he said "I have been an unconditional GT fan." ... past tense. Just like how i feel.

Being an unconditional fan means staying loyal no mater what the "condition" is. The current condition is making him no longer "unconditional".

A sellout?

Is he trading national secrets? No, granted the reaction is a bit "mreh" but other than that...how dare someone want to play another racing title on a different console.

How dare they.
Selling national secrets=treason, not selling out, but I get your point.
I was exaggerating my point, as he was his. But of course you would encourage someone to pick up forza.

So, to you treason isn't sel....

Know what? That's not even important here.

And you are right, of course I would say that but not for the mundane reason you've stated, I said it because I have the propensity to appreciate more than one game. Only thing you're doing by lowering your head toward Forza (If you indeed are doing so) is giving fanboys of the game one more reason, one more snide remark toward GT. Same goes for both sides.

Oh, and changing your original statement doesn't change a thing.

I have forza, I liked it, never told him not to get it but of course you....
doesn't matter, mr.forza.
No, I don't mean that in a negative way, but you'll take it that way anyway.

See what PD/Sony has done ... they have changed the meaning of unconditional, now it's no quite so unconditional :)

Gran Turismo 5 release in fall = b*ll****

KY has intentionally kept his jaws clenched concerning the release date for 5 years now, fact.
And now some Portugese Sony executive I for one have never heard of is revealing the release date all of the sudden? I don't think so.
Just as everybody unfortunately, I don't know the real release date, but I do know it is not going to be announced by this Portugese guy.
He is just guessing and hoping it will do his career any good (btw I don't think so :)).

So Gran Turismo release in fall = b*ll****, because it is as much a fact as Lindsey Lohan is smart.

p.s. I won't be surprised if they announce the release date a short time before the actual day of release, remember how late they announced the TT.

Wishful thinking. This guys is a Sony executive in the European market, the biggest for the GT franchise, he knows. It is more likely Sony is letting us know this way to TEST consumer reactions.

What they expected? Us to trow them flowers and have a stupid smile in our jackass faces? :dunce: LOL if that is true man :P

:banghead:

So you agree with Dan Greenawalt that Forza is the new king?

If Sony would tell us what the "delay for GT5 in Japan" was, we might actually get somewhere. But for all we know a "delay" could be anything from a major glitch PD has to correct, to a PD employee that arrived late one day.

I think its as simple as this

January: MAG

February: Heavy Rain

March: God of War III, Final Fantasy XIII

Why release GT5 anywhere near these great games?

I expect a GT5 blowout at this year's E3, with it's release shortly thereafter, maybe in August or September

The long release date doesnt bother me because there is no other racing game out there I see worthy of my time.

Because it needs to be said 'Why release these games near GT5?' GT5 is the cash crop, not these new jacks

God of War and MAG aside, Final Fantasy is nothing close to being a "new jack."

It brings in it's own money with the RPG crowd, it's one of the "be all end all" games in the genre.

Telling us what the delay was actually for wont acheive anything, the game will come when it comes.

FF won't make Sony much money unless people buy a console at the same time.

Anyway, people here need to stop being drama queens. That is the reason I stopped visiting the "official" GT forum on Playstation.com.

What can you say? XBOX fanboys are right, GT has become a joke.
Before - Income Tax = Wheel for PS3, and waiting for GT's spring/summer release.
After - Income Tax = XBOX = Forza3 = Wheel for XBOX = GT can kiss my ass.

So I guess this is likely my farewell to GTPlanet also, as I really have no reason to continue visiting, since it would seem GT5 won't be coming out in my lifetime, so I'll be selecting from "alternative" sources of racing enjoyment.

Guess I might start looking into PC games also, apparently iRacing, etc are very good also.

See this is the problems they're causing. They're losing customers and potential customers through this. It is a huge pain in the neck - that said however - I will remain loyal to GTPlanet and PD, I'll still buy GT5. But PD and Sony really do need to pull their heads into gear.

Au revoir :dopey:

I don't know about him, but I will rent it and will buy it later on for cheap, because if GT5 turns out to be like I expect, it will be a huge disappointment for me. (i.e. not all NASCAR/ IRL tracks, no full grids for NASCAR, Performance Points , poor scenery, Vsync, framerate issues, unchanging track conditions, poor control implementation for DS3, [list goes on forever]... lost my faith completely. :/

Dude, the only problem is time, don't give up 👍

There is no way that is happening, if it as a dedicated Nascar game then I would expect it but in GT your expectations are way too high.

Why GT5 is taking so long:

Christmas time at PD. The game is content complete! Now, just a few months of polishing here, optimising there, and GT5 is good to go. PD are having a little office party to celebrate, there's some champagne, there're nibbles, there's a great vibe. Everyone is happy.

Kaz enters the office. He has taken to wearing a driver's helmet at all times now. People stifle their laughter.

Kaz:"Good job everyone! Cheers!"
All:"Cheers!"
Kaz:"Well, as you'll no doubt have heard, I've just got back from my endurance race, it's good news all round!"
Everyone lifts their glasses and cheers.
Kaz:"To celebrate, I'm going to try out the Honda I've just raced in GT5!"
Nervous glances all round.
PD coder 1:"Come now, Yamauchi-san, why not wind down, have a drink-"
Kaz takes to the controls.

10 minutes later

Kaz:"No. No, no, no! There's something off, it just doesn't feel right. Doesn't feel real!"
PD coder 1:"But Yamauchi-san, the game is due for release, we've done all the content now, it's too late to-"
Kaz:"Do you see this helmet I am wearing?"
PD coder 1:(looks down)"Yes, Yamauchi-san. I see the helmet."
Kaz:"Do you know where I got this helmet?"
PD coder 1:(still looking down)"You got it at the endurance race, Yamauchi-san."
Kaz:"At the endurance race. That's right. Where I raced. In a real car. At a real race. Because I, unlike you, am a real racing driver, you see."
PD coder 1:(looks back up)"But please, Yamauchi-san, it's just a simulation, it will never feel completely real-"
Kaz points to his helmet. PD coder 1 looks back down.
Kaz:"It is not quite right. Do it again. All of it, again."
:lol::lol:

I must admit I bought Forza 3 again the other day and another Xbox 360 as wanted to play Mass Effect 2 (was both games free with Elite) and also wanted something to fill the void of driving the few tracks on Prologue over and over and spending far too much time on these forums hoping for news.

Forza 3 may be far from perfect but I've now found it's alot more fun than sitting here on these forums...Oh wait a minute....I am here on these forums...:dopey:

But as another thread is talking about, I feel that the GT5 timescale and hype has pushed expectations beyond all reason now and the longer we wait, the more we feel the right to expect something amazing.
