Week 96 Results:
Audi quattro '82 @ Tahiti Maze

Well done to everyone who took part in my first WRS rally combo. It was good to see a number of drivers who clearly dislike rally actually take part and submit a time this week. Well done to them. 👍 We managed 20+ drivers this week, much more than I was expecting and I'm now a happy chappy because of it. As from now, rally will play a slightly bigger part in the WRS. This doesn't mean that it will be common place as the Arcade/GT-mode combo's we normally have, maybe once every 12 weeks or so would be more than enough.

Congrats to GTmaniac, FinaL ExaM and Kelvari for winning their divisions this week, the remaining poduim places, Sphinx, Mr P, lotus350, theman631 and everyone else who took part this week. 👍 👍 👍

Quick guide to replay checking:
  1. check the race summary, check that the tyres are Dirt and that the power is 239 hp
  2. firstly, check the replay from the farthest top view (press R1 twice as soon as the race starts then X if you need to switch to the outside camera)
  3. secondly, check the replay from the same view but in reverse (press L1)
  4. if you suspect more than two wheels leave the track, freeze the replay ('Select' button) to enter photomode
  5. if you suspect contact with a wall, check the data logger for any sudden spike in the cars speed under full throttle

hi, i did a 2'26.161 and i'd really appreciate it if sphinx could update the results with my time, the splits for the lap are on page 4 of the thread for verification that the lap was done during the week, i just want to leave this great series on a high note 👍 . the reason i didnt submit is due to me planning to have a final session tonight b4 the deadline...but i made other last minute plans and didnt get home untill late this night, too late to attempt another final session to try and reach the 2'25, which i had in sights during the week, i spent quite some time on this combo due to it being the final race for me in gt4, and possibly the final race i ever race in gt as i might move on after this, in terms of studying and other interests like golf and tennis.

i have had an absolute blast racing the wrs, the first race series i drove in gt4 and fittingly the last. each week offered some suttle challenges and no week was ever alike as far as i can remember. i have made some great freinds also during gt4, in particular gpkart, who i met in eswc but knew b4 that over at gtrp, also hotboi, who has been a great rival and certainly wouldnt have been as good if u werent driving, unlucky dude on not reaching ur goals in eswc due to some dodgy referees:indiff:

i will submit a replay regardless later tomorrow, cya

Well done GTManiac, FinaL and JetBoys 👍 Well deserved podiums Ron and Jerry, I just couldn't keep up with you guys  @Jerry: I know you were steadily chopping of time all week ... was there anything in particular, a technique or line, that helped you get below 1'54 at T3? I couldn't break through.

Interesting gaps on the leaderboard there -- a whole second between me and the person in front of and behind me ... strange :odd:

I'm happy to see such a good turnout for a rally, which I attribute to the great choice of combo. Can't wait for the next rally (Ice, Ice Baby ... maybe? ;) )

@ holl01: Sorry to see you go. Good luck out there, where ever you may go. 👍

@ Luxy: I sure hope not :scared: There's not going to be many clean laps, I'd bet.

replays of last 2 wrs weeks:tup:

goodbye for a while everyone, i might pop my head in for a quick glance at how things are going, cheers:tup:

As a "newbie" I can only echo what has already been stated here. HollO1, your awesome performances shall be missed. You set the bar real high for us "senior rookies."

As for week 96 and being quite new at this, just keeping the run clean was all I had in mind. Congrats to all with those great times. T1- 43's and 44's...................well, just awesome guys!! 👍

No worries Zoky. Late submissions will never be allowed on my watch. 👍

Sorry Dan, it's a pain in the arse when that happens. it's a risk we all take if planning to do late runs. I do it all the time.

There's no doubt you are one of the fastest GT drivers I've seen throughout my time in OLR, I would like to say you are the fastest, but it's just too hard to compare when past GT icons are no longer with us. You are however, without doubt, up there with the best of them. I wish you well now and in the future.

Damn this admin job, I'm going all PC. :sly:

thanx for ur words sphinx, i know we had our differences when i first joined the scene but thnakfully that didnt last too long, i have enjoyed ur feedback here at gtplanet and ofcourse, ur doing a fine job as the new steward,a ll the best mate

I would like to interrupt this love-fest just briefly to congratulate GTManiac and Jetboys427 who had a very fast Division 3 time by my estimation. See everybody next week, I would by lying if I didn't say I was very excited about getting the Snake @ Sears. Good luck everybody 👍

Congrats to the Podium runners from all divisions and Zoky with his great overall winning lap ... way out of my league! :scared: ( Stunning time from Dan again and unlucky he missed the deadline on his final event :indiff: ) Congrats to Final ExaM and Jetboys427 for their respective wins 👍

Congrats to Jerry for plodding on and knocking me down a slot also :sly: the old dog does it again 👍 Nice work mate
Overall it looks a successful week of racing and I look forward to the next rally event :) ... cheers guys.

