Hi! Why most Americans prefer GT3 more than GT4 and 5?

Answer me.

Is it because...

Is It Saves Time?
Too Easy?
Look like Real Life?
Sound llike Real Life?

It provides a challenge. The money grinding in GT4 and 5 is outrages. In GT3 you actually needed to have skill and the right car in order to win. So that's why it's more epic than GT4 or 5

I'm English and gt3 is my favourite, largely due to nostalgia, I got my 1st ps2 back in Xmas of 01 along with gt3 as my first ever ps2 game, as a 10yr old at the time, and considering the time it came out, the graphics and realism was mind blowing, kinda like when I played gta 3 for the first time, soundtrack kicked ass too, good old feeder days, well that's just my little story anyway

Most people love GT3 in North America because they got it with their PS2 bundles during Christmas. Most of the people I've known that played both GT3 and GT4 usually prefer GT4 for its content and graphics.

GT4 was quite challenging, especially that final Driving Mission.

Yeah, I think I'd count GT4 as the overall most challenging. The Driving Mission was a lesson in patience/insanity. The Europeans also got some much harder license tests than we did.

That said, GT5 is the only one I haven't been able to beat every single challenge with a gold yet; that damned last Vettel challenge is about .2 off, and I've not had the patience to try it again in well over a year.

Because if you sucked at a race, there was no B-Spec to finish it for you. The AI was acceptable, the graphics were out of their time, the sounds are solid, the upgrades are great, it's just mind-numbingly simple, but everything works so well in that game that it makes it amazing.

I love how they also have many of Senna's F1 cars (among others) in this game as well, that's something really cool.

GT3 had a perfect mix of realism and fun in my opinion.

And the part I liked most is, to be fast, you had to actually drive your car.

I don't quite lend myself to the thinking here. I'd say I prefer GT4, but I love GT3 dearly, as it was my introduction to the series, and my favourite band! :)

GT4 is my least favorite. 3 was a good game. It had a nice layout, and not everything understeered. Setting the physics to drift mode was fun, a lot better than GT4's physics from what I remember. The only real downside was the small number of cars and the removal of the GT2 Viper GTS-R Team Oreca.

The best part of GT3 was the ability to easily create hybrids using Mks program. I put more time into GT3 than any of the GT games combined. GT4 was pretty good. Most already know my opinion of GT5. No sense in going there.

While GT3 is harder, it's not quite for the right reasons.

1. The difficulty spikes up way early (fully modify your car or lose all hope of winning)
2. Most of the prize cars are practically useless (Win the car you needed to buy to even race)

Unless you do all the license tests and bonus challenges to get half-decent cars, you'll spend most of the game grinding the same race repeatedly so you can afford a car with actual performance.

I love GT3 a lot more 4 or 5 4 was ok but i hated if you got sideways and counter stered you'ed be in a wall but the tracks on gt4 were good and he rally tracks were sweeeet but GT3 had SSR11 or 12 i cant remember but it was long for a SSR also that track i cant remember but it was like midvalley i belive but its my favorite GT :D

It's for none of those reasons. And also it's not just Americans that prefer GT3 over GT4 and 5. I prefer it too and I would give up both my GT5 and GT4 disc just to have GT3 back again. GT3 set the bar on which every GT game should be like, a good balance between realism and fun while providing a challenge for experienced racers and not being too hard for casual racers.

In GT3, the game actually challenges you while in GT4 and 5 you become financially independent way too quickly. I spend money in GT5 without even realizing it. One more bad point about GT4 + 5 is that the AI is too easy (not so much GT4, mostly GT5) and I'm pretty sure most people will agree. I mean, when you're about to overtake a CPU controlled car in GT5, you can hear them lifting off the throttle and they just let you through as if a blue flag was waved at them.

But in the corners is when the AI is at it's worst. 80% of the time you will be faster than the AI around corners even if they are using faster cars than you. They break too much at the apex and take their time going around corners; you try going around them but you only end up in the barriers/grass/sand. But if you try to get them on the inside, they just end up taking the whole of the inside line and you will rear-end them loosing precious speed :banghead: . I'm sorry, but I can't recall GT3 AI either being this easy or this annoying, and they actually know how to drive cars well. This is the reason why at least I prefer GT3 over any other GT game I've played

EDIT: I also prefer GT3 because it seems finished unlike GT5. GT4 also seemed finished and it actually wasn't too bad. But the only thing that's occupying us in GT5 is half-🤬 seasonal events which also contribute to being financially independent too soon in the game.

True true, on gt5 the ai doesn't seem to give a dam about anything except following the queue, back in gt3 you try to get by them n they were like "f off you ain't winning s***, I also vividly remember spending hours of my life on the Seattle circuit special licence test, winning the old ford gt race car at the end of that was like being sent a gift from god, ah the good old days

Those were the days, wasn't it? That license test took me quite a bit too.

Alot of people here don't want the GT series to be a mixture of fun and realism ,they (including me)want full out realism with impressive physics ,so as far as driving goes GT5 blows away GT3 .

Regarding the A.I being easy Maybe it is because most of us have converted to wheels making us much faster than when using the controller ,but yes PD should implement a A.I difficulty settings because as it stands offline gameplay is getting really boring.

Oh and I am not saying I enjoyed GT5 more than GT3 (jury still not out) btw

Yes, as far as driving physics goes, GT5 is much more realistic and better than GT3 but that wasn't the point that I was trying to make. Plus it's not just the realism which creates an impression of what a racing game is like. If every single racing game was purely focused on realism, then they would all seem very similar in style and would become boring.

Yes, wheels will make you faster but this isn't always the case. You will always have people using controllers that could give wheel users a run for their money. But even so, on straights a wheel or controller will make no difference on how fast you are. If you get near to an AI controlled car then you can literally hear them lifting off the throttle and I'm saying that this is ridiculous. No other AI in other games does that for sure  .

Yes I do agree ,almost every single racing game has better A.I than GT5, but it seems the A.I have been tuned to be less aggressive (yes they do.lift off mid corners alot) maybe the algorithm they use makes the A.I more aggressive so they had to tone it down, but of course this mustn't be an issue come GT6

GT3 was crazy hard, if you wanted to win in a underleved car you needed skill. The events were hard and I still haven't got my S license.

GT4 was easy, got my licenses with ease and the prizes were in the wrong place which made it more easy.

GT5 just wanted you to win.

Amen. Amen. Perfect mix of the simulation realism and arcade fun.
