GT4 PAL + Driving Force EX

(edit: moved this from the wheels and cockpits thread as it's a pretty specific GT4 related question..)

Hi there, I recently got a Logitech Driving Force EX wheel and I'm trying to use it with GT4 on a PAL PS2. It's not really working out :)

with a lot of help from MasterGT, I've now realized that the game is simply not recognizing the wheel properly - it's being detected as a 1st generation GT Force instead of a 2nd gen GT Force/Driving Force wheel.

Logitech won't assume whether or not something has been changed in the newer wheels that would break compatibility, so my last 2 guesses are that either the newer wheels won't send the correct data to the PS2, or that PAL versions of the game won't detect the wheel correctly.

Which takes me to my question today, has anyone here played GT4 on a PAL console using the Force EX wheel and managed to get it configured properly? If so, how old is your wheel? Anyone else having similar problems?

I found a thread on logitech's forums where some people had exactly the same problem and as far as I know, they were using a PAL copy as well. So far, everyone I've seen using the wheel correctly has been in the US, and thus playing on an NTSC copy.

Help? :)

Sorry if it's a bump, but..
You must use the USB cable, not the controller connector. Otherwise, your wheel is a dud.
