GT4 WRS Week 61 Official Results

Seoul has never been a successful track. Too many walls and too few turns I guess. Or perhaps it's also due to multilappers. Few submissions, but very close times in div 1. Big congrats to Casio for a first overall win, to sausages for another division win (the way to go mate) and congrats to all other submitters. This week too Colby posted a race so that I can have some rest and resume preparing the next weeks.

Wow, considering that I didn't have school today. I guess I should have taken this seriously for maybe an hour. My times that I'm remembering from quick stuff a week ago would have put me 2' 06 ish.

It's a shame that I won't be able to keep it though... I haven't got a device that allows me to transfer my replay, so my time will no doubt be disqualified... So, it'll be congrats to AngelCreator!

I must say that I disagree with that.
Some people do not put much effort in the qualifier and will improve easily their time.
Some people put much effort in the qualifier but will anyway improve a lot by practising.
But some people will not improve much, such as me.

I sent my best time after 6 practice laps only, and qualified in mid-div 2.
I can run mid-div 2 times when I put a reasonable effort in the race, I can win div 2 if I feel confident with the car and track (MR on Apricot Hill reverse for instance), but I know that I'll never run a div 1 time.
Even if I practice for years, I'll never manage it, because I learn fast but I reach my maximum performance level fast too.

I think that the maximum performance level is the same for everyone. It's just easier to get there for some then others. Every single combo has an absolute limit, something that will probably never ever get reached, where it's a physical impossiblity to go any faster. Like absolute zero for example.

Everyone is doing the same game, under the same circumstances, and more often then not the same controller (Not that is matters really). If you think you've reached your 'maximum performance level', but you take corner X at 100mph, and someone else takes corner X at 101mph. Then you havn't reached your maximum performance.

If you took one of Dan's replays. And practiced it like you say 'for years', and cloned every single input he made except on one corner you brake .001 later, you can beat his time.

It's not like if you're in D1 you're inherently faster then someone in D3. The game isn't any different for D1's to D3's. The difference is how much time it takes to get X time. I took maybe 90 minutes on this combo, it may of taken a D3 person 90 years to get to the time, but it's still not an impossibility.

I did qualify in D3, and only ran a few laps of the qualifier. However, it didn't mean I didn't improve. It wasn't like I qualified in D3 then killed the whole competition. I probably spent about 20 hours on that RX-7 @ Trial Combo when I was in D3, that still would have only got me to 3rd place in D2. If I spent 20 hours on that combo now, I'd probably be in the running for an overall win.

Congrats to all the podium winners... Wait, if I'm not mistaken, I just took 3rd in Div. 2 -- so that makes ME a podium winner. Wow -- first podium in Div. 2. Even if it's only because there were only 3 Div. 2 submissions before the deadline.

So I guess I need to upload my replay this week, being in the top-3 in my division and all. I'll have that replay in just a little while...

Oh, OK -- there were two submissions that week, but one of the times was too late for the deadline. (I was still counting that as a submission per this particular discussion...) But I guess, since it was late, it didn't count as a submission at all...

And the lack of colors is due to the fact that there were fewer than 3 submissions, so Gold Silver and Bronze didn't apply.

I did my best, but the car was just so easy to control, you can't even make it slide, or understeer
