GT3 too lax with requirements

Does it bother anyone else that you can race a skyline in the american championship or a 'vette in the brittish gt car cup? I had forgotten how lax GT3 was in race entries until I recently began playing again after too much GT4. I was just curious how many people out there will only enter the races with the kinds of cars that that are supposed to be in the race? Just wanted to see if I'm in the minority or if most people follow the same unwritten rule. Don't even get me started on how it lets you take a F-1 car up against production cars in most cases. Thanks

Been a while since I played GT3 but yeah I do remember how this used to bug me. I used to pretend the rules were in place to stop you from using non-American cars in the American championship and non-British cars blah blah.

Am I correct in thinking that it was also GT3 that forgot to include drag racing or something that stopped you from completing it 100%? I'm sure it was GT3 you could only get to 98.8% completion, might have been GT2, like I said, It's been a while.

I personally don't mind because GT3 doesn't have as large a car selection and money is pretty skimpy in the Beginner's League. It would suck to all the sudden need to buy a European car after I've been putting all my money into a Japanese car, for instance. Also, if I'm entering a race like the British GT Cup, I like to think I'm a driver (American, Japanese, Australian) who is representing his country with a car FROM that country. Pretty dorky I know :embarrassed:

I agree with you on the F1 car comment wholeheartedly, but I take it a step further> I refuse to race any car with downforce against NDF (non-downforce) cars. That's just bogus & cheating.

Have you tried GT2 at all? That game is the laxest. You can enter a Corvette in the Station Wagon Series fer cryin' out loud. In comparison, GT3 is a lot stricter.

Its more like American tracks than a series for just American cars. At one point Porshe had Corvetts baned from SCCA races because they were winning all the races. Can you imagine?
I didn't race any non formula one races with the F-1 cars untill I was at 100% After that I did some just for fun. It was
just one mistake of many by PD that made it way to easy to cheat. (In GT-2 you could not get 100%) But at least there were
HP classes.

You're thinking of GT2.

You're thinking of GT2. Version 1.0 could only make 98.2% because the game programmers forgot to de-program drag racing from the percentage totals. In version 1.2, they finally corrected this.

It is quite stupid that you can enter Japanese cars in American Cups, you could'nt even do it in GT2 so why make it possible in GT3?

Wrong. In GT2 they have the GT Nationals and Regionals... Pacific and European. You can enter any car in these, as long as it's below 594 horsepower (NTSC). You must be thinking of GT1's America vs. British, American vs. Japanese, and British vs. Japanese races. These 3 series are country-limited. Anyways, I don't see what the big deal is, but whatever. I'll keep entering my BMW in the American Championships and my Cobra R in Japan....as long as I got the right horsepower & parts to create a fair race, I don't see no problem.
