GT5 Compliment thread

Dear All,

I have been away for a few days but have been following from time to time the aftermath of the DLC announcement and was quite disappointed, to say the least. Anyway, without further ado, I took liberty of re-purposing MustangCobra95's
original thread title post, the quality of which deserves adaptation for this purpose. Had to use some poetic freedom to adapt properly:)

With a wish he won't mind and apologies if he does, here it is:

The purpose of this thread is for you to post your favorite stuff in GT5 and something good about it that you like.

I've noticed that GTP is quite hostile, and it's sad that so many people here are horrible to deal with regarding GT5. This thread is supposed to do the opposite. Instead of attacking GT5 for what you think it is and what you thought you'll get, say a compliment about something you like or about what good devs did in any of the new updates or DLCs. The AUP says you can't post threads in a way as if you were attacking GT5, be it by comparing it with with some "other" game or by bashing PD for not including your favourite car, but says nothing about saying it in a positive way.

One of my favorite things in GT5 is variety of cars. The choice is excellent and even though I've not raced all of the cars available in the game yet, every one I did was fun and enjoyable.

I always come back to GT5 because the cars are just more realistic and each one seems to drive differently up to a point. I don't get that in any of the other PC sims.

Just needs more tracks.

The compliment.....

Hi GT5,
You look lovely today. Fancy coming for a drink?

Haha, hilarious!!

Was thinking more along the lines "I can see the improvements through the past year and thank you, keep them coming" but your way works too!

Cheers!

*ponders* all the updates that came, all the changes and improvements that weren't named in the details of each update (standards being the most clearly improved/altered, for one), there's not much to complain about when they've only just started asking for optional payment for DLC that comes with an update. Even if you don't like the DLC, you'll get a free update, anyway ;).

If we never got updates before, these updates that come WITH the DLC would have more people feeling a lot more appreciative.

PD weren't required to give us updates. They were needed, but that's all. Yes, with a franchise like GT, we feel obligated in getting what we deserve for expecting more, but you should all know the deal by now. PD weren't rushed when looking at the entirety of GT5's development. PD were forced to release it (which is a little bit of a good thing, now that we're getting User "wishlist" updates).

There's not much to complain about when PD have been giving a great, great many of us what we wanted. I was even HOPING for new themes. Now, that's like they read my mind.

Because I'm the one they should be listening to. <<<sarcasm

It has always been a great series, and now with the these periodic updates and DLCs ... it just keeps improving. Amazing.

I've been playing GT5 since release day and I enjoy it more now than ever. The updates have really improved the game quite drastically. I wonder if critics would score the game any better now then they did over a year ago.

Yesterday I did some laps round Spa in the XJ-13. Twas a beautiful drive that. Thats always been the beauty of Gran Turismo, finding a great combination of car and track out of the thousands of possible combinations and having a great drive.

Cheers Polyphony Digital and GT fans everywhere

I love the physics of GT5 and almost equally the overall improvement it gets with every update.
Thanx Kaz, GT5 is gaining little by little as time goes by!

Its a game that i can never just put away for good. I always come back to it and i enjoy it more and more each time I play it. Even if I stay away from the game for a month I still come back.

Hello,

I agree with this thread, when I need to unwind, I put on GT5 and it loosens my mind, when I was in a car wreck Gran Turismo assisted me in recovery.

My complements on PD making what they do even though people complaine but there are legalities and development time for content, so KY if you are looking into this site, keep up the good work.

Thanks.

Sorry to hear about the accident, that is never a good thing to experience :nervous::nervous:

If you haven't yet recovered than I wish you do soon and as complete as possible.

I'm just sitting here watching my son drive the XJ13 around Autumn Ring, using cockpit view, just enjoying the level of detail inside. Just asked him to view behind and pause - so that I could enjoy the level of detial in the engine bay, even my younger non car liking 7 year old son looked up from his Command and Conquer game and said 'Wow!'

How many times has anyone else ever paused a game to enjoy the graphics?

