well, it looks worse, and you can't use PS2 a dual-shock controller on the PS2 to play GT2. GT2 only picks up games from slot 1, but you can indeed play from both slots if you want to trade or something like that.

You may want to chage the PS2 settings so that texture smoothing occurs, it takes away a little bit of the rough edges that PSX games were designed with.

After about 15 minutes, it's not bad to look at. Of course, this comes from someone who fires up the old Atari 2600 every so often.

I use my memory card in slot 2 and it just doesn't autoload it at gamestart, you have to do it from the menu selection. And also, the Dual Shock 2 works fine, it just doesn't use the 'analog buttons' of course because the original PS did not have this feature. Just use the analog sticks for steering and acceleration/braking. Texture smoothing doesn't do a whole lot for the looks though.

I stuck the original Gran Turismo in the other day, it looked horrible at first, you think to yourself howdid this ever get called realistic looking, but like Pupik said, after 15-20 mins your used to it and just enjoying the game.
