I just noticed that the store I pre-ordered from says that the GT5 Collector's Edition that they are going to sell is an European import and DLC might not work with a Danish PSN account. That must mean there is a Nordic / Danish version of GT5 which I should get if I don't want to take any chances.

I don't know if DLC for GT5 has been confirmed but I expect they do offer some later on. So first of all how likely is it that any posssible GT5 DLC won't work if we import GT5 from a foreign country / region? Seconly, can anyone confirm whether GT5 DLC will be region locked (assuming there will be DLC)?

Danish PSN account works with entire EU, except for UK. You don't need anything special in that manner. Even if you get another region i think you can use your EU PSN for the DLC, not 100% sure though. Im getting the SE and CE, and i havent heard anything from my store about issues like this :)

I can only assume that they do it for the same reason that a bag of peanuts has 'may contain nuts' printed on the side, and why McDonalds put 'caution, hot!' on their coffee..... To cover their backs, pure and simple. You should be fine.

they dont wanna owe you anything so they write that for "safety issues"..

however, you CAN always just make a.. well a UK account for example (i have a US and jp accounts just for the store access (demos ect)

i would asume that just simply having the files downloaded on your ps3 would give you access to them, regardless of which account you're using when playing. (but ofc i dont know anything about this, im just simply guessing)

im preordering the same game from the same shop as you..

and yes as stated the "EU" PSN is completely the same in denmark, sweden, germany ect. apart from the languages ect

(and while we're mentioning this DLC and such - does anyone know if i can buy/get these cars in gran turismo mode, or only in arcade?)

Yes, they do it to be on the safe side and that must mean they think there is a chance it wouldn't work. However, you guys say that a Danish PSN account is EU compatible so I will keep my pre-order. :)

In other words, the store doesn't really need to cover its back.

I read the stuff on coolshop aswell, and i can't see the problem. I have had games from several different countrys, and never had problems with DLC, except for US games. It seems like coolshop might sell the UK version, wich isnt EU covered they say, but i havent had issues with UK so far. Maybe some change is comming i havent heard of. But then again, you can make a UK PSN if you like.

PS: If you decide to buy scand version of CE, i know EBgames in my town got a spare copy at price 650 dkr

Make a new PSN in the region/country that suits your GT5 copy if you want to be sure.

well for Region 3 EA game's online pass... I could only redeem code off the asian PSN. but the DLC still works in my US PSN primary account.

as long as u download the right DLC, you will be able to use it regardless which region of accounts

btw, i know for a fact you can DL several different versions of some DLC, depending on where you got the game from, if you use the DK PSN. Completly forgot about that.

People need to stop making general statements like this.

Some DLC, for some games, is region locked to the region of the game. ie if you have a US game you can only use US content. Until GT5 DLC comes out, we will not know whether eg US GT5 DLC will work with a PAL version of GT5.

I am especially interested in if PAL DLC will work on a US GT5 game based on the number of signature edition stealth DLC cars selling on ebay right now.

i think they used "extra contents" on the US/CA GT5 package to mean they are going to sell GT-TV VOD items (like in GT5P) and not some amazing car pack DLC... :|

DLC does only work for the region as the original game.

However as has already been answered to the OP, he has nothing to fear as Danish is the same as the EU region.

hello, I have a question, how do I know what region my game is from? reason im asking because I want to purchase a signature edition for me in the states.

No worries, they handed me the Nordic version so it's probably an error on their website unless they took in extra supplies of the Nordic version.

i have another question. my girlfriend bought me a ps3 from beijing. i have a us gt5 ce but havent opened it yet (waiting for finals to be over). would the dlc work with my chinese ps3?

I was looking on ebay also, i would like to know what codes are what?

Like there is the 5 car dlc which the auctions say must have asian psn account to use.

Then there are the 2 cars packs like the gamestop one mclaren stealth plus nascar. USA obviously.

Then there is a mclaren stealth, amg stealth. What region is this for? Seller does not list any region say works on all accounts long as you can connect to psn.

And are there any 5 car packs for the US version? I cannot seem to tell one way or another for sure if codes will work on other accounts, but the general consensus i get is that asian codes even if you register a asian account and dl them to your ps3 they will not work with your US game, so i am working on the assumption that buying the rather nicely priced apex guide + 5 stealth models dlc codes would be a waste of my time if i want the cars.

I live in the US and bought the EU Signature Edition. I created a French profile on the XMB, went into the EU store, redeemed my codes, and downloaded the signature edition cars (I see them in the saved data). HOWEVER, when I entered the game, I didn't receive any of these cars. I only received the US cars that I redeemed from Gamestop. This obviously is a total bummer! But there's gotta be a way somehow for this to work.

Now I'm wondering, do I have to change the regional setting in my PS3? Or should I open up the European PAL GT5 game and see if it'd work on that (because I'm playing the US NTSC version)? I'd appreciate any advice! Thanks in advance!!!!

the codes will work with the EU version of the game disc, I dont know if the region of the PS3 will be a problem.

I bought some codes of ebay with the apex book before I got my sig edition, they were Japanese region and didnt work.
