Gt2 problem on PS2!

Hello i bought GT2 pal version and i tried to play it on my pal ps2 but i have a weird problem with GT mode disc.
I can play for like 40 minutes and then the music start glitching (only bgm not sfx) and it getting worse and worse and then the game freezes and console make sound like when you turn it on. Sometimes before freeze the music dissapear and game starts lagging. Arcade mode runs perfect and the gt disc had almost no scratches and works fine on my friends ps3. Sorry for my bad English.

Likely a slightly damaged disc. The ps3 lens is much better and probably reads it anyway.

I don't know but it works also on my second friend psx.

Try cleaning the disc, have a look to see if there are any deep scratches in it. Also try and buy a laser cleaning disc or if you feel confident open up the PS2 to give it a clean.

sounds like the ps2 lens is going bad then. There are tutorials on youtube on how to adjust the voltage of your lens specifically for cd games.
