But isn't high expectations for an upcoming game show sort of become GTPlanet tradition now? ;)

All what i know is

1- we are waiting for a trailer
http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2010/03/08/europe-to-get-gt5-hd-video-soon/

2- Mr Penrose Tackie said Sony will make an announcement soon(March 13rd) Look what day is today there`s no trace about that

Now Sony confirms his E3 Press Conference on June 15th, we have to wait until June 15th or what?

From a business standpoint. From a marketing standpoint. And from a moral standpoint: News has to come soon!

E3 isn't the Tokyo Auto Salon or CES. It's E3. The E3.

But we've been scarred so many times that I see how it's simple to be skeptical.

You know what Penrose Tackle said nearly a month ago :) :
I cannot qualify ’soon’ any further, however development is progressing well and we will make the launch announcement shortly. Please bear with us – the end product will be worth the wait!

As we should. This game has been in development for over half a decade, and they keep trying to keep their promises about the game being released (I should have GT5 in my hands by now) but yet, they keep delaying everything. I'm starting to believe the game isn't even half way done from what they've shown us.

Time for Jordan to reinstate the "Post Complaint" button, by the looks of it.

Blasphemy! :P
Trouble's a-brewin', that's for sure! Get ready to batten down the hatches, the flood's coming!

Oh, wait... we've been there.

I'm going all out this year, gonna make a banner welcoming GT5 into my home and everything! I reckon if I'm going to go overboard, I may as well make a big splash!

I remember KY stating that GT5 is very much like the original GT, in that it requires a lot of time and effort (about 5 years).

But I have a suspicion that production didn't start RIGHT away. I mean, the PS3 wasn't out in 2005 when GT4 released, and PD had other pending projects. My guess is that they've been working like mad men for the past 2.5 years, but in regard to the first 2.5, well, they worked a at a slower pace/focused on other titles.

GTpsp(infortunately)👎 and GT5prologue:tup:

I always wonder why they want to put EVERYTHING in GT5?I remember when GT3 is released there is not so many cars as in GT2 but it really great showcase what new console can do.While we playing GT3 they make "ultimate" GT4.Even GT4 prologue was released.
I mean it's sad that they don't split GT5 into GT5 and GT6.
Again from what we see in GT5 Prologue the game IS good enough that we can play it - just add more cars and more tracks.Again we see that many of unseen tracks and cars are ready by the time (2009).They need just release it in one game and later put NASCAR, more cars, more tracks,3D etc in GT6.

Another think that i don't understand is THAT perfection politics. In early days (even to PS2) difference between normal and really polished games are very noticable.I understand it - there is no way to fix what you already put in game - so good developers are really polish there games. But now times has changed. Now about ALL of gamers have a high-bandwith internet.I think patches and updates are OK now.We can enjoy the game, by the time new content and fixes are released. It's even a chance that developers notice there bugs earlier than you...AGAIN at least we CAN enjoy the game. It's better than not playing game at all.
And in the end of all.WHAT IF IT'S NOT WORTH THE WAIT?Ok ok im sure that GT5 will be a greatest game but it not hurting it if they split it into two games and release GT5 (maybe with half of the content) at Christmas 2009.

Ok that's all!Just random thoughts...

My friend,do you know that PD and Mr.Kaz are a japanese people??that's all!!:sly:

I think it's because they want to make GT5 the only GT released for PS3, so they can begin to prepare optimizing all the assets in GT5 ready for GT6 on PS4, in likely 2012. With the current assets, they can probably reuse them, meaning they won't have to spend another 5 years modelling 1000 cars again, giving PD around two years to get ready for PS4.

I'm predicting GT6 will be a carbon copy of GT5 content wise, but with more RAM, and probably ray-traced rendering (as Kaz said that's something for the future) as well, GT6 will probably look even better than GT5, and closer to the kind of offline renders we've seen....that is, assuming Sony decide to make the PS4 a powerful machine. If we get a repackaged PS3, well....

That's what you think. I couldn't disagree more. 👎

It's sad that they don't split GT5 into GT5, GT6 and GT7.

GT7, the name alone sounds so awesome.

I believe that GT5:P was kinda like a poor version of GT3, with so little tracks. But if people have played the hell out of it for a couple of years already, I'm sure they would have played it longer with at least twenty tracks and more cars.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on that one. The white R8 looks way better than the black in my opinion and that right there is the most important thing. It's my own opinion.
Not everybody is going to like a certain car in one particular colour. It's just personal preference...

Then I guess now you have look into this study that determines the psychology behind car colour preference ;) http://www.driving.ca/What+your+colour+reveals+about/1786574/story.html

Or a good version of GT4:P. ;)

You so dying to see NASCAR (with 16 cars as seen on trailers),"damage" (don't know why we need it), Motion Controller (WTF?), 3D (can easely comes with patch) or maybe another ~150 cars?
You want those NOT VERY IMPORTANT things so badly that you can wait for it another YEAR? (as Kaz mentioned at E3 - "comes VERY soon, sooner than you think" - expected OCT-NOV 2009,but now expected OCT NOV 2010...)

I'd rather play GT5 without NASCAR, "damage", even WRC but right now - i can play it another 2 years before GT6 comes out (at latest PS3 days).
To say I'm playing GT4 right now instead of Prologue...

Surely it's my own opinion but there is many good reasons for this opinion.

(don't get me wrong - PD and KAZ are genius - I trust them, but GT5 is REALLY very first game that i wait soooo long and it's soooo painful!!!)

So,do you want gt4 with hd graphic and more cars and tracks??No way man!!

Bah, it's nearly there. 90% in September -> It's pretty much done, yo? Therefore, I'm pretty chilled, I know I don't have to wait too long, and it'll pretty much rock the stuffing out of my world when it gets here!

We'll know something new at least by the time E3 rolls around.

I never say this.
GT5 Prologue is HUGE step from GT4.Quality of GT5P is already above Forza and Shift.Very good quality.
I want "Prologue" with TTdemo sound and physics with much more cars and tracks, 9-6 month earlier AND then 2 years later (1.5 from now) buy "ultimate" GT6 with ALL those NASCARs,WRCs,3Ds,Motion Controllers support,Eye Toys,1500 cars,100 tracks, good damage on all cars,PORSCHES,tons of HD videos and more...on 4 layered blu-ray at any cost...

But now i can easly play GT5 without all of these...if only they had released it at end of 2009...I mean for me all of those features are not SO important.Waiting like now not worth it.Again we can see all those features in GT6.No delays - no probs...

Sony said to expect to hear more announcements about other titles going 3D soon. It's worth pointing out that Gran Turismo 5 may be set for release this summer if Sony is already highlighting the game as one of its big 3D titles for when the firmware update goes live.

Did you see the update info though? Last sentence: "We apologize for the erroneous inference that 3D versions of LBP, Wipeout HD, Killzone 2, Gran Turismo 5 or Super Stardust HD are in production."

and then this?:

I just think Sony are onto a loser with this 3D stuff...

I mean, how many people, of the estimated ~10million GT5 buyers are actually going to use the 3D function?

I have my doubts as to whether this is the sole cause of the delay, but I do think it is a bit worthless, don't you think?

I know it has been discussed to death already, but I just can't see what Sony's angle is on this.
