Important notice:
To streamline the WRS administration process, all replays for this race must be submitted within 7 days. This thread will be listed as "Unofficial" and will become "Official" when all posted replays have been checked. After 7 days, any racers achieving a Gold time who do not provide a replay will have their lap disqualified.

Please Note:
I will update this post during the week to include any posted replays and also keep track of which replays have been checked and by whom.

Quick Guide To Replay Checking:
  1. check the race summary, check that the tyres are Dirt and that the power is 330 hp
  2. firstly, check the replay from the farthest top view (press R1 twice as soon as the race starts then X if you need to switch to the outside camera)
  3. secondly, check the replay from the same view but in reverse (press L1)
  4. if you suspect more than two wheels leave the track, freeze the replay ('Select' button) to enter photomode
  5. if you suspect contact with a wall, check the data logger for any sudden spike in the cars speed under full throttle.

Congrats to MrP aka: Cpt Ron. great running in the dirt my friend. Your "alien" status is well preserved!!

Congrats also to Aurora, Niels, and 01gtp on their respective wins and golds. 👍👍
I look forward to watching those replays to see what I can learn for next time we go playing in the dirt!:nervous:

All in all a nice turn out. Extra Kudos to Erik for a very nice combo.👍
It was plenty of fun for this ol' geezer! :)

I"ll take a podium any day with just 90 min of work :sly: (Or last place depending on how you look at it...D'oh! lol) Congrats all!

Jerome

What the... no 3rd? Good, finally! :D Cheers to everyone  now let's get back to the stickies.

Ron, did you really have a 1'08.8 split for that lap or did you improve the time? If that's your T3, then you have a great last sector and make it possible to get 1'26.1!

Congrats to everybody who had fun this week.

Great time, Ron. 👍

Nice combo, Erik 👍 ...and a great time 👍 ...and a perfect host taken all the glory yourself. ;)

 to all who enjoyed this one, and thanks to Sjaak 👍

Congrats to Ron on a great time and the win :scared: Nice runs Niels ( I had to bust my arse to get that lucky .5 :sly:) and Kenny.

Here is my replay:

congrats to all the other winners and NeilsG for his golden run last week

Cmir has moved up out of his 3rd place "slump" 👍

welcome in our newest nutmegger georgetheracer, i'm sure he will give us a run for our money ( rite now he runs on a Jake/Chuk setup ) :mischievous:

Erik thanks again for cool combo, i didn't think i was going to fare so well, i haven't run a lot of dirt/snow rally in the past even tho Jake warns it will make you a better driver overall, and i enjoy sidestepping it :P

I never expected to win this after seeing the updates from a few drivers as the week progressed and my time was already submitted ... I suppose my last sector was decent after all thank god 👍 Gotta say though! .. Well done to all who nailed a fast clean one because Rally in GT4 is not easy at all when you haven't spent hundreds of hours creating a reasonable driving style to cope with the tight to the wall turns that need full commitment and plenty of countersteering to get the exit lines sweet and max out the lap to the best of your ability, and most of you guys have pushed some really great laps out that many old hand ralliers with pure dirt miles on the clock would be happy with 👍 and I look forward to viewing the replays to view your rallying styles :)

Well done to Cmir and Jerome for getting the 1'27's and Erik for almost breaking it too and a division win into the bargain ;) Congrats also to 01gtp for taking the D3 gold 👍

That was fun guys even though my time was limited I enjoyed kickin up some dirt again
Here's a video replay and my maxdrive file for scrutiny
Cheers
Ron.

Damn! .. that Audi @ Suzuka looks so tempting also

well...let me be the first to say that Mr. P's video of his run is just simply awesome!!!!

don't want him to feel bad or neglected that nobody commented on his video!!!! :D actually wish i could do videos like this myself!!! you're still the "Man" aint you???

looks like some great times posted and congrats to all of the gold times and podium finishers. 👍

sorry i haven't been around much to join in but ive been kinda busy playing another racing game online...oh what fun it is racing against real red-blooded human beings...lol

i would be more than happy to verify laps from the NTSC boys if i new who they were...i know that Erik is NTSC though. ;)

Edit: ok...checked out Erik's lap and the hp and time checked ok **cough cough** was really a nice run **cough cough** no wall hits of any kind **cough cough** great one Erik!! **cough cough** would like to say it's clean and green **cough cough** but with all of the dirt **cough cough** that he was kicking up **cough cough** was kinda hard to see him as i was following **cough cough** him around an offroad track!!!! **cough cough**

in all seriousness though...great run buddy...heck of a lap!!! 👍 :D

RON! you are an insane rally racer.👍 Congrats to Erik and Kenny as well!

Here's my PAL replay:

Will be back in 5 to verify Ron's replay.

