After watching the Bud Shootout tonight, I can't wait to run some online NASCAR races at Daytona. Taking something for a spin around Laguna Seca and Tsukuba Circuit. Good think I am saving vacation time for when the game releases. Gonna spend a lot of time playing those first few days. :D

So what are you guys looking forward most to in GT5?

Well, everyone is looking forward on Polyphony Digital's promises on GT5. The very-late release date is not going to worth anything to us if their promises turn to nothing.

I am not restless but at this point a simple "we are sorry for delaying the game" would be nice.

What is actually bugging me is that GT5 may be almost done and Sony is delaying it for their "marketing strategies".

I'm looking forward to some new (and classic) endurance races. Something about the strategy in choosing the right car, right tires and right times to pit is very intruiging to me. I'm also looking forward to seeing what certain tracks look like at night. I've raced around High Speed Ring for 10 years during the day... It will be quite the experience to drive it at night.

If people complain about the trees, you people go with the "it's a racing game" argument. If we complain about reverse lights, you go with the "we will never see them" argument. How convenient.

At the end of the day, the game can't be criticized for little (but important in the case of reverse lights) details, but it can be praised for them.

Personally if you complain about reverse lights I'd use the racing game argument there too - F1 cars don't have them. You want to talk about engine sound or handling then I'm all ears but whining cos the ashtray doesn't open just seems like nitpicking to me.

i want to race in 24h endurance races. At least it could be 8 hours for racing would be cool.2 drivers can drive 1 car thanks to pit changes..i hope gt5 has weather system too. Dynamic or static doesnt matter.Last delay may help to acquire Porsche licence. i wish all of them couldnt be in gt5 we would have played GT5. Beacuse of that features might delay gt5 release,Updates come in handy for sure.

I'm looking forward to not having to press the start button at exactly 15min intervals in the hope that I can connect to a couple of decent drivers and not too many punters.

Roll on online interface 2.0, private rooms, invites, starting a new race without having to go back to the main menu...

I think some of you guys misunderstand the meaning of nitpicking. Saying a car is missing lug nut in one wheel is nitpicking. Saying that every car in the game that has reverse lights but they don't function is not. See the difference?

I guess you don't, otherwise we wouldn't be having this argument. And by the way, F1 cars aren't the only cars in the world.

As I said, pointless to have this argument here. People want to defend this game so much they will think of anything to do it. I find funny that Kaz's perfectionism is praised so much. Well, I suppose he is not a perfectionist at all. He has fantastic graphics in his game (and even there, he isn't the one who makes them), but I believe that's it. Physics? I can't judge them, but for what I've heard, they are fantastic also. Having a lot of cars doesn't add to the perfection, as neither tracks or features. I honestly don't want this to go further than that, I'm tired and I know you guys are too, so...

To the question posted a few pages back, I'm looking forward to drive in NASCAR and in the 'Ring, with both the old 300SL and the new SLS AMG. 👍 Other than that, driving a Lotus Elise on whatever track I find interesting. :D

Disclaimer:

I do not claim that lack of reverse lights or trees will be the end of the world. But please, PD. Reverse lights? They should have been there since GT1. It's not like you would have so much trouble implementing them. Considering what you have done since then, that is.

I'm looking forward to seeing things we have not yet thought about. These guys are professionals and they probably look at these forums and think 'trees....skidmarks...reverse lights? Wait until they see this!' I mean what was that video about with the bizarre trangle thing that was to simulate g-force or summit. Did anoyone pick up on that being a function included in the game? What else are they hiding?

Has someone here subscribed the game magazine GameInformer? There is a feature, in which "Sony’s head of internal development, Shuhei Yoshida, explains why the company cuts the Gran Turismo 5 developer so much slack". Would be nice if someone can scan the feature.

what about this video, slightly better

I think the video quality of this is the best we've seen for the Nürburgring, it looks really crisp. The cockpit view tends to wash out the clouds with the HDR lighting (see news page video for comparisson). What is it with those stupid people walking in front of the camera! And what is it with cameramen/women and GT5, none of them know how to take decent video or know what the fans want to see!
