GT4 PhotoMode/Photoshop Competition: Week 3

PhotoMode/Photoshop competition rules:
Photoshop MUST be used (or other photo editing program)
You may alter the photograph in ANY way, the more creative the better
The photograph must be hosted by ImageShack
The photograph must be within the parameters of each weeks theme, chosen by the judge
Deadline will be during the day on the following Saturday
Each Person will be allowed THREE entries
Entries will only be considered if "ENTRY" is above each one
Only 20 Entries will be voted on, and will be selected by the judge
The judge will be the winner of the previous week's vote

Judge: Easy$$

Theme:
Place a GT4 car in a real setting.

Further explination: Use any car from GT4 and place it in a real setting. ie: put your McLaren SLR in a picture of your driveway, or put the Sauber C9 in a real shot of Le Sarthe

will be judged based on realism (matching light ect.)

Was that the one with about 4 cars, including a bentley race car parked outside a house? That was an unbelievable photo.

I'm going to TRY and enter this comp - I'll probably just be making up the numbers, as I'm finding it really hard getting the angles/lighting right - but it's fun trying.

this might be a stupid question but can I still enter if im the Judge?? I never really paid attention to past comps.

you should be fine to enter, your still competing with everyone else, just judge your own entry like you would any others (it's not liek you can control people voting, if you pick yours for the top 20 it doesn't mean you'll win the poll too )

really hard to tell which car is yours .... I know its mclaren ... only car available in GT4
btw ... what the judge do? I thought the winner was picked by poll
are we having two winners per week? one from poll and one from judge?

The McLaren in the foreground is mine...heres the original image...

Judge simply means the one who picks the top 20 for the poll.

Week 1, I won the poll, so I chose this weeks theme and I pick the top 20.

probably can get it done tomorrow if my gf stops whining about not playing Mario party with her

true...it seems most of the spawned competitions are slowly getting less and less participation.

IMO, there is just too much bickering and idiocy in the general photomode comp to even bother. People cant follow the rules. I look forward to seeing what people post in here and the mag comp. Seems like its a bit more civilized.

I hope this and the mag comp can continue.

like photoshop competition weekly (chop real cars)
they are dying as well even they have done that for 2 years
people just getting busier ... entries then getting lesser and lesser
actually I want to join them as well, but I have trouble finding parts to chop
while in GT4, I can get whatever I want because I am in control of the camera

hmm, yea, im liking this comp, bt wouldnt it be better if the winner of the previous one got to choose the next weeks one aswell? otherwise i tihnk u might start runnin out of ideas ^_^

I would like to do more comps as well, but I feel that a lot of the competitions are biased as to who made the design.

If you wanted to do a real clean competition, you would:

1. Pick a subject
2. Have a judge (or two) who would judge on:
   • Originality
   • Content
   • Complexity
   • and Overall esthetics
3. Email your submissions imageshack link to a THIRD party who could not vote or judge
4. The judge would pick a winner from the entries presented by the third party, without knowing who ever submitted the entry
5. ... and award a 1st, 2nd & 3rd place for the week

If it is done this way, there is no bias towards ay one person and no one could tell all of there friends to log on and vote for them.

lol yeah thats what gave it away for me otherwise I probably couldn't find the GT4 car!!!

I do believe that the judge's interpritation of the theme they choose may be different than those making entries, so that is why this competition allows three entries, but if the judge picks more than one of yours for the top 20 than your only taking votes away from yourself

oh and btw if there was ever an incentive to win a comp: if you win then you can make the theme based on the picture you've been making for months

Thats right...there are 2 McLarens in the pic. However, they had 2 cars on the team,#42 and #43.

#42, driven by J.J. Lehto/Steve Soper/Nelson Piquet had red mirrors and #43, driven by Peter Kox/Roberto Ravaglia/Eric Hélary had white mirrors.

I chose to make the other mirrors blue instead of white. So you laugh....but in reality there quite possibly could've been 2 McLarens in the shot.
