Right now this is just an interest check. The objective of this series would be to learn more about tuning cars in GT2 and to develop as a better driver. Each round will last 1 week and we will study each car for 3 rounds. Each car will represent a class of cars. After each car, there will be rewards for Best Driver, Best Mechanic, Most Improved Driver, and Most Improved Mechanic. There would be criteria for each award which will be specified when/if this series gets started.

We will study car classes such as:

-Domestic (American)
-Foriegn (European and Japanese)
-FF Drivetrain
-AWD Drivetrain
-Historic
-Muscle
-Rally
-Drag Racing
-Oval Racing

There will also be a finale round to put your skills to the test.

Since the purpose of this is to help people, not conquer them, you can share any race times or settings.

If you would like to suggest ideas to improve this series don't hesitate.

Sounds like an interesting premise. Everything I learn I take back to GT3. I believe I am faster in each game due to what I have learned here at GTPlanet.

I have questions as well:
1. Are we gonna start stock to get a baseline? Then tune freely?
2. Or are we gonna, as a group, add a specific part or set of parts and tune to find out what works best?
3. Are FF cars missing because they aren't all that fast anyway (except the Integra)?

Depending on when you start, count me in. I am currently in StreetRacer 780's GT3 Street Racing Challenge, SaleenASL's Ford Challenge, and The GT2 High Speed Challenge. So, I'm a little busy keeping things straight. Plus, My Gran Turismo notebook keeps going missing.
:D But, as time permits, I would be happy to share anything I learn. :D
Of course, keep in mind that I'm no Mr. P, Talentless, or JBSchumacher.
And, in another thread someone questioned which car was better The WRX Ver. 6 or the EVO 6. I may start a Spot race thread to see if anyone else is interested in finding out the answer. Or, it could be a sub-thread here for the tuning classes.

To begin, I meant to put FF drivetrain instead of FR :embarrassed: . Sorry. Next, the following classes of cars will be race-bodied:

-Rally
-Drag Race
-Historic
-Oval Racing

The rest are to be regular bodied. There will be a different car each week with certain mods that I will specify at the begining of their respective rounds. We will work at a different track each week also. I will work on a car list and have one prepared by tomorrow.

If you have further questions please ask.

Very interesting list. Seca and the Viper are gonna be the one I spend the most time on. The corkscrew, rainey curve and the Viper together. This is gonna be interesting.

I am excited to announce that I will be running this series. Unfortunately, I will not have the free time to begin it untill likely mid July. Hopefully I'll get some more extremely talented OLR vets interested in this. I'm thinking maybe Fogelhund or a bunch of the guys from the Historic Sportscar Series. Thank you for showing interest guys.

Yep. This series won't be up and running probably for 2-5 weeks. Thanks for the interest, and watch the Long Race Series Forum for more info.

Interested but undecided.
Not sure on what time allocations I have to run or practice this, but sounds very interesting. :D
Keep us informed.

The PS is over at my Dad's so I can't work on anything right away, however, I will make sure and get the car mods done this weekend. I'll remind you that this series won't begin for awhile. I'm currently starting the second season of my GST series, so I'll be quite busy for awhile. Looke for the tuning school to begin within the next month.
