I know most of you will suggest a wheel, but that's out of my price range at the moment.

I need a wireless DS2 controller, and am looking for suggestions on the best route to go. I had a Pelican that I paid $20 for at Wal-Mart, but it's breaking down pretty quickly. The left analog, when pressed right, occasionally goes left. Quite frustrating. That, and the rubber is coming off the stick. Without grip, my thumb tends to slip.

So, balancing money and quality, what is the best way to go? Thanks in advance! :)

You're not that far from Affton, MO right? There's a used DFGT wheel for $50 for sale on Craigslist there. Ok, so it's going to be $25 - 35 more than a new wireless DS2, but justify it this way, it'll enrich your GT4 experience so much, especially while you get used to it, that you won't be spending money anywhere else, won't be stopping for an extra beer as you try to shave off another 1/10th, etc., etc! By this rationale it'll have paid for itself in no time! ;)

I wish it were that simple. Can't use a wheel for Shadow of the Colossus and Metal Gear Solid 3. :yuck:

Thanks for the research, though. :)

If it's just distance that's the issue, you could use a wired DS2 controller and a cord extender thingy. I've had no experience with the wireless/off-brand controllers - both off-brand turbo controllers that I have had are terrible things that wear out within 3 or 4 months.

Heh, I can't tell you how many times my young daughters have tripped over the cord running in and out of the living room.
