Sounds good, I'll be away all week but should have some time to get some laps in next Sunday. Good luck to all.

I know what I'll be doing all week 👍

I'm also stoked to go to the American Le Mans race at Lime Rock this weekend! My wonderful sister picked up 2 tickets for me. Anyone wanna go? :sly:

I saw the race in Long Beach. 2 things I noticed that might not obvious from watching on TV. The Audi is relatively quiet, and the Panoz is really, really loud.

How can you have an american Le Mans?

@ superwally, so i guess i have to watch the threads next week at the last minute to check your T's? You're one fast man. 👍

This combo would appeal to me if we werent in this car.... i hate the colour scheme, i dont mind the car, just not more RED cars :yuck:

See you all on the track

good luck all
:grumpy:👍

First time up.

T1: 18.877
T2: 1:01.557

Not too happy with it, though. I think I've maybe two seconds to claw out in the lap.

Started out with 240 gearing, then went to 250 as I learned the track and car. This is a track I remember, but a car I'm not familiar with.

Likes to slide, doesn't it? :D The two third gear lefts in the middle were a hoot until I drove instead of drifted. It's not quick to drift (except maybe at the first chicane and the tight right after the downhill?)

I think I need help with a couple of sections - the right-left before/over the railtracks and the last hairpin. What are good methods with this weapon?

I feel like I'm in a scene from the Matrix:

Evo: Stop trying to drive me - and DRIVE ME!
Venari: *grunt*paddle*slapshift*drift*flick-nose-with-thumb-and-wave-hands-like-a-ponce*
Evo: You're faster than this. Don't think you are - know you are.

Venari.

love the car - dont care much for the track ...
nearsuperstickies always help off course!
and wondering now what the triple jump street will deliver ito photocomp entries :)
good luck to all - and long live the wrs!

btw as soon as three t's have been posted i'll set up a new luxy

Ok here are some splits from me for you all to aim for or blitz and i gave everything plenty of room.

18.322
100.284

Have fun all and just think of it as a crazy cop chase 👍

Did I hear someone say triple jump? Woot! Hahaha....:sly:

First 15 min splits -
T1 - 18.518 (18.4xx is my goal)
T2 - 1:00.791 (1:00.4xx is my goal)
And she is slippery as hell imo, but totally fun I love these Evo's!

EDIT - Very next lap :D
T1 - :18.558
T2 - 1:00.420
Finish I still want to clean up about .4 on this track, but time will be the issue this week, I have to study for my second of two A+ tests (passed the first one last week :D)

30 min more -
T1 - :18.226 (:))
T2 - 1:00.080 (seen a couple 59.9's come across my desk but the finish....what finish?!?! lol, I"ll be happy with a :59.8 if I have the time.)

Suprise!
T1- 18.502
T2- 1'00.511

Losing a crap load of time over the railway track section, and the uphill right before the downhill jumps.

I just had a new try and got me these but i lost time in the finish as its tricky as hell lol. At the bottom of the hill sometimes the nose goes up and sometimes down. Both ain't much fun when it comes for you turn right in the kink at the bottom.

18.180
59.927

About an hour total and likely am done.

T1 - 18.252
T2 - 59.900

Jerome

Wow, I must really be doing something wrong. I know this is probably against the rules but maybe I could put up a replay of this lap so some of you could give me some tips on decreasing my times.

T1 42.766
T2 2'10.377

Nice combo again. 👍

First session gave:

18.712
1'00.775

With a nervous and clumsy finish. :dopey:

Bloody heck you guys are fast this week, im not enjoying the 5 mins ive had with the car so far... maybe it'll grow on me
I still realise that there are fast times up tho...
👍

Whats was wrong with peter's lap then?
wrong way round the track?

Good luck this week

:grumpy:👍

nice to see you around, brad! (and still worse in spelling then most non-natives LOL)

LU EDIT up to post 25

first dirty try last night gave not much to enjoy ... those r3's really feel like s1's on this car :ouch:
hope to see a turnup just as high as the previous sjaak-weeks 👍

nice to see you around, brad! (and still worse in spelling then most non-natives LOL)

Im a busy man and dnt have time to write all the leters out somtimes, so I just type the impotant ones.

Had a quick go at it last night and all I could say was, damn I'm glad it's in reverse because at least everytime I over cook the chicane it's at the begining of the lap :dopey:

Very nice combo Sjaak, right up my alley 👍

18.423
1'00.710

Two things that help me in the second sector; before the RR tracks there is a turn sign to the far right, I aim at that as an 'outside apex' and the right at the top of the hill I brake earlier than normal and turn in a little late.

First serious try :

18.710
1'00.587

at least the target to get is known now.

The left hander just after the rail section is so cool.......if all goes well :dunce:

Like C. Albers always says "maximum attack" is the way to do it.
But this time without the fuel pump hose.:dopey:

"Maximum attack,"™ Markku Alèn. :mischievous: ;)

Now there is a man who can drive a rally car.

I just love these Evo's, nice one Sjaak!
T1 - 18.100
T2 - 59.488
Final - Lost .2 its there for someone to grab it. Submitting my time after about 2.5 hours total Top Speed 250, haven't had a chance to try 240 👍
I saw a :18.08o and a 17.942!!!! Then totally blew up on the train tracks like usual, heheh....I'd say there is another .4+ out there I know the aliens would normally get (58.9xx I would assume)
LB Updated too :) See ya at the finish guys!

Jerome

Holy beef patties, slow down!

T1: 0:18.742
T2: 1:01.069

And the paintwork isn't looking too hot. Usual street circuit story, there are fast bits, punctuated with just a little too much drift or power understeer, then it all goes *poof*.

Made up 0.801 seconds on my initial try, so I'm deffo hoping for the next 1.199 seconds, if not a bit more.

Quick session before lunch yielded this. Wasn't my first session, I spent 30-45 min on it monday night. Hopefully I can take off another five tenths before I'm done.

18.190
1'00.080

im on 230 at the minute, wasnt sure about it, but dropped from 240 gearing and knocked a second off my final time in two laps.

Ive just barely started to get a lap together, and ive got:

18.313
1'00.249

But i dont like the combo, there is far too great a margin for error here with such a slidey car and such close walls and such a narrow escape through the first chicane that i find all my time has been spent trying to work out the optimum gearing, and the gear selection for each corner after an adjustment.

I doubt i will try again this week.

[wear hat]
But still, there are some very fast times being shown, and hats off to those who thrive off of this kind of thing.
[/hat wearing]

Good luck all

:grumpy:👍

I'm enjoying this.

T1: 0:18.674 (Room for improvement here, seen low 18s)
T2: 1:00.525 (Woohoo, under the minute is in my grasp!)

Down another 0.919 for the whole lap. I'd be really happy with another 3/4 second or so. :)
