Hi all I am losing interest in GT5 online due to the constant cheating. I am a pretty good driver on the whole but my last 4 races was won by the same guy. sitting behind I can see that the biggest problem is cutting corners followed by ramming. I feel the penaltys need to be more harsh it seems to cut a corner is still faster to cut and have a penalty than driving round normal. Hope final game can improve this.

Try to race the times found in here.

Doesnt get rid of punters, but eliminates the chances of racing them

Hi, and welcome to GTPlanet. I see your a newer member.

Yes we all seem to be faced with this problem right now until private rooms are implemented or other features. There are also numerous threads concerning this. I'm assuming the mods may close this, but next time, just try using the search feature to see if there is any topics similar to this.

But we know where you are coming from...

EDIT: And also what Jack said haha.

I actually just got into online racing this weekend. I was mainly on the Professional Eidger FWD event and having a blast. I seem to do pretty well, as i am usually waiting up for other drivers to make an interesting race, but i also ran into a few people i couldn't catch!

But my main problem was on the Daytona 550p RWD event, between the 2 high-speed bank sections is a chicane, and this one guy was blasting right through the grass, not slowing down to make the quick chicanes. In professional mode there is no catch-up for people behind so it was a bit frustrating. Besides that when i was next to this guy, he tried his hardest to ram me and my RX7 off the road, almost succeeded but i was able to catch it in a drift and stay on track, while he went flying off course :sly:.

But i did run into a few cool people. If i hit anyone i would stop and wait for them, or if they ran off course. Personally i'm not worried about lap times, just enjoy it racing next to or near someone. :)👍

Punters and cheaters will haunt this game forever I think... best thing is to try to race with other GTPers... in the Race Events section you can find many of these races... :)

^Until we get private rooms. And maybe, hopefully the servers at PD can be improved (because as we all know, they are pretty bad). GTPers are definitely the best people to race against.

When I see someone cheat majorly, I just mentally take them out of the race. There are no recorded stats and money online is easy to come by, they get nothing from cheating and you lose nothing. If they're not racing, they might as well not be there.

they drive Clio or NSX.. why? because that way they have weight on rear wheels to provide traction when they cut corners..

Last night i was racing against a 07 Subaru at Fuji 650pp. This guy used the grass down
the whole front straight! I guess that's how you keep people from drafting you.

Bring on the full game with private rooms I say.
Just remember, most people want a fair race its only the people that cant get the hang of the game in order to drive all tracks corners that cause the problems. Maybe they should try a rally game like sega rally which does encourage some off road action!! Or maybe the off roaders should have ther own private rooms when the ful game is out.

What he said , with a little addition.
You did not mention what events you were involved in , but generally ( not always ) , if you run the pro events the racing is somewhat cleaner. The beginner and intermediate events seem to be where the punters hang out, only because they usually are not skilled enough to run in the pro series.

LIKE I SAID - GENERALLY NOT ALWAYS :sly:

if ime in a race with someone whose cutting corners and cheating or if I even get punted off and fall into last place I still continue racing. There's no way ime going to win so i race against myself and try to improve my personal best laps with that specific car/tune.

racing in the events times is really good... you Almost always get clean fast drivers from this forum or other forums which have them on same times....
