GT5 2.0: Anything new with Drag Tuning

Anyone notice any changes? Physics?

I like how you can have 3 presets for 1 car, wish they had this to begin with. I had to buy 2-3 if not more of the same care to test different tunes.

Also nice to see the presets tab show a complete spec sheet of your setup

Anything new in the online lobbies?

Since they wont give us a drag track:

From the start of the pit to where you turn is 1/4 mile

Another track to test, plus the pit lane is closer to the start/finish line, as oppose Road Course Indy where you have that short drive

For the regulars at Road Course Indy, test this out and see if the distance and MPH you get at the end is the same.

I noticed that warm tires now give proper grip upon launching. I had to shift downa gear in my ACR to not bog the motor at full ROM launch.

Also the yellow stripes at the Indy 1/4 are not ice anymore.

We have to keep begging for it, and eventually Kaz will realize he needs to include it. Keep voting for it on the feedback page. It's currently the 17th most wanted thing in GT5, and it's closing in on the ones above.

Indeed going to have to test this...

so that car got worse huh? any others you notice?

did anything improve?
Worse? It's probably gotten better. How realistic is it to be able to do wheelies with a TVR Speed 12? Not realistic at all as a matter of fact...

Has anyone tried drag tuning with the new load indicator? I was wondering because it seems to to a good job of judging the load on the tires and might be good for getting hard launches without guessing.

For dragging, it seems that the "tire temperature" (not sure what's the proper term, for what refers to the color of the tire) has a bigger effect than before on the grip of the tire on launch.

I have not tested this what so ever, but by results experienced, I noticed it.
This was online.

But then again, maybe it's a placebo effect and I'm imagining things o_O

Sweet!

MUCH FASTER!
It was the second fastest street car there. Now it's the Enzo again.

I wouldn't be so sure. I've got the GT5 equivalent of black ops sitting in my garage right now... this car leaves the tunnel at 235mph with the stock transmission and no setting adjustments. I've known FC transmissions to be good for AT LEAST 5-10 mph, which would put it squarely in Veyron/Enzo territory, and I think this particular car could gain more.

It's kind of been overlooked in favor of more obvious choices, and no, I'm not telling you what it is...

I'm glad for no more wheelies though.

Oh wow! You're the man! You must be the biggest genious the world has ever seen! 👍 Of course you can't say what car you're talking about. Even if we'd see it at latest on the track, but yeah........

You compare your car with the Veyron? Just.... A Veyron hits 270mph with an insane accel/start.

And I'm pretty sure you're talking about the Cadillac Cien (remember: "street car"). Well, I think I've enough experience in drag racing to tell you that it can't beat a top Enzo.

I've had Veyrons running only 240-250, which is about what an Enzo runs as well.

It's not a Cien. It's many orders of magnitude better looking.

As for seeing it, hit up a drag lobby sometime. I might take it out if I feel like it.

As for doubting it, you never called out mafia_boy when he tried to keep the "wheelie list" a secret...

 I called him out? How that?
I can hardly believe that he tried to keep it a secret, I mean he's usually not like that....
In any case, I can decide by myself what I say or not. I've nothing to do with GME itself, we are just friends who drag together. That's my position.

Anyway, there's no other (good looking?) street car which can compete with a top Enzo on SSR7. I don't know exactly what car you're talking about, probably a Viper SRT10 03 or one of the Mercedes? Well, I'm not sure if you've ever seen one of the, again, top enzos. Doesn't seem so.... (at least for me, my opinion).

That's why I can't believe the Enzo thing. Looks like you've never met the "pro" (I don't like this word) tuners out there. I mean 20mph difference? That's huge! A fully modded and broken in Veyron with a propper drag tune should hit at minimum 267mph at the end of the tunnel.

EDIT: The reason why I'm so harsh is that:
It's kind of been overlooked in favor of more obvious choices, and no, I'm not telling you what it is...
I'm sorry, but in my eyes this is an ablsolute no-no in a forum like this. I thought we are old enough.....

All I can say to the person this was a reply to was what were you thinking to make slump post something like this. A Veyron going 250 at the end of the tunnel likely has a 🤬 tune. 267-270 is where you should be at, and at La Sarthe with no draft I can hit 280 so yeah.

I've never said that. Not my words...... what's your problem? You really think that you're that much better?

For your information, my Veyron hits 270mph at the end of the tunnel and at la Sarthe 286mph no draft.

EDIT: Sorry, but the first sentence of your reply is confusing (for me). Help?

No I wasn't saying I'm better than you. I'm just saying someone that would make you rant like that is messed up in the head. What I was saying about my Veyron was to the person that made you rant =P Had nothing to do with you. The fastest I've ever pushed my Veyron at La Sarthe was 282.

Ok I understand, but why did you add that sentence to my post?

The sentence I highlighted in red colour. I've never written that.

EDIT: Could it be that you accidently placed it at the wrong place? Cause for me it's like an offense, that's why my post was a bit rude.

Yes I remember now. I placed it in the wrong area. I had it copied and pasted it in the wrong spot and never realised it until you just pointed it out =P

Well, then it's fine. Peace! :D
And sorry that I was that harsh.

:dopey:

Hey man we all make mistakes, it's all good! Glad we got that sorted out lol
