Important notice:
To streamline the WRS administration process, all replays for this race must be submitted within 7 days. This thread will be listed as "Unofficial" and will become "Official" when all posted replays have been checked. After 7 days, any racers achieving a Gold time who do not provide a replay will have their lap disqualified.

Please Note:
I will update this post during the week to include any posted replays and also keep track of which replays have been checked and by whom.

Quick Guide To Replay Checking:
  1. check the race summary, check that the tyres are Racing - Hard and that the power is 625 hp
  2. firstly, check the replay from the farthest top view (press R1 twice as soon as the race starts then X if you need to switch to the outside camera)
  3. secondly, check the replay from the same view but in reverse (press L1)
  4. if you suspect more than two wheels leave the track, freeze the replay ('Select' button) to enter photomode
  5. if you suspect contact with a wall, check the data logger for any sudden spike in the cars speed under full throttle.

Cheers to everyone

Nice and demanding race. Well done to Michael for this victory (amazing, my virtual limit was 2'05.0 with 33.6 splits, what the hell did you do on the last sector? might be the setup...), also to Bill and Steven (impressive) and of course a big congrats to Sjaak for hosting this series, always with excellent ideas 👍

And that was a close one between me, imfaster and rmk :scared:

Congatuations to Ren-Tec for smoking the rest of the field. Congrats to 2078TM for taking Div 2 and WOW, look at Bigracer's time, WOW. No wonder why you are always looking for the gt races. Congrats Steven for taking all of Div 2 also. Unfortunately I won't be able to see the replay, I beleive you are PAL. Congrats also to all that submitted times this week, for me it seemed like a hard combo. And I don't seem to appreciate many things that come easy. Thanks to all that helped with setups this week also. Here is my replay.

Thanks Sjaak for your time and effort with the WRS.

Congrats to all the golds, and Steve for his win in Div III. That was quite a time you put up there.

my time wasn't deserving of a podium but I'll take it.!

:eek: and :embarrassed::embarrassed: i don't know what to say. my laps did not feel that fast and i blame it all on the low effort other might have put into this wrs week. perhaps i was lucky in finding a good setup.
to all of div2, i'd like to think you were all sleeping :) or otherwise not know your way around gt mode perhaps?

for who wants to try afterwards, here is my setup: 12-11, 90-100, 8787, 2.5-1.5, t0-0, s7-7, brakes 3-3, 1,5 lsd, tranny tricked 4.75, aids 0-1-0, stiffness and wr3 despite what they said in the vault.

thank you michael for sharing your setup specs with me, that helped quite a bit. to the others sorry for not being very open about my tune but i was very eager to get a first real gold :yuck: woo to me.

about my replay kenny, maybe jerry (or ron) would be as good as to make it into a video so that others can view it?

here is my replay but michael/ren-tec already has it so he might be checking it if not done already 👍

Congrats to all. 👍

Steven - amazing performance.
No, Div 2 wasn't sleeping, hell, you missed Div 1 Silver by only .002 - you legitimately smoked us all.

I will try the setup later tonite and get back with some times tomorrow. Probably still going to be slow but I have to try. As for the replay maybe someone has a pal converter if thats easier.

Well done to 2078TM and Bigracer for there wins in DIV2 and Div3. Wow i won a DIv one race lol, i was thinking i would get third this week so it was a nice surprise.

Steven i checked your replay and its clean as a whistle and a interesting use of drivers aids. i would have thought they would slow you down but it seems not in this track. 👍

here is my replay

Well done mikey, that showed em. Only by 7 tenths, but it still showed em.....

:irked:👍

Congats Ren-Tec! Fast time! Also to all the gold winners! 👍

I spent some good time on this one trying to find my own magic setup and ended up using most imfasters. Thanks buddy! 👍

That was a close D1 silver battle.

congrats to Mike...what a total time there buddy. 👍

congrats to the other gold times and especially to Steven...gotcha one eh??? great job there getting under the Div 2 times...impressive indeed.

rmk700, Cmir and myself were right there together at the line...throw a blanket on us!!

your very welcome rmk...you've helped me numerous times so being able to help you makes me feel great about the setup.

well done to all who turned out for this one...this beast was pretty damn squirrelly at times. :D

I couldn't get the thing to stop understeering. At least not enough. :) The squirrelly stuff is the fun stuff. :sly:

WELL DONE to STEVEN and MIKE! w00! Awesome jobs guys, you made it all come together somehow... And Steven, you definitely deserve props for that one man, with some more time I know I was capable of chopping a second off of my total time, but I just didn't have enough time or desire to take the time needed.

I was somewhat looking forward to a link to the GT Vault setup, but never had the time to go look for it. I knew that I wanted to increase the spring stiffness in the front, and reduce the stiffness in the rear, but not to the extent of making the front stiffer than the rear. GT4's physics and tuning is a PITA, and this car made it even worse to make sense of things. I just tried out your settings for a second, and I didn't like them too much, but I'm sure that mainly has to do with the stupid ASM Understeer setting. For whatEVER reason, it seems to have effected the amount of oversteer you could squeak out of the thing too! Blech, I hate that stuff.

I couldn't get the car to drive smoothly with a full custom LSD, it would just "hacksaw" at turns, very stupidly. I ran with a stock differential, the 1.5 way was probably similarly consistent.

That's my summary of the my struggles, lol. By no means do I want to NOT see another GT Mode race soon, this one just was a super toughie.

Good on everyone who stuck it out and fought for a clean lap to submit. 👍 👍

See you all next week, where I WILL be competing!

EDIT: P.s. Only in GT4 can you pull the emergency brake in a mid-engined car with low downforce in the middle of a banked turn at 200mph and not have an instant death inducing situation... 💡 :dunce:

LOL - So that's the magic wand I was looking for. Just tried that out, and it's not a bad idea at all.

