Congratulations to the winner of last week's competition: Magikrio

tahitibeach26owp7fi.jpg

He has chosen not to specify a theme for this week's competition. So, away we go....

The Theme: There is no theme. The concept of art is your own

The cars: Unlimited

The tracks: Unlimited

How it's done:

Entries will be posted in this thread. Please view ALL the entries using the ImageShack thumbnail and rate the entry using the rating scale under the picture. Please rate ALL entries, even if you don't like them. The entry period for this competition will end on Friday evening (approx. 6 pm US CDT GMT-5). No more entries will be accepted after the entry period has closed. The rating of the entries will continue through Sunday evening. Only entries that have had 10 or more users rate their entry will be eligible for the final poll. The Top Ten rated pictures will then be placed into a poll on Sunday evening and the poll will run for 5 days. If a theme is desired it will be chosen by that week's winner.

The Rules:

There aren't many so listen up.

  • You may only use background scenery, cars, trucks, SUVs or race cars that are in GT4.
  • You may use as much or as little Photoshop (or other editing software) as you like. The idea is to CREATE a picture/photo that would/could be considered artistic.
  • REMEMBER that everyone has a different idea of what is artistic and what isn't. So absolutely NO FLAMING someone for what they consider art.
  • An entry consists of a "Thumbnail for Forums 1" from ImageShack AND a preview MUST be included with your entry. Max size for the preview is 400x300.
  • You may not ask to have the members of this forum to make your final choice.
  • Failure to follow ALL the rules may result in disqualification.
  • That's it.

DEADLINE: 14 April 6 pm (US Central Time GMT-5)

Now, let's see that art. :cheers

Awesome shot man, thats a proper headpuck! You got my vote! 👍 It would be cool if there was a non-mirrored car racing next to it, but maybe thats a little too hard to do?

I really didn't even think of that, I may have to experiment with it for the next comp. Thanks for all the comments guys 👍!

With such accolades, dare i say that this competition has already been won? *shakes head* I hope not. Thats not to say that the shot is bad. Kudos deserverd 👍

need more entries

I'm just now starting to rate these entries (if image shack would cooperate), and some of these ratings are very low, like mags is a 5.33 which is rediculous, and alot of others are 6 or less. I know there have been only a few votes but dang. Lets get some more votes in!!!

Final Entry

I know the final picture isn't that big, in fact it's the same size as the preview, but this is due to me deleting the wrong file from my computer and being too lazy to redo the pic.

Man, I don't know about this rating system. It just seems messed up on imageshack's part. I'm looking and voting at one point, it will say 3 votes...6.8 rating or something. After 5 minutes of waiting for my vote to go through, it will say something like 12 people have voted and 7.2 or something. What a cooky system. I wish they would either get it working correctly or there was another way to vote. Just a little anoyying I guess. Great entries so far though guys, lots of variety 👍!

Well the number of people voting has little to do with the rating of the picture. The bad part about it is that image shack i believe is public (ie guests can vote i think), some people dont rate other pictures at all. You may have 1 vote thats a 10 but since other people didnt vote, it could really be more like a 7 as an average of everyones oppinions.

The only good thing about image shack is that it's anonymous, and it lets people know that eventhough they might not have won or gotten into the top 5, that their picture still might be pretty good etc etc.

I personally think the traditional voting system is far more effective.

So what you're proposing is that all entries get voted on to make the Top 10? That would be rather redundant wouldn't? Or just have every entry be in a poll? I can't think of another way of getting the entries into a poll without someone "picking" the poll. That would then mean that someone's interpretation of "art" would be the deciding factor of who's in the poll and who's not.

Ah see, i was under the impression that it was for this stage of voting ie top 10 or w/e. I do agree that it would be a bit redundant using this method to determine entries that you would end up using the same method on. The fact still remains that the other way of polling/ranking is quite quirky and still not very effective unless people do it the right way. Even then, if image shack is public and anonymous, it even makes it worse.

I first thought that the top few were chosen just like any other competition but not that you do mention the art bit, it would seem somewhat unfair to have one person use their own interpretation.
