GT3 Game Engine

I'm aware that a lot of FPS use the same engine to power several different games through. Quake 3 has been used for a few different games, (same can be said for Half Life)

Anybody know if Sony intend to licence out the GT3 engine so that other developers could base other racing genres around it???

I think that this could be the only way that GT3 will lose its definitive driving game status.

I've thought about this too. I think that the only times I've seen a video game using another games engine is in the case of ONI (PS2) which used the Lithtech engine (PC game Shogo), and Matt Hoffman Pro BMX uses the Tony Hawk engine. I'm hopeful that Sony leases out some of their talent in the upcoming system war with Microsoft and Nintendo.