Congrats to all that ran this one and managed to be quick and clean.

I am just happy to be in the silver area of D3 and not bringing up the rear! :scared:

I pulled Kenny's (01GTP) replay and he is clean with correct specs. 👍

Kenny - I will see you at Suzuka. :mischievous:

Thanks to Sjaak for some great and memorable combos during his tenure.

Later
Kevin

Nice one Mikey :)

Congrats Bill on a solid win 👍

A special congrats to Steven for turning in a great time

👍 to all the tops and all who ran this one, twas not easy to keep her tame. I would have been mid pack or so but my gaming time was eaten up with the kids (halo, ratchet, etc etc... :dopey:)

Thanks for the race Sjaak, I had fun with it mate.

i checked michael/ren-tec's replay and off course it is clean as a whistle 👍

Steven - Congrats on your tremendous time and D3 win. For all of our sake, I hope the GT mode races are few and far between. :nervous:

I know English is not your primary language and I would not begin to try writing to you in your language. However, I thought I would point out one funny thing on your replay feedback.

Of course = As usual, as expected, in the norm, etc.

Off course = Off track, out of line, etc.

With a clean replay, I am guessing Michael is on course, not off course.

Kevin

thank you kevin for correcting me on my pover command of the english language. it indeed is a funny misspelling as i tried to say the opposite :)

i fully disagree with you, as i think finetuning a car and adjusting it to your driving needs is an essential part of driving.

Couldn't agree with you more Kevin. IMHO I was under the impression this was about who's the better driver on a level playing field, not who's the better tuner, but then I'm just some old guy trying to have a little fun. :dopey: What the hell do I know??:dunce:

I should also say that despite my feelings towards gt mode I still found it fun and learned a few things along the way. Whatever the Steward calls up in whatever mode I'll run them. No cherry picking just get in the car and drive 'em I say!

Myself I prefer to just get in and race. Like this week without gearing changes even. Its all fun to me!
I have to say Steven that I think you just drove one hell of race. I tried your set up and couldn't get any faster. The car handles better thru the esses but on the corners it seemed a bit off, like the car is pushing (I think its called understeer but correct me on that) which made me slow down too much. I did change tranny to my own liking and got rid of asm. Still no better than a 34.2xx, and only once. I would like to see 2078TM's replay to see if the line I'm taking is wrong. I would like to see if the outcome would be any different in arcade mode?

thanks bigtime.
you should check ren-tec's lap but he's pal ... maybe jerry or ron will make a vid of it. for arcade mode, i'm interested as well so take it for a spin there and let us know the outcome?

My bad. Too busy, and certainly not fast. But I missed a chance to send Sjaak a message. So if you read this, Sjaak, Chukabilly says again, 'Well Done!"

WELL DONE, STEVEN!!!!!!!:cheers::cheers::cheers:

It seems I started a brush fire and ran away. :dopey:

Steven - In no way did I intend to take away from your accomplishment. To the contrary, all I meant was that GT mode seems to motivate you and bring out your best skills. So look out for the rest of us if we have more GT mode races come our way. 👍

As Ron said, and I am of the same mindset, you pick 'em and I run 'em. I was not a fan of this one, but I am a fan of next week's. That's the beauty of this all. Helps us to run combos we would not otherwise consider and improve our skills.

Ron - Hope to see you in the next Rally combo. :sly:

Kevin

Tried to view 01gtp's replay but it does not show up in Replay Theater; although I can see it on AR Max (looks like Kenny picked a yellow Ford GT) The only other time I've had this issue was quite some time ago when I copied instead of uncrushing - but that's not the case here.

Here's my replay

of course mate, i never found anything negative in your post. we're cool!:cool::cool:

I've grabbed 2078TM's replay. Will watch in about 1 hour and get back with the clean and green.

EDIT: 2078TM's replay is clean and with the correct specs. As for watching his line, he is using the cars oversteer too much for my driving style. He takes an early corner entrance and slides the rear of the car to countersteer in the middle of the corners, which gives him a good exit. He did take the first left sweeper different, a grove lower and again earlier than I. This may have cut down my speed too much through this corner, which slowed my overall times. I have to give you a 👍 for driving like that. I may have to change my style to suit different combos. All in learning how to be more adaptable. And yes my car was yellow at one time. I bought a white one after using up the yellow car

I echo all of your last message. I tried Steve's settings and couldn't get there, so  That was one hellofa time!

The beauty of this place are the people who are truly willing to help one another and the fact that there is something for everyone. You can cherry pick 'em or you can run 'em all. If I don't run one week it's because I was out of town, very busy, or I've passed on. :scared: (let us pray it's not the later any time soon:)) I miss seeing the replays of our "PAL" members but, from time to time MrP will put up a video and I do enjoy watching our "alien nation" run. Man are those guys quick!!

My problem is May to October. We move to our Summer home and I don't have internet service there and I'm not paying for a Sat Dish service.:ill: I do think this year however I will bring the PS2/3 with me and at least practice so when I do come back I won't be as rusty. As for a Rally combo.........You pick it, I'll run it.............Onward!👍👍

Edit: Oh yea, before I forget. Chuck, I heard about Buffalo!!:sly:

I was in the middle of my post the other night so it might have been missed, but I was able to pull and check Kenny's replay, the GT is Yellow with Black stripes, and he is clean and green. So it looks like we are set on NTSC replays!

like the car is pushing (I think its called understeer but correct me on that)
You are correct sir! 👍👍 When the front tires slip in relation to the rears and the car seems to "push" ahead instead of turning, it is called pushing, or understeering.
