I already paid $60, pre-ordered.

"Pre-order" isn't "bought." Sony doesn't owe you anything, whoever you pre-ordered it from does. You have no basis for the entitlement you seem to be saying that you have. Sony could outright cancel GT5 tomorrow for all the difference it would make to what they "owe" you.

I think it's because really bad sounding Mclaren F1 Stealth car. They need to fix it.
Do you hear guys?Don't give PD any ideas!Don't tell that you don't like something in this game...In this case we at-least have a chance to see it this year...

(Ok - bad joke.)

just got off the phone and got my refund being wired back to my credit card. I will not pick this up even when it comes out. I will wait and see if its really worth it. I was going to buy a ps3 as well on the day it comes out

lol omg ,i don't know how much we have to wait more but i think 2-3-4 weeks
for 2-3-4 weeks you are changing your whole opinion about this game ? 👎

we waited more then 5 years , 2.3 weeks doesn't change much

ps: alucard0712 : no i think it was a good joke :D iam laughing now

Normally the burning of the Bluerays and printing of the covers etc would be done by now...

So it really is a marketing thing...

Sony is the worse company with marketing campaigns...👎

Really? You mean the patience that I had when I've waited for 9 months?

9months? I'm sure it was first supposed to be released back in 2008..
It was first announce like 5-6years ago so waiting 9 months is nothing.
Waiting an extra few weeks is miniscule compared to when it was first announced.

You know, it very well could be 2-3 months. Are you willing to sit there and say you believe it will be out by christmas? Come on...

You're right. I should be happy that it's delayed.

I have to say...all these people crying and saying they're going to cancel their preorder or not buy the game because of this delay...what are they even doing on this site in the first place.

I kind of can't wait for GT5 to release just so this site gets back to normal as, you know, a place for fans of the series and not just a bunch of trend surfers and fair weather fans that will buy it just because it's so high profile and only play it for a few weeks.

If you love GT then this delay isn't going to make you change you change your mind about buying GT5 or hate PD all of the sudden.
Oh. My. Dear. Xenu. Is that an actual voice of reason in amongst all the pissing and moaning?

I couldn't agree with you more, TakeshiSkunk. I preordered the CE last week and it'll show up when it shows up. An extra month? Big. Flippin'. Deal.

Get over it people. It really is just a game. Why don't you all go outside and play for a while to cool off.

That's not true. It doesn't take 3 weeks to ship copies. PD probably weren't even finished with QA (though were probably very close), so it is likely that the game hadn't even gone gold yet.

So it really is a marketing thing...
We don't know that, and it wouldn't make any sense even if we did.

I guess I'll have time to play either F1 2010 or Medal of Honor, I'll just have to decide which one I'll buy.

Seriously, it's pathetic. They aren't giving us no reason or at least a postponed date. But hey that would be too logical, let's keep them waiting in the dark. That is a big '**** you in the face. Plus, I just preordered GT5 collector's edition 2 days ago at gamestop.... *sigh*

Given that no new release date has been given, the release date is now open ended, giving the possibility that it could be pushed back even further, possibly into 2011. The safe thing to do is not get caught up in counting down to a unknown Christmas date. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. In those immortal words of the Who, "We won't get fooled again" :)

"At least you're not pregnant".

You know, if some people didn't spend 24/7 on a website about a videogame that isn't even released yet you'd be able to take a minor delay in your stride.

Welcome to the real world.

Dammit Kazunori Yamauchi knows how hyped up everyone is about this right now.
He's been flaunting it in our faces for months now since giving us the release date.

"At least you're not pregnant".

Are you obsessed with saying "At least you're not pregnant"?
You're using it slightly wrong, say it to people moaning about waiting & so on.
Not to someone who doesnt mind the delay..

Why this has happened for those of you who are not the 8 year old OMG OMG I am selling my PS3 brigade.
You set a gold master date for a game usually 4 weeks before the desired street date. The master version is meant to leave your offices on that date, goes to your respective territory's duplication centre where it has a pre-booked slot and then gets shipped to all your retail outlets.

Often gold master dates slip but you still have a spare life. The actual process can take as little as maybe two and a half weeks or three weeks so if your account managers get on and get a new slot and your game is a big one then it gets prioritised ahead of others in the duplication queue.

All fine in principle but the reality is GT5 missed its Gold date and then has continued to fail to master because of critical bugs. Today they have evidently decided that it needs a new build with fixes and a new test cycle which if added to your minimum time for duplication and distribution means the original date now becomes physically impossible.

The reasons why it has failed repeatedly. Well, it is a very big game with probably too much new content for one jump ahead in the series and testing all realistic scenarios becomes a huge and thankless task. Testing of the online experience has apparently been especially arduous too.

New content apart from minor things like sound or videos should not have been added
after the Beta of the game which would have been in August. I would be surprised if that would have been adhered to. It is all a bit of a fiasco to be honest.

To answer a couple of early posts, to ship a broken game and patch it later would be suicide for the brand and for the console. While online does give you this option now, console manufacturers never want to be seen to following the often lazy example that you get with PC games and they are right to think this.

in return for this delay (delay count anyone?)

there better be a 🤬 livery editor...

and the tuning/customization system better blow any other racing game out the window too...

and there better be a Premium BMW E39 in the final game.

^^^ for those 3 things... i wont mind waiting another 6 months.

*now im waiting to get flamed*

You're right. I should be happy that it's delayed.
I didn't say that, smartass. But your overall tone in this thread, which is best seen in this post, is basically "I don't care why the game was delayed. I deserve the game the way I want it, and I deserve it when I want to have it."

Well, guess what: The world doesn't revolve around you, and it sure as hell doesn't revolve around you when it comes to purchasing something. You don't like that PD delayed the game? Fine. Don't buy it. Then feel free to shut up about it, because you don't "deserve" anything.

I realise now that something went wrong in translation for earlier announcements. PD didn't ever mean to confirm that snow and rain would be in the game, they meant to confirm that there would be snow and rain by the time we got the game.

And worry not, fair Australia, you've not been forgotten in all this. Your release has been officially pushed back to July 2011. 🤬 New Zealand though.