Here's my replay and an mpeg of my replay for scrutiny ...

Well done to all runners and winners! Some awesome times there
Glad I'm not the only one who likes to get dirty :sly:

Congrats to GTManiac, Jerry and Ron. and Luxy, you done good too 👍

FinaL ExaM beat me yet again, and Ren-Tec! :grumpy: Theman631 and Jake73 nice times also!

And Jetboys427!! wow, you need a promotion based on that result alone 👍

My replay will be posted later.

integrity and honesty being a big part of what goes on here I must tell you all that I inadvertently erased my saved runs. I will post what I believe to be a clean run with a faster time but realize there is no substitute for the "real deal" and will except whatever decision our steward makes. :ill:

The pitfalls of being a newbie are no excuse for carelessness and I apologize to all.

The only things I noticed about this combo was that the car liked to hug the fences on every turn. I also worked out that the left turn after T1 was faster if I stayed in 3rd gear, I spent a long time going down to 2nd. :dopey:

It's times like these that sticking to the rules is a hard thing to do because I'm sure no one would like to DQ someone on their first race here, but it has to be done. Sorry, Ron. :(

Thanks guys. I'll have to say though I'm not sure mine will even count as I have no means to prove it. :( I will try to keep in the future weeks, however. Thanks for everything, guys! :)

Cheers,
Jetboy

Hi JB,
I'm not sure what you are saying. Are you saying you deleted your replay, or do you have no means (replay device) to submit your replay?

That would be the latter, there, mate. 👎

OK, what I will to do is remove your time from the division 3 top spot and place your time below the remaning division 3 results (which will be 1 now lol).

It looks like you may be div 2 material, so you may need to think about buying a replay device some time soon. 👍

Well Well, nice to see a good turn out for a dirt race! Congrats to all who took part. Rally should be a constant part of the WRS imo.

Congrats to all the tops 👍 Nice runs from Jerry and Ron to fill the podium, and Kelly for a podium as well. Looks like Kelvari gets his first win? nice job.

No apologies needed. It was my own stupid fault for being so careless in my excitement to post the replay. :dunce: While dissapointing, it is not the worse thing that has happened to me in my 58 years on this planet eh? :)

Congrats to all those great times in the dirt. 👍 👍

week 97 awaits.

T1- 21.xxx
T2- 1'04.xxx

This car is as slippery as deer guts on a door knob!!:yuck:

I knew I never had a chance this week, but I know there's no red paint on the rocks and guard rails, no black marks on the upright curbs, and no scratches on the sides of the car -

Congratulations to the whole bunch of quick guys there. I just can't see where I lost this much time... I was stuck with a 1'33.9 which was deemed dirty after close scrutiny - in a spot with an invisible wall. I'll watch the replays this week, for sure!
Glad to hear rally's gonna be a larger part of the WRS from now on. Ever since Ron ran his last ARC (in which I couldn't participate in the end, after looking forward to it) I missed a good rally-spotrace... Had to amuse myself with testing Isuzus on Chamonix. I just couldn't get the hang of this week's combo - too many hairpin, and a car which just doesn't seem to fit this track. Great combo, by any means - but I just couldn't get around the course quickly and cleanly... Promise to improve by next time!

And tough luck, Dan... This seem to happen a lot on important weeks, doesn't it? Week 79 as well... Perhaps you'll kick our asses again in GT5?

First, congrats to the top drivers 👍
For the first time I have been asked to submit replay :dopey: And :scared: I don't have a max drive. I thought I could tape it but I understand that it is not clear enough sometimes to show an incident :ouch: I just bought one 💡 and it will hopefully be here by the end of the week. Is it pretty self explainatory once I get it? :nervous: If someone could let me know in a PM that would be great. Thanks, Jimmy

Here is my replay. It's an o.k. lap by my standards, not fast though, I wish I had spent more time on this. I'll waite 12 weeks if I have to.... to run rally again.

wow im not that far down the order and im most unhappy with my time as i had a second in there for me. I just kept loosing it by a dirty touch or going wide in one turn, one of them times you go wide and it just won't come back (foot to the floor for hours).
Anyway Well Done to the drivers who got gold this week as it was a tough one 👍

replay up later :sly:

P.S Arora your replay is missing???? lol
