I know this is the GT3 forum, but there is more activity here. So, I went out the other day and bought GT2, I must say, all in all, so far mind you, I am dissapointed, but I will go on. Anyways, what would be a good car to buy in the very beginning. I started with a used GT-Four Celica and then bought me a '67 Mercury Cougar. What would be good now?

if my memory serves me i think the best starting cars are the toyota trueno and the mazda miata.the toyota is a little faster but the miata is prettier.whatever you do if you love to race, don`t stop it is a great game.

I think he is talking about gt2, not gt3. :)
In gt2 a supra or a skyline are great cars for the majority of the game. Then you need to get the 'scud (escudo).
Enjoy the classic!

My memory is kinda rusty for that far back, but I do remember that I worked my way up to buying a Mazda RX-7. I done that so I could race in the RX-7 races and cash in for 10,000 each time. I done that for a while until I had the cash to get something more competitive and went out to race bigger things. Then I could win cars and more cash faster. Anyway, have fun!!

I thought this was the GT2 forum.... :odd:
Anywayz welcome to the forums. The best car for me (I bought it all 3 times I restarted the game) was the Toyota Supra, the cheapest one, the one with 266 hp. It is powerful and can win at least the sunday/clubman cups easily. After that, upgrade it with better tires and take on the FR cup and all the other matching hp class cups. After that, money will fall from the sky!! :D :D

i know.if your starting fresh you can`t afford those cars,i don`t think.

There are lots of good FR cars to buy in the very beginning, but my favorite car is the Mazda Protege GT-X. I don't know if the Toyota Starlet '82 is available, but that's a cool one too.

Anywya, sounds like you've already started and need another car. My advice is to use what you have to win prize cars. The two cars you have can win at leats the first two races of their respective drivetrain challenges easily.

If you really want to buy a car, I suggest an MR layout. If you can save up the cash, the Venturis are amazing. Otherwise, go for an MR2, preferably a newer model. Alternately, you could try an FF car, but tyou're going to win tons of civics eventually anyway.

Another option, if you want a new car, is to get golds on a couple of the license tests. B is easy, and IB wasn't too hard IIRC.

B Campbell has the right idea on trying to win golds on license tests. Then you can use your money to modify it.

I saved until I could buy a 3000 GT. The ones in the used lot are good. Not a lot of handleing (the car is heavy) but lots of power. As soon as I got it moded enough, I raced the third race in the convertible cup and won a Dodge concept car. This car rocks... You can use it to win tons of higher horsepower races...

I ended up going with a used FTO, myself. It was a nice little car...Still have it, in fact, in a corner of my garage. You're probably not going to win the higher-level challenges with it, but it's a fine beginning to mid-level car, IMHO.

not as good handling as the one on gt3, but its worth stickin at the game to aquire the viper team oreca (the one on gt2)
