WHAT IS IT?
The WRS Photomode Competition allows WRS'ers the opportunity to show their Photomode skills. You're task is to create a picture that can be used for the Week 103 results thread. At the end of the week all entries in this thread will be judged by myself or the previous winner (Sphinx) and a new winner will be determined.

WHAT ARE THE RESTRICTIONS
The only restrictions placed on the photo you create are:
  • Photo must be 600 x 450 pixels
  • Photo must relate to the Week 103 race
  • Photo must contain the phrase "WRS Week 103 Results"
  • Photo must be submitted before Tuesday the 17th of April
And that's it! Only one photo per competitor but feel free to update your entry during the week 👍

So what are you waiting for........get out there and start racing and/or snapping some pics :sly:

Very neat Arora...infact all your photo entries are great 👍 I'm hoping to get one in this week, we'll see if I can come close to your PhotoShop wizz-ness

Thanks Colby :) and please do find the time for one, looking foward to it.

Nice ones Ron and Kelly 👍 Steping things up I see.

Did you air brush the corners in Ron? Reminds me of burning black and white shots old school, in the darkroom with your hands blocking the light. And how are you guys geting the multi color text? Is it from that site you linked Kel?

Get multi colour by selecting the text and going to window button and view styles, you can change styles there :)

Ok here is my first pic for you, hope you like it and i might not be done yet :sly:

Might have been a bit cooler with a graffiti font Mike, I had made up a similer idea myself :)

And now I've learned how to add headlights! :D

Very nice idea Kel but im only usng GIMP and don't have much options when it comes to text :(. It is funny how close our two pics are lol, nice pic.

The technical term is called 'Vignetting', which is when the edges of the lens overshadow the light entering the camera, hence creating darkness in the corners. In usual photography, an un-wanted effect.

I think that's an option in photoshop, where you can set the amount of vignetting, the size, and the opacity of it.

Great pix by all.
I can't do much 'til I return home later this weekend. I hope I have time to submit a pic.

Erik, you are so very consistant with the quality of your entries. 👍

against all these fantastic entries i wouldnt stand a chance - and there's no need for another posting - so i'll leave it to jerry to pick one of the current pictures as the winner of this week 👍
btw my pick would be ron's entry which so powerfully shows this week's car and the sun that prolly shines all season over at gv 👍

I really like Kelly's red sunset... Nice effects 👍

And Erik, perhaps you could fix the annoying beamlights? Their angle in incredibly wrong...

Here is one more pic from me, iv not changed it much but its a photoshop pic and you can tell by my text lol :D

Comments welcome as im a bit stuck for something to do with it, feels empty???
What do you think?

Also i think i need to remove the water mark

Thanks I wanted a spooky looking GV and text, we can call it evil GV :)

Like the pic Mike, but like Rons I have an issue with the text being too small :indiff:

Some nice pics Mike 👍

@ Gingiba, as far as my question to Ron, I was speaking from experience when I refered to "burning" the edges, I used to have a black and white developing lab in my spair bathroom, the old stuff is fun. Yes I know the headlight angle and amount of light is not realistic in my pic, I could change it if I wanted but.... consider that I may have some of those new fandangled headlights that turn, like camera eyes ;)

I think that's an option in photoshop, where you can set the amount of vignetting, the size, and the opacity of it.

You can easily create that effect by creating a black to transparent radial gradient on its own layer with some opacity change to get the appearance you want. see thumbnail. If you want random dark areas use the render clouds filter on its own layer and use the multiply blending mode to suppress the white. Use gaussian blur and set opacity for desired amount...

(To get rid of a undesired vignette on a photo, CS2 has a disort filter called Lens Correction.)

Thanks for the props! :) I did change the headlights last night. I thought the originals were too harsh so I blurred them. Makes them softer, not quite so harsh. The originals were also amber but I didn't like that at all and never posted them, at least not for this pic.
