Anyone notices that one of the prize F1 cars in GT3 just disappears after the first time doing the Laguna Seca Enduro?

Used to be a F686/M, F687/S, Calsonic Skyline, and Toyota Altezza LM, but now theres only the F686/M, Calsonic Skyine, and Toyota Altezza LM.

*:scared:*

EDIT: Would've posted in the GT3 section, but there's no discussion thread there like this one.

If you go into the GT3 forum, right below the list of subforums and right above the main GT3 list of topics, there's a button with a green cross and the legend "New Thread". If you click on that button you can then post your question in the GT3 forum.

Hope this helps :)

I'm glad that my Jaguar Jr-9 whatever can only place 3rd on the GTWC on the first race...

Even with the stage 4 turbo...

It's because I have medium tires and I have to pit crossing into lap 6 of 10...

And of course.....of course, first and second place cars don't pit at all...

That only happens if they're Pescarolo's

Oh, thanks.

Actually I used the Jaguar on an Endurance race, won that Minolta Toyota, and put a stage 4 turbo in it.

Then I b-spec'd the Tokyo rave in GTWC, and won. So I guess that's what i'll have to do for the whole championship.

Gah... How do you beat the Opel Speedster series ! ?

I MAXED out the freakin car: tried in A-spec and B-spec, and sill coultn get out of 6th place.

Help please?

Do a search, there was a thread on it the other day in here, and use the edit function when you need to add something to your original post.👍

Yea I just read "Old Man's" race report on it...

and sorry, all the other forum sites I go to, don't have a rule against double posting, so I get into a habit of doing it.

What i did was to fully tune the Speedster Turbo and lower the final gear a bit. Do this with the 206 cup as well if you need it.

I THINK there is a thread about the difficulty of the -200 pts- Speedster race, so you may find your answers you are looking for there.

Could someone please tell me the name of the man who designed the suzuka circuit??

It's vital that I know just who could be bland enough to design such an anti-racing circuit such as that... monstrosity. *Loads his rifle*

Racing line doesn't seem to matter at all (That's a slight exaggeration) on that track, it's just throttle control. :\ It's boring!! (In my always correct opinion)

Now, what's the dead man's name? :D I mean it when I say that I am going to rip his guts out and strangle him to death with them.

Ah, and breathe.

I was going to answer you straight out, but you seem such a pompous ignorant that I'd rather just let you know that it's an awesome track, preferred by racers and the public alike because it poses a great challenge to drive. So your "always correct opinion" can't be farther from the truth.

Wikipedia
Designed as a Honda test track in 1962 by John Hugenholtz, Suzuka is a unique circuit, being one of the very few in the world to have a figure 8 layout... Due to its unique layout, Suzuka is a massive test of driver skill and is easily one of the most difficult racing circuits in the world. Nevertheless, the track is loved by drivers and spectators alike for its challenging design and many opportunities for overtaking.

Personally, it's one of the best tracks to watch and race on. Being quick, as my not-so-good WRS record there shows, is very tough - but enjoying it is far, far simpler. There's nothing like passing the Spoon complex satisfyingly and preparing for the monsterous 130R, and just when you think the tough part's over - you have to judge the brakes well to land in the middle of the blind Casio Triangle. Not that the Esses, double-lefters and hairpins are easier... As a whole, the track just "flows" - one corner after the other, yet sufficient "cool-off" periods in between.

Ah, I knew my tongue in cheek 'I'm always right' would draw out at least one elitist who'd take it to heart. Sorry I touched a nerve, son.

Anyway, Gingiba I like how you debate your point.

There are bits that flow, but generally from GT4 at least (I havent raced on the real Suzuka) it just feels narrow and fiddly. Now, in a real racing car, in a real race in real life I'm sure it's wonderful, but after racing on it in series after series it... gets tired. I find it arduously annoying, because it seems like there's only one line on that track, only one way to do things. :(

Hypnotoad, if you do a search you'll find several theards on the subject of "favorite track", and Suzuka always gets a good deal more nods than the majority of tracks in GT4... so while you certainly have the right to your opinion, it would appear that yours is among the minority in this case.

I wanted to know the name of the guy who designed it, I know there is circuits you love/hate threads. I'm not new here, I know there's a search function, I just figured this was the right thread, seeing as it's a rather general question.

I also know people like the track, I know this because I've seen these threads, but I didn't think there was a specific thread for the track itself, I apologise for that, and once again; to everyone who really likes that track, I have my opinion if you are of a different mindset, cool!! Tell me you like it, but don't (and I'm not saying anyone is) take what I say to heart, 'cause what I think doesn't affect your game play, you'll still love it.

I love el capitan, I love the fact that your car can kick out and kill you at any second, I love pulling off a fast lap there, my friend Carl hates it. Every time we race it he whine's throughout, but I don't let that affect my enjoyment, 'cause I love the track, at first I was 'meh' about it, but it really grew on me, some tracks didn't. Suzuka was one of them.

Sorry I touched a nerve, son.

I'm not your son, so don't play the condescending card with me

What you don't seem to have seen is that we prefer people who ask for things nicely and don't get all hissy fitted when they don't like a track.

