gt4 Sport mode grip loss?

Hi guys,

did some of you noticed a kind of grip loss during gt4 sport mode races? I'm not sure if it's in my head or not... the lap times don't seem to fall at the end of the races.

Could it be an evolution of the tire performance? Or a loss of downforce if you're to close of the car in front?

i'm a bit confused.

any thoughts??

i had allways felt that since GT5, i don't know what causes it. but yes, definitely theres less grip playing online, both sport and lobbys.

You have to take into consideration the balance of performance settings where they might set the car at a heavier weight or force you to use hard racing tires instead of soft which would affect your grip

I dont get it. Do u mean u lose grip at the end of a race or from qualy to race ? I dont notice any grip loss. Very consistent lap times and speed during qualy and race for me at Suzuka.

I feel like sometimes the grip drops during the race, not between the quali and the race. First time a noticed it last night I want back the to race details too make sure PD didn't activate tire wear... like i said, might all be in my head!

I'm really having a blast with those races BTW. DR and SR seems perfectly done to me!

It might be that common problem that we all suffer from where we push it harder and harder each lap until we spin out.. but like they say if you're not spinning out or running off the track you're not trying hard enough lol

No I think you are on to something. I said the same thing last night. It's a grip issue from the beginning. However I came to the conclusion that basically it was a brake lock situation.

If I use my ds4 and tap the brake around corners I'm ok. However if I mash it down and hold it on corners I slide right off the track. So maybe this is something they implemented? Remember the DS4 isn't pressure sensitive. That really sucks.

There is definitely an aero effect from running close to another car that gives you more understeer, and it depends on the pre-set terms of the race whether there is tyre wear and/or fuel consumption, I don't think it is any of the current Daily Races.

I take you mean online/offline lap time differences? As i remember doing ~1,5 seconds slower lap times at Tsukuba in GT6 when racing on other region server. (Worst instance compared to offline)
