Hi All,

Been hotlapping both the Mk1 Golf GTi, and the '01 Golf GTi, and you know what, they have got the feel of these down to a tee.

Many of the cars in GT4 do not feel that close to RL, but if you drive both of these cars back-to-back it gives you a very good idea of the differences between them.

The '76 feels spritely, lively, sure footed, pretty much like the real one, where-as the '01 Gti, although quicker, feels fat, heavy and understeery, again, just like the real one.

PD have done a good job on these 2.

Another top notch machine is the Nissan Siliva 240RS, that is probably my fav car in GT4 not only does it look and sound nice, it goes real well and is a dream to drift 👍

Driving the MK1 Golf GTI is amazing to drive, its one of the couple cars that took me by complete surprise. Also in that category? The Clio! Oh man is this car fun to drive, and looks so sexy in pink, lol. :)

Those cars are OK, but they can't beat the Renault 5 Turbo. That car is awesome. I hope I get my PS2 back from repairs by tomorrow so I can start playing again.

Man I love that Mk1 Golf. Lively isn't the word. The thing is on its toes all the time. Looks great too with the wheels slightly out of the bodywork. I've entered the latest photomode comp with it. 👍 Come vote for it.:p

I got the 240rs ages ago but haven't tried it yet. Thats tonights mission, take it out 'round Seattle, my adopted test track.

The '05 Golf is probably the best FF in the game, even with the lack of 5th gear (my NTSC-J copy a stock 05' has no 5th, 4th to 5th is no change, an extra step to 6th really...seems like there is a build error in the car)...but still, great car!

The other golfs don't impress me much, but the '05 is a gem!

That new Golf GTI is coming in fall to America, just fyi. It is my favorite FF car in the game, but I wish the rear styling was better :P

I love the Golf I. I did the GTI Cup and had to save the series short so I could earn one in my car's color- Mars Red... see my sig 👍

It appears in the '80s 2nd hand garage ONCE in 694 days, if you miss it you'll have to wait for the next cycle.

Can i use the HpS (iirs) Golf the one in the special models bit, for the hatchback series? in euro hall

I'll have to disagree with the mk5 Golf GTI '05 being the best handling FF car in GT4. The Acura/Honda Integra Tyre R is my favourite FF handling car so far. It's nice a light weight, and the things grips like no other car in the car.

I do like driving the mk1 and mk5 Golf's. But For me the mk1 is far too rapid. It's only got a 1600cc, and they were never fast cars. So I feel the modelling is not quite spot on. VW released a 1800cc in '82, to help with the top speed and torque.

I like the tuned up golf, forgotten what it's called but it's based on an r32 i think. That's seriously hot! Feels heavy though.

I bought mine on day 499, again from the 80's used car showroom, very nice car.

I've raced alot with the Golf GTI not the MK5 and for me it's a little better then the Integra.

i just got the 240RS rally car might be race car!

can anyone tell me if the HPS (iirc) Golf can go in the hatchback championship?

The Mk1 Golf is amazing. I own one in real life, though mine is only a rubish 1.3 :grumpy:

I've tuned one up in the game to 157bhp (you can get more, but no need yet) and I've been getting just over 8mins on the nurb, compared to 9mins 20 when it was stock. Handles like a dream.
