WaW !! i love the enzo !!

Did anyone else notice the swerve the AI-Enzo does to avoid the (human) Gallardo in Turn 3 of the second lap?

Nice piece of sensible AI-driving. Gives me hope that GT5 really is a big step forward in that department.

That's one small step for racing games, one giant leap for Polyphony digital :D

Hi everybody. I'm playing GT series from the release of the first one in 1998. I'm completly addict to GT but, to wait the 5th, i have decided to try NFS shift. The physics/graphics are not great as GT but still fun to play. So here is my little tribute to Gran Turismo, did on the nordshleife with the NSX (an absolute legend for me since GT1). First song is from GT1 American intro, second song is from GT1 Japan intro. My aim was to set a lap without any slide or other arcade stuff, not to set a hotlap. This video is just about the fun of cruising, hope you will apreciate it.

PS: I can't wait to lap the Nürburgring with the 90's NSX on GT5 !

WAY off topic here...

Intensely frustrating PD posted that feature list with the comments about the track count, then took it down, and never clarified....

Beautiful Enzo vid! So neat to see that thing flying around a track.

Yeah I noticed it when I first saw the clip and I must admit I was slightly shocked in a good way. I pretty much expected that Lamborghini to be treated to a rear ending as per usual, but seeing that was a very pleasant surprise!

When this was originally said, I translated the original Japanese myself (wish I'd kept it now), and the way the language was used (20 circuits, 70 layouts) indicated over 20 real world tracks (Nuerburgring, Laguna Seca, La Sarthe, Suzuka, Fuji etc.) and over 70 PD-created tracks (Trial Mountain, High Speed Ring, Eiger, London, Midfield etc.). "Circuit" implies a track that already exists and "Layout" implies one that has been laid out (created).

Whether those 70 include forward/backward and short versions, or whether they are just 70 tracks and you can add the forward/backward/short versions onto that I don't know and can't speculate. But I'm confident in my interpretation because I did it (I would be :lol: ) from the original language, rather than a second translation from French... Of course, it's up to you whether you agree with me or not.

While it is easy to agree with this in optimism, I believe this the truth. If you look at the number of locations/tracks that have been confirmed it only leaves room for about 1-2 more.

Eiger (F/R/long?), Suzuka (short/full), London (short/long/reverse), Fuji (F1/GT), HSR (F/R), Daytona (Oval/Street), TGTT, Madrid, Rome, Tskuba, Indy (Oval/Street), The Ring (Nord/GP), Le Mans (Old/New), Tuscany (458 video), Route 5, Tokyo Route 246, Stelvio Pass (FT-86 video), Monaco (old trailer) and Spa (only rumors).

Thats 17-19 locations and 28-30 tracks (the last two are mostly rumored). If the ~70 total pans out that does not add up since I included reverse layouts we know about. Assuming 20 means in the 20's that gives us 3-13 more locations. Even if we got say 5-8 more tracks each with 2-3 layouts it still wrong. Also out of all the confirmed tracks only 8-10 are new (ie don't need to go out and get info on). Say PD unveils 2-5 more tracks. You mean to tell me in 5+ years they made 10-15 tracks? That does not sound right.

I think that this is the same AI, that was used in GT for PSP. I too was surprised that I don't receive hits from behind (AI cars do their best to avoid crashing in to you) Sometimes, if hey are slow, they will make way for you to pass and overtake them. Plus, that video showing McLaren F1 (where people was like "oh noes, Lotus beats them all") Lotus was slow, this is why the first car was far ahead of this pack, and the other cars did not wanted to bump the Lotus.

Not to cause a ruckus (quite the opposite), but everyone keeps whining about the music. I assume this is because they like me would prefer to hear the engine note and such (like me, you probably have the in game music turned off in your settings, too). Still, this Mimaximax says on every video post:

"No custom soundtrack in this demo. Background noise recorded by the camera was quite annoying, so I switched to an other track using Youtube's audioswap function. You still can turn off sound."

I assume the music then is semi-random and not someone's artistic interpretation of what should be playing in the background. Cool out a little and turn off the sound as suggested. I will.

What? White looks great on pretty much every car.

And here's the exception ( btw, most cars look awful in white IMO ).;)

The music....why the music in the supercar videos!! :ouch:

Beautiful eye candy though, and the AI did look improved too!

Hmm, tenuous 👍 :P

If I were in the same position, I'd probably do the exact same (assuming I didn't think the ambient sounds were at all representative.)

White does look good in every good looking car, if something look hideous in almost every color, in will look bad in white too, like that maybach, analog, colors cannot perform automotive styling miracles. ;)

Don't know about your guys, but I'm waiting the next video from minimax, I know that's the same freaking demo again and again, but I need some eye candy, what about that gallardo again, but now at the ring and using cockpit view huh? BTW, ferrari's interior are far more attractive than lambo's in my opinion.

I too like white cars, but I don't think it's a colour that suits pretty much every car. I tend to find that sporty cars, or cars that have a lot of contrasting black on them (Golf GTI being a good example), look great in white. Larger cars with a lot of large panels and flat surface area generally do not, IMO anyway. At the moment I think one of the nicest looking white cars out there is the Audi R8.

I, personally, tend to associate manufacturers to a specific colour.

Porsche -> grey
Ferrari -> red
Volkswagen -> blue
Corvette -> yellow
Peugeot -> grey
Mitsubishi -> red
Aston Martin -> grey
Jaguar -> green

No specific reason, I think its something more psychological than anything... However, I do like some of these cars in other colours to, like for example, Ferrari. I love blue and light grey ferraris.

As for white, I generally don't like them, although I do associate Honda to white. Toyota, on the other hand, is Red for me.

A new game for us to play whilst we wait.

Mercedes Benz - Silver :)

Ford - Black

I think it has to do with the shape and line of the car. A car with harder, more defined edges like the Enzo would look better in white than a more rounded, softer edged car like the Audi R8- which doesn't look that bad in white but pale in comparison, no pun intended, to a darker painted one.

But...it's just so much more fun to complain!

Yes! Grigio Ingrid is amazing, nothing else like it...

Of course, I only like the "real" Ferraris - 12 cylinders in the front...

Yes 👍! A couple of months ago, on my way back home from the office at the beginning of night I passed by a gorgeous, immaculated Ferrari 330 in a grey slightly darker from that one. I've must have spent 10 minutes walking around the car, drooling:drool:.

Last week I've seen a black F430 for the first time, it's not that bad either.

I'm fortunate enough to walk by everyday on my way home from the office on a auto sales stand specialized in pre-owned luxury sports car so I get to see some very nice cars. Lot of Aston Martins there presently (DB9, Vanquish), 360 Modena, F430, Porsche 911 GT2 (996), so on... even utnil recently they had a 1970 original Lotus Seven Mk.IV (squared nose) there - too bad it was red, and not green!:grumpy:
