I've been playing GT3 a bit recently. Getting all my old hybrids out of the garage, dusting them off, and having some fun. I forgot just how fun they can be. So, I started thinking about making some new hybrids. I downloaded MK's program (Glad it's still available to download:tup:), and purchased another Sharkport. I also made sure my PS2 would be compatible with the Sharkport (original big PS2). Everything installed on the PC, and ran fine on the PS2. PC program showed a connected icon, and so forth. Everything went fine until I went to backup my memory card to the PC. I received a message saying "Error connecting to PS2". I've contacted customer support, and they haven't been much help. So baring anyone here helping troubleshoot, I think the Sharkport may be a lost cause.

Is there another, less problematic way of getting your PS2 saves onto your PC? Maybe another product, like the X-Port?

;)

Xport and Sharkport were the same thing. Shark was US and X was Europe.

Make sure everything is connected up and the memory card in slot 1 before you put the CD in the PS2.

Everything seems to be hooked up fine. USB cord is connected between the PS2 and PC. Memory card is in slot 1 (and another in slot 2). PC disc installed with no problems. I followed the instructions provided to the letter.

EDIT: I just talked to Customer Support again, and was informed the program is not compatible with Vista (another reason to hate Vista)

Looks like I'll be buying that laptop for the girlfriend (with XP). She's wanted one for a while, and I need XP, to run some programs that Vista denies.

Kinda delayed response. You need to have cheat software that can backup save onto a USB Drive, and transport the save to your PC that way.
I think the Sharkport is a lost cause, I have one but since I burned out my 1st edition PS2, I have been unable to use it. The 2nd edition PS2 and beyond does not work well (or at all) with the sharkport.

But if you are getting back into Mk's program and hybriding use this handy resource created by myself in xls format.

Was able to get it working by importing the save onto a USB (Like you said). My first gen PS2 still works a treat, so no worries there.

Thank you for the resource...

Try some or all of these upgrades.
My best so far is 9202HP with 0.0 Miles on the car.
I Used a Shelby Cobra, and made it a 4WD Hybrid.

Miata MX-5 - Muffler (11.11% increase)
New Beatle 2.0 - NA Tune (153.21% increase)
New Beatle 2.0 - Port & Polish (16.51% increase)
New Beatle 2.0 - Engine Balancing (10.09% increase)
Mini Cooper 1.3i - Displacement Up (6.78% increase)
Zonda C12 - Racing Chip (9.84% increase)
Alto Works Sports Limited - Turbo Kit (245.9% increase)
3000GT VR-4 Turbo - Intercooler (25.49% increase)

Sample 001 - Engine (967 HP / 14,000 RPM)
Vertigo Race Car - Chassis

If I can find my GT3 hybrid saved car I'll post my 100,000+HP Shelby Cobra (I had to greatly increase the downforce settings to be able to even remotely control that monster.

I'm more into the realistic hybrids, or "real-brids". I have a few monsters on the Ol' memory card as well, but most are attempts at realistic conversions.

The realistic converts are far better, but sometimes it's nice to see how far you can push the game's ai, I have locked the game up in wheelie mode @ around 1 GigaMPH , and jumped off of the track a few times.

But I like tossing a racing engine, trans, suspension, etc. into a street car and tweaking downforce, and see how perfect I can make a car for a specific track.
