That's right folks, we're focusing on the every-man this week. Grab your Euro hot hatch, and thrash it!
Cars: Euro hatches (if you're unsure, just ask!)

Deadline for Week 72 is October 26th.

If you have any queries or concerns, feel free to PM Me.

The theme is focused in european GTi's, tuned tiny cars with a sporty look. The Golf GTi fits perfectly, but you can use the R32 if you want.

The allowed car type is 106 S16/rally, 206RC, 307 S16, Golf GTi, Polo GTi, Clio 2.0 16v, Megane 2.0 16v, Ibiza Cupra, Punto HGT... and all similar cars.

Well as long as their European and their a hatchback, then i think its okay.

I think the theme is clear, so I'm not going to ban any car. If you think your car may fit the theme just use it, I'll be glad to see your idea. Anyways people will vote according to the theme so be sure what are you going to do :D

I know it's up to Alex, but I'm under the impression it's street cars only this week. I also am thinking that "hatch" means two-box designs, not things like the Integra or Celica (not that either of those are eligible anyways, since they're Japanese, but they're all I can think of for an example).

I'd love to have faith in people voting based on the theme as Alex said, but nobody knows for sure how much the theme weighs on peoples' votes, and how much the "quality" of the shot does.

Also, due to the constant pushing of the editing limits in the 2.0/H2H events, expect an overhaul of the rules soon. I'll be discussing it with a few knowledgeable people back-channel.

i know what a hatch means, and yes the integra is definitely a hatch back, and so is the celica.having been an owner of an integra for many years, i've opened the trunk so many times to know what a hatch back is. but yeah i know what you and alex mean though. but i think i'm just gonna stick with the road car, since it's a street racing theme. i also agree with you about the voting being based on theme. it's something that is rarely happened in the polls as i have seen, though not on a regular basis. i just thought i'd ask since he didn't mention anything about race cars, but i guess the theme should of said it all.

now you've got me excited about rules changes to be discussed soon. but i hope it doesn't go to extremes (whether restrictive or a bit more lax), but i have faith in you guys.

Heh, there's been an Integra in the family for years for me too, but I figured it wasn't in the spirit of the competition, so wanted to clarify ;).

I can't say if the rules will be better or worse; they will be different, to better reflect the editing that is more common these days. The wording will also be a bit clearer for non-Photoshop users. Obviously being the 2.0 competition, there will be a lot more emphasis on post-GT editing compared to PMC, but the goal is to allow a wider, more useful range for Photoshoppers while still allowing people less accustomed to it a chance to be competitive. I'd like to think compositions still count for something!

So...

And THAT's the theme Slip, nice clarification and entry. And thanks for hearing what people say all around.

I've just realized entering your car in GT4's own "Euro Hot Hatch Competition" will tell you if it's eligible or not. :indiff:

WOW, that's gonna be tough to beat.

Not sure about the border though, seems like something darker would go better with it? thats just me though.

Thanks for the comments :). I was thinking of maybe changing the border too so I might do that tomorrow or later just to save my one chance of changing my entry :P even though I probably won't.

i totally agree with you. so i guess the new rules will even out the playing field a lot more, which is totally a great thing. that would be awesome. then maybe we could see more entries in comps :)

does neone know how i can remove those stupid advertisements from my signature (i realize its a tad bit off topic) but i was rereading my post and realised it looks stupid

so if you could give me a little helping hand it would be appreciated

i guess its just cuz i had the first post on the page...duh

I agree the rules should be more clear on what you can do with photoshop or other application. There are too many grey area to allow us to use dirty tricks. However I would love to see the arrival of the new rules soon :)

Tapetape: Nice entry. Very creative red tint but realistic at the same time 👍

Tapetape - Very nice tone, the highlights are very nice. I only have tiny little quibbles; the rear wheel blur is kinda messy compared to the first, and there's a strange area just near the front wheel-well with the lighting. Kinda blurry. Oh, and you forgot to blur the background we can see through the car ;). That being said though, the front-end is so clean, and the trickest part is the fact I can still see the brakes clearly... in a Travel shot! Awesome!

Thank you for the comments guys, it was either that pairing or the 80's rally hatches for this week, but I figured I'm a bit more comfortable shooting cars I'm familar with ;).
