I hope GT5 will have LeMans cars again. I did really like them in GT4. Porsche might be in this game too, but it would be awesome if Lamborhini would join GT5. And I hope I can buy a Formula one car again in GT5. I'm driving it in the Prologue, it's awesome, but I hope I will be able to drive in it in the full version too without completing a 24 hour endurance first :( And I did really like the driving license tests in GT4. I got the S license in GT4 and played that game for two years. (After that two years I bought a ps3 :P )

LeMans specials have been the most interesting cars in GT4 for me, I just love flying Hunaudieres straight with Mazda 787B, it's so intensive and rewarding.

I always avoided the LMP's. I figured they would wear out my DFP, not to mention, they were to twitchy for my taste. Same goes for the the Formula GT car.

Rather than start a pointless new thread, I'll post it here where only dedicated people interested in more than just whining will read it.;)

I went in to sell off some old PS2 games today (including GT4, but since I don't have a PS2 any more anyway.......), and I thought, while I'm here may as well ask if they can reserve me a GT5 copy when it comes out. This was at EB Games, and they said yes. That's not the interesting part. While giving me details on what I could expect he said "OK, we don't have prices or an exact release date yet, but it will (key word there) be out some time this year".

That means that somebody has told the EB Games franchise that GT5 will definitely be out some time this year.:D

Awesome stuff! Great info Paulie really appreciate it. :)

I bet with that "Key" word they sold it to you didn't they, :sly: sometimes sales people tell you what you want to hear, even when it is not the truth. ( If the people who work in your game stores are like some who work here, they make things up to appear like they know more than everyone else and they really don't ) Lets hope they were telling the truth, but I highly doubt it will be out this year, well it might be in Japan, but everywhere else will probably be a few months later at least.

Somehow I doubt it, Australian store persons (especially in a lowly game store) aren't as likely to lie like that. Additionally, I don't see how saying a release date could sell the game for them, because it would therefore be the same down the street. No, they sold me the copy by actually having a system set up to reserve copies already. Their only competition (in my eyes) won't reserve the game yet. Since I expect it to sell before it even hits the shelves, I'm glad I could get in early.;)

Good to hear. So maybe you can post a few tunes for helping us pass the tricky S license test from day one:)👍

What country are you from? Mental note- Australia is always the last place in the world to get anything, unless it's a global release all on the same day.;) That said, we'd still be progressing through the game at the same pace, maybe I'll be slower while I sit around earning cash to get a Holden. I also don't think you'll be allowed tunes on license tests.;)

This bit rings true - nearly everytime I've had dealings with videogame stores the advice I've gotten has been almost completely BS-free, as opposed to sales staff in other types of shop.

You kidding? They lie their asses off, so much false information comes from game store employees it's not funny. I'm not saying the guy you talked to is lieing but I don't ever believe gameshop eployees.

Not so much to sell you things (although that too sometimes) but just to act like they know what they're talking about, some of them act like a they're industry insiders.

What possible advantage could that give them? There's no sales adavantage coming from lying for a game store person.

Like Fifa 09, GT5 should give you a choice of currency. It won't make a difference in game play, but, it would give you an idea of how much money is being spent.
eg. What is your country or region? You answer U.K you get £
You answer America and you get $ and so on.
Just to fill the curiosity of how much money you have. I think it would work better than credits. :D

Belgium, so commonly not the first served either. A worldwide release would be awesome and also a possibility given the huge development time. (more on this @E3 hopefully)

If I remember well, some license test in Prologue were PP based and allowed to change car setup. Hoping PD doesn’t drop that feature. Anyway I can understand your facility could suffer some unexpected “closed” days once the game is out.:)

This thread isn't a wishlist AdamJT89.;)

Edit: @ Soundtrack, the events in GT5:P aren't really an indication of license tests in GT5, I think they will return to traditional style tests in the full game, or at least, I hope!

Why does anyone lie?

For one, they secured a sale (linked to that sales persons name), that person wouldn't have known if you put a reserve anyway or not.

And two it makes them look like they know what talking about, customer service looks good.

Sales people lie all the time.

Even then, Microsofts fantastic world release of the Xbox360 they bragged so much about excluded Australia for many months...

For one, if he gave me a release date even if he didn't know, I could just as easily go down the mall and reserve it at the other store.

Two, customer knows best.

A store person is going to lie
a. They think they would look like an idiot being in a game store and not knowing an answer. Some people who have no idea about games think that a storeperson is going to have played and know every game in the store.

b. To those customers who know no better, they think that the store is knowledgeable and reputable so decide they would rather shop from a place that knows what they are talking about rather than Target, kmart, etc.

In reference to your situation Paulie, they pretty much lied to secure a sale. Stores always put "place fillers" for games as knowing they have xx number of future sales when the game does come out is good for business. EB has had Playtv listed for a good 6 months now and no date listed anywhere and nothing indicated anywhere when it is coming out.

What's wrong with them having a setup for reserving games? At least they're making an effort to build sales, which to me shows a more enthusiastic business. I've been wanting to reserve GT5 for months now knowing it will sell well and wanting to get in early. JB HiFi never let me reserve it so EB it is. Places like Target and K-Mart normally don't start reserving stuff until a week or 2 before it's out....

What is wrong with it is that they effectively are lying. They have no release date or even a release period yet told you it will be out this year. Most people won't be happy about it if come end of the year, their reserved copy of GT5 is not out. They will be even more unhappy if come a month before release, EB turns around and tells them that oh the game is out in 2 versions actually, oh and if you want the better version it will cost $160 AUD not the $100 we told you before.

Sure JB, Target, etc. don't offer pre-orders till very soon before the release but that is because they wait for the game to actually have a definite price and be physically produced, and most likely on the way from the manufacturer. At that point they have a concrete product for customers and the date they say a game will come out will most likely be right.

Personally I shop at EB even though I disagree with how they operate. Clearly overcharge anybody who doesn't do their research, try to make sales for stuff that is way too early to even know enough details to be able to sell it.

But that is only because of their price matching policy (which doesn't apply to pre-orders unless you go back after release (within 7 days normally) and ask for a price match then) and their 7 day money back guarantee. I like to not have to worry that I may be stuck with a game I end up not enjoying.

Yep, I go there too but I never pay the shelf price, I do quick research and then deal with them, they never have problems with it (request proof) except ask where it was cheaper.

I go the them mainly because they're easy to deal with if you want a refund or exchange, or if you want to change a preorder or anything.

This thread is like a ghost town now since it seems like every one is going to the winds are whispering thread. Can't wait for another criptic message before E3 2009 just to get me more hyped up for the GT5 release.

I have one question,
is Fanatec's Carrera or Turbo steering wheel compatible with GT 5:P?
on their site it says that is compatible with all PC racing games and only some for PS3....

there was about 4 different variations of the Ae86 in GT4 hope that in GT5 there is the model like in GRID with the different body style i yhink that one looks cool too.

I think I seen it before, and I think it is a guess made by that particular company so they get your money.