Must have seen dozens of you Alp replays by now, Ron so I can only repeat myself. Fabulous control. 👍
And of course clean and with correct specs. 👍

Thanks Kevin :)

I also checked 01gtp; clean 👍 Tried to get Jump's but there is something wrong with the file :(

thanks for taking the time to verify my lap from the Alps guys, that was a fun combo :dopey:
after watching Mr P's video I see I need to run more rally style events, as recommended by others :sly:
I see Jumps replay is a zip file, what system is used to work w/ those files, I see 5 people have checked it out already, but nobody has verified it as clean
I'm sure it is 👍

i tried giving it a go to see if i could download jump_ace's file also.

after downloading the zipped file every time i tried to unzip the file it would tell me there was corrupted data or no data to unzip...

looks like you're gonna have to upload another file that's not corrupted so that someone can download a non-corrupted file to verify it for you buddy.

and also...is there a reason that you're having to use a zipped file for the replay??? just wondering is all...not a big deal...but it could be the cause anyways.

I was able to download and extract the zip file, however, the file it extracts has no attachment so I'm not sure if it's supposed to be .sps or .max as I'm not sure what Jerome usually uses.
I would try it out, but my PS2 is paused mid-race at the moment, and I don't wish to turn it off to experiment with something that mightn't work. ;)

I'll see if I can re-upload it, never had one corrupt before, but no biggie. I usually try to zip them to prevent corrupting the file ironically enough. I'll get that up tonight, and see if its corrupted for me as well, sorry guys. In the meantime, can someone else try verifying the file?

EDIT - Well sure enough its corrupted or something, I copy it to my max flash drive and the max program on my ps2 doesn't see it, rather it doesn't see my GT4 game save I have backed up on there either, so maybe that is corrupted. I then copied the file to another standard flash drive and restarted the max stuff on my ps2, still 0 items to be found. And I of course cleaned up my 64MB memory card this week as I was tired of it taking forever to pull up my replays when I want just ONE file to copy so I deleted last weeks thinking it was on my pc and my website both. So I'm gonna have to bow out of the results for Week 135 guys sorry, how embarassing....We'll see how it goes for saving my files this week :/

Jerome

hey!!! no need to "jump" out of the competition i don't think??!!!??

sjaak has only asked for the gold times from this weeks comp...my bad :banghead: but ive just now noticed that your time is silver...not gold...right sjaak????

dont think there is a neccesity for you to post a replay anyway other than you just wanting someone else to see it and benefit or learn from it.

please correct me if im wrong...but that's the way i understand this baby runs...right guys???

Yep no replay required unless its gold so there's definitely no need for any drastic pulling out of the results Jerome, we all know your time is valid mate and these things happen to us all .. take it with a pinch of salt man and rest on all the replays you have supplied that were 100% legit and within the rules to carry your reputation on during this unlucky event 👍

Take it easy
Ron.

I see Jumps replay is a zip file, what system is used to work w/ those files, I see 5 people have checked it out already, but nobody has verified it as clean
I'm sure it is 👍
Thanks imfaster, i didn't realize that jump had a silver and i beleive you are correct on the verifying

Right on, thx for the support guys. Guess I didn't read the fine print. I will try backing up a different replay on my computer and then back onto a memory card and see if its totally shot or what is going on. Keep ya posted :)

Jerome

Jerome,
been there done that! :ouch:
While it is a tough hit the only suggestion I can make having just gone through it recently. Clean out the card and start all over.

As Mr P suggested, your reputation around here is solid and long standing.👍 Onward mate!

Please count my vote for one who thinks Jerome has nothing to prove, I believe his lap to be what he says it is.

Mine too!
Having raced head-to-head alongside Jerome in real life, I can safely say he's scary quick, :scared: and honest too 👍.
Everyone knows that from all the laps he's submitted replays for in the past, and besides, his replay wasn't really required per se this week anyway, he's just like a lot of the drivers here that take the time to submit replays regardless of final position so that others can watch & learn from them. I know I have! :D
Besides, he has the red line in his sig. that says Replay Supported Racers. That's all we really need to know! ;)

(I did try again to view the file, it downloaded and unzipped fine, I attached .max to the end and copied it to the MAX drive without issue, and it shows up fine on the PC browser. However, it doesn't show up on the MAX drive when you try to copy it to the Memory Card in the MAX Drive utility for PS2. Weirdness.)

I believe Jerome's lap is clean too. Since it is not a required lap, there's no need to raise any problem, we can forget this incident 👍

I can verify NielsG's lap later today, if no one else has done it by that time.

Exactly what I encountered and with just that one file, I've since done it to a few other files and its fine. Thx again for the support guys! Means a lot srsly!
