Week 74

This week’s theme will be "Battle Field" as chosen by Week 72 Winner Tapetape. ​

Further explanation of theme: ​

In the words of T-Squared:
A picture of at least 2 race cars fighting dirty to win. Examples would include brake checking or tail clipping anything that tries to make the opponent lose control. On tarmac.

Cars: Race cars (no rally cars).
Tracks: Any track you would consider a "proper" racing track.
Phototravel: No.
​

• Winner will select the top 10 for the poll and pick the theme for the following week.
• Post your final entry in red letters. Such as “Final Entry”
• A preview image may be used, but it may be no bigger than 300*400 pixels by either photo orientation.
• You may have two honorable mentions if a preview image is not used.
• You may change your Final Entry once. If if you do so, please edit your original entry make a new post linking to it.
• Do not use an entry from a previous competition.
• Do not post more than three photos in this thread.
• Only one entry may be submitted, and it must be uploaded using Imageshack and have the thumbnail picture.

[Note:No plug-ins for any of the above adjustments or filters are to be used]​

You can use layers for overlay and layer adjustments, but not to alter the geometry and original subject matter of the picture: like adding stickers and body kits, and objects that are not in the original image.​

Save the race in your memory card, and then load it in the replay theatre.

I hope the delayed response from me hasn't been misconstrued as a death of the comp. I've only had enough time for very short stints of GTP lately, and as I saw this sit with just two entries for a while, I figured I'd leave it open until some more starting coming in. Seriously, where did everyone go?

The next one will definitely have a Top 5 as opposed to 10 to make up for the near-death of the GT photo community...

Well yeah, too bad it had to be like this. Somehow i don't even know where everybody went! Its too bloody quiet here at the Photomode Comp forum. Although some comps are still running, i just can't see why there are getting less and less entries. Maybe all of us had moved onto something...... (RL i guess )

Being Christmas and all, there are a lot of folks out shopping or spending it with family or friends. After all, 'tis the season.

Well if nobody is entering, at least end this comp and start again by next year or just say that this comp is "closed for good" It really hurts me if nobody is doing anything to this comp? If its too much trouble, just let me handle the 2.0 comp from this day onwards? So what do you guys think? Should this comp continue running next year or should we just let this comp die and join the other comps that had past before this?

I, for one, do not want to see it die - but I also do not have a lot of time to spend in here. Maybe just set the comps for longer in the slow (winter) months. Maybe a 6 week comp - or 2 months. After March, bump it back down.

Just a thought.

There is precisely one comp that has a past longer than this; the PMC.

It's not too much trouble, but I don't like to close a comp when there's a handful of entries. As mentioned, it is the holiday season (not to mention exams for many people), so I wouldn't expect them to have a lot of time for this. One can't ignore that some of the X360 games provide just as stunning graphics as we've come to expect after hours of Photoshop, with no post-game work. Not everyone has Mog or Alex levels of experience with PS, so having the game do most of the work (not to mention the game itself providing online racing experience), people are going to migrate. I know I haven't really "played" GT4 in probably a year, I only use Photomode nowadays.