There's just nothing better than cruising around the 'Ring' in an XJ13 or 330 P4,
using cockpit view with all instruments and Track info turned off.
Pure relaxation, especially if you happpen to have a jack daniels to keep you company,:)

Really happy to see a thread like this one. All this PD slamming was starting to get real old. I see all these complaints, yet the people complaining still play the game. They can live in a perfect world and still find SOMETHING to gripe about.

I love this game for the simple reason it's fast paced and exciting. I think PD hit the nail on the head with this game.

Thanks Stigs lil bro, for restarting a thread about the good things here. And also for starting my day off on a positive note.👍

I'm disappointed with the few complements added!

Shame people are prepared to put more thought and effort into complaining than into sharing what they appreciate

I like GT5, and over time, am liking it more and more
I like the last B-spec seasonals, and enjoyed the interest they created on this forum

haha, looks like the only way to enjoy both driving and drinking eh?

Don't make it a habit though:)

Wow man, mission accomplished then! I made an internet stranger happy today, yay!

Thank you!

Akwaaba, there is no room for disappointment. It is quite common that critique is shared by bucketload while praise is rare and should be a appreciated.

You should be happy, sharing the joy of GT5 with your sons haha! Enjoy!

^^ Great compliment, well done:
com·pli·ment
Noun:
A polite expression of praise or admiration.
Verb:
Politely congratulate or praise (someone) for something.

I was in a great shuffle lobby a couple of days ago, I got blessed with a Z3M coupé, nice... & the track.... Nurburgring change time, set to early morning.

Race started in full darkness, and after the first 1/4 lap, the light began to change, and the sunrise was truly magnificent! GT5 is such a well designed, drawn, thoughtfully produced game.... and when in a room of like minded clean racers/buddies, this game is simply the greatest console game I've ever played.

La Sarthe change time is also a spectacular place to race.

More like this please PD.

I think GT5 is one of those games peopel expect MORE of and therefor they are also more critical.
When I look at the racing games out, there is really nothing that is like GT5.

My favorite thing is the fact that there is everything from single, championship to endurance races.
I think for me the endurance is one of the best things.
Getting some guys together and just take run for a couple of hours.

- I very much like the great variaty in cars the game has to offer, (F1 cars, road cars, old cars, new cars, concept cars, exotic cars, DTM cars, NASCAR cars, muscle cars, kart-'cars', european cars, american cars, japanese cars, FR cars, MR cars, RR cars, 4WD cars, i can go on and on and on)

- I also like the fact that the game is extremely realistic (really, people new to the series don't realize this) and how spot on the track times are to the real world track times. This spot on of times amazes me every single time.

- I like how you can really get to know cars better due to the game, understand differences in drivetrain and it's effects on car performance, suspension tuning/settings and it's effects, effect of carweight on performance, LSD settings and it's effects, etc. etc.

- I like how detailed cars are modelled, and how each car has a little bit of description about it's history and characteristics.

- I like how there are differences in cars in they're performances, for example that the F40 has phenomenal brakes compared to some other car.

- I like how, when driving with a wheel (DFGT and up, quality wise) you really have some sort of 'feeling' to the car due to the Force Feedback, and how well this is implemented in the game (it mimmicks real life very well).

Most importantly: again, i like how realistic and good the physics of this game are! And i mention this again: people new to the game/series really don't realize that, neither do people that have never driven a car, never felt wheelspin, over-/understeer, the effects of bumps in the road, etc. etc.

I'm asking myself till DLC car pack 2 went on PSN Store:Is it tradable?I looked at mygranturismo.net and it says it is!The mini, scirocco,GTR,all of them!Is that truth?

Today I drove a 2003 Mazda 6 around Suzuka Circuit. Why? Because I felt like it. How? Gran Turismo 5 gave me the proper tools to do so. I enjoy driving the supercars, but I also enjoy driving the everyday vehicles, especially at places I will probably never get to go to in real life. How many other games can you do that in? That's why I continue to play GT5 a year later.
