Last week’s theme was "Rareties" as chosen by week 24 winner JTSnooks.

Further explanation of theme:
Submit pictures of a rarely photographed car at a rarely photographed location. For example, an R34 GT-R getting air over the first jump at the Nurburgring would not win.

Cars: Anything not often seen. JTSnooks will be looking for mostly European cars or Classic cars, but these are not guidelines, so don't let that limit you.
Tracks: Any

Phototravel was not allowed this week.

Wow, what a tough week for voting! It's down to Div, Alpha, and TF for me. Gota keep looking.

Edit: Had to go with Alpha's Tank Car. It's just way to classic and clean and superb to escape my vote. It's one of the most detailed and crisp shots I have seen in a while. And that diffuse light off the front of the car looks excellent. Super shot Alpha!

Nothing wrong with a bit of radial blur, so long as its used tastefully, like the 3 shots in this poll!

Thx pd, but i dont think it'll keep up with the tank car shot. That one is awesome. I had to vote for it. If it wasnt for that shot though, i could've voted for just about any other shot. They're all great.

The light effect is very simple !

1. Create a duplicate layer on top of the subject.
2. Desaturate it.
3. Apply a Gaussian Blur, enough so that the main shapes are still recognisable.
4. Change the layer mode to Lighten and then fiddle with the Opacity to get the desired effect. Levels can be used as well to add more areas of "highlights".

Glad to see Alpha starting to produce light effect
(which I have been too many times)
really makes a dull photo into a million dollar shot
I am pretty sure he will cross the finish line first this week 👍
both TF and Alpha entry are top notch
but I picked TF for the amount of clean up he had done to it
simply not an usual shot you can find in GTP

Zubicar: I don't see it too often. Maybe you see it a lot of time because you visit galleries or competitions that I don't visit a lot.

I remember seeing some triumphs recently, so I don't think it's that rare.

Anyway I voted for the tank car, beautiful shot!

true, but ... beauty is in the eye of the beholder. and, imo, only one of them would look good without it. and its not the one with votes. im speaking of the two that have the effect strongly applied.

I made it to the HM's.

For me, it was between 440's brilliant yellow TVR shot, and ALPHA's Tank. This was the first time I likedthe Tank, so I voted for that. The light effect is great too. 👍

Picking the top 10 this week was really hard, I had about 15 that I wanted to include, but had to choose. I had another 3 or 4 that I wanted to put in the HMs but didn't want to clutter it up too much, so if you're mad about not getting in, you were probably very very close. Also, I'm not too crazy about radial blur either, but some of them fit the theme best, and it was well done. Anyway, great job guys, you made it really hard to choose

WOO-HOO! I got 1 vote! Pathetic. Somebody elses shot should have been in there besides my last minute entry. It probably would have done better. But I don't think anybody else was going to beat Alpha out on this one. There should be a greatest shots thread with all of the greats, and Alpha's Tank Car would be in there!