You see, Diego... you read my post all wrong!!

Now, maybe I was graphic in it, yes, but it wasn't an attack, or a moan.

I GENUINELY wanted to know who designed the circuit, so I could see if he or she has designed any other circuits, so I can compare the circuits, and maybe!! Just maybe get more of an insight into what went into the designing process. Now, should I have said that?? Yes!! Instead, I said that I wanted to rip his guts out and strangle him to death with them.

But that's partly down to the fact I don't like the track, which is not what the question was about, that was mini gripe and nothing more, it was meaningless blabber. I just wanted to know the guy's name, as you said, you could have just told me, but you didn't. You called me ignorant and implied I was big headed because I jested at knowing everything, now!! Don't shoot me, but I think the problem is something might have got lost in translation here... Text that might look offensive, that isn't actually meant to be.

That's just the way people talk here in scummy Bournemouth! As for calling you Son?? Well, I don't like it when I get called pompus, so y'know... glass houses, stones etc.

I seriously hope people don't take anything said here by anyone to heart, and that when they log off they don't spend their day being offended by what is basically text that can't hurt you, maybe you don't like reading graphic descriptions of what I want to do to people who design tracks I'm not big on, but don't take it to heart! When I don't like something much instead of saying 'that's crap' or 'I don't like that' I tend to express my dissatifaction in detail, constructively, so that someone like Gingiba can come in with their own detailed opinion, and who knows?? They might say something and I might say 'YEAH!!' and all of a sudden my opinion could be changed, that's what forums are for, you know. But you don't need me to tell you that.

Either way, I'm not pompus, I'm not ignorant and I'm not out to offend anybody, I'm sorry that since I've been away from the forum things seem to have got a little more sensitive, maybe something happened?? But please don't shoot me such ridiculous things, a mountain's been made out of this relative mole-hill and had diego not attacked me and just said 'I don't like how you assesed Suzuku my beleif is... etc' then I'd have probably said what I said to Gingiba, that yes, I was exaggerating.

Anyway, hopefully someone knows the guys name and could possibly tell me what other tracks he's worked on, 'cause that's what I wanted to know in the first place. Maybe next time on this global forum I'll keep my opinions to myself?? Hmmm.

;)

However, I agree with you for the most part, I find a lot of Suzuka to be a bit dull.
But it's worth it all for 130R, my second favourite corner of any track (as if anything could beat Druids in my affections :P )

It's a godly corner, yes. But you're right, it's not quite enough.

And thank you!! Now I can read!!

Edit - He designed the Hockenheimring!! I love that course, I can sort of see some of the same thinking in it, from turn 2 to 7 definately.

His other circuits don't seem to look quite as impressive, but I'd definately love to see the Hockenheimring in GT.

Hopefully I'll be able to find out more about his influences in making circuits, wikipedia is typically vague.

Alot places you can get information from these days on the internet just copy what wikipedia has up for things like that, and seeing as anyone can write anything on wikipedia (Some sicko wrote Richard Hammond had died, so when I was looking for news stories after hearing about his crash, I genuinely thought he was dead) so I try to avoid using it unless there is no other option.

You'd be suprised how limited information about Suzuka (and by that I mean relevent, 'meaty' information) is, and how hard it is to come across on the net. It looks like the best way forward would be to pop down the library.

Shame really, you'd think there'd be a site dedicated to the worlds race tracks, filled with worthwhile infomation. :\ ...Please tell me there is!

Its still a work in progress, but with over 500 circuits listed, most with a reasonable amount of detail (but certainly not all at this stage) and a map its certainly a useful starting point.

I'm in two minds about Suzuka. I agree it is one of the world's great circuits and it is a tremendous challenge and a real driver's circuit, but the sheer difficulty of the challenge makes it hard to enjoy, for any driver who is less than "top shelf".

Though i guess that is something is shouldn't complain about.........

Well, for me the Nurburgring was similar. I liked it at first, but because it was so challenging, I didn't enjoy it (also because of Mission 34). Only through playing it over and over, learning the curves, ups and downs and everything else did I start to enjoy it, to a point where I did all of my testing in it, and even went and entered the Nurburgring Challenge (link in my sig), and just yesterday finished my own NC.

The 'ring is great, grew on me back when I was playing forza, racing online in the club I was in's custom race-painted Jaguar XJ220's...

Imagine racing along, danger zone blasting from the telly, someone singing 'I'm so ronry' to put you off down the headset, all the time buzzing around your tail as you're working over time to stop your 240 mph boat (Jaguar) from kicking out and killing you... THAT's racing!! Gah! I love the 'ring!!

I remember when a clean lap was the holy grail!!

Hey guys and gals !!

i was just wondering if someone could direct me to a thread relating to driving challenges and what not in gt4... sort of like having a car with certain settings and trying to beat a certain time? i dunno...

Just like time trials with certain cars and settings and with goal times that are realistic yet challenging...

i just think its a good idea and im sure something is out there but i am yet to find it with a search...

Cheers guys!
