What does the gamespot article mean by ps3 graphics shader, and where are these standard models?

Why haven't we seen one in the 4 years this game has been in development, if there is so much of them(800+) where are they.

Sounds like we might get the final vehicle and track lists at GameCon, as well. But from what it sounds like, the car list is going to be Everything from GT1, 2, 3, 4, GTHD, GT5P and GTPSP plus a few more.

But does that mean companies like Vector Aeromotive will reappear?

Doubtful. There's a lot more that goes into each car these days, and Vector was shady as is back in GT2 times. Trying to find a clean, unmolested example to put into the game would probably be too much work for what is a questionable product anyways. It's the same for Venturi. Notice that the only dead brands that consistently return are the ones that have larger parent companies.

Actually, I wonder if Lister will actually return this time around...

(Edit): And yes, I realize Venturi isn't technically dead, but it's a whole new company. I'm not even going to count Weigert's newest project as anything other than vaporware.

I don't understand why the lack of a release date for anywhere but US.

Racism to the Max.

    !!!!!!!

Just cuz they announced our release date first, doesnt mean ours will be released first!

We probably just bitched more, so they threw us a tootsie roll.

So, just because I don't live in the USA.

I don not get a release date, and I don't get the game until after you guys?

How is that not racism?

I am surprised he never released it in Japan first, at least 6 months before any where else.

Lucky the game is on PS3, if it was on Xbox or PC, I would of found other means of getting it.

I do not agree with some countries getting it before anyone sel either because there favoured by the market or they whinge better than I.

Worry not, they will probably re-confirm after E3 the US is getting the game Nov 2, the rest of the world is getting it next month :P

E3 is a US show......so they announce a US release date.

Just like last years TGS (A Japaneese show)......announced a Japaneese release date. (granted one they didn't stick to.)

If your looking for a European release date then perhaps look for a European show to announce it.

Why would you expect a European release date to be announced at a US gamer show?

Game is not completed until late August.

I'm Australian, European release dates won't mean a thing.

You probably have seen one as they will likely look near identical to a premium model from the outside.

20M people in Australia right?

That's Canada alone, + ~300M for the US + ~600M Latin America.

Are they trying to win favours or make money? If it's the latter it should be no surprise why NA has a release date.

Previous GT's have all been released in Japan first.

American is not a 'race', as it is made up of many races. You're misusing the word racism.

If I'm not mistaken EU is the largest market, not NA. Plus, the whining has been global and not just NA.

If a standard model was shown the standard/premium discussion would have been over with a long time ago. We would have been all over it if we had seen one.

There has been no car that has not had a cockpit view in the 5 years since announcement bar a special occasion (GT-R proto). :)

Pretty Ignorant thing to say 👎. Learn what words mean before you use them. It makes you sound unintelligent.

2 shows left on the preview tour, EU (Gamescom) and Japan (TGS) Everyone will get a date.

Previous GT's have all been released in Japan first.

1) Europe is the area where GT has sold the most.

2) Australia comes under the PAL territory, controlled by Sony Europe.

3) E3 is in LA, which is in the US. That is the reason why they announced the US release date.

For those worried/concerned/feeling discriminated/whatever, the Japanese date is officially some time in November too:

http://www.gran-turismo.com/jp/news/d9382.html

So looks like it will be an (almost) worldwide release.

At the moment it is:

US: 11/02/2010
EU: 11/2010
JP: 11/2010

There is no exact date for Europe/PAL or Japan. But they are both scheduled for a November release. I actually think this is the closest GT will have ever come to a worldwide release (For a full game).

Your assuming the cockpit view is the differnce between premium and standard cars.

As I said in another thread by the definition of premium models the cars in GT5P can't be classed as such.

They don't feature fully detailed interiors, engine detail, under car detail or detachable panels yet they still do have cockpits.

Then why is everybody in such an uproar over it, why can't they say all cars have a cockpit view but no engine modeled etc.. :scared:

I will elaborate..

the term "racial discrimination" shall mean any distinction, exclusion, restriction or preference based on race, colour, descent, or national or ethnic origin which has the purpose or effect of nullifying or impairing the recognition, enjoyment or exercise, on an equal footing, of human rights and fundamental freedoms in the political, economic, social, cultural or any other field of public life. I should of added the Discrimination part hey.

So does that make Turn 10 racist for releasing Forza 3 in Japan first before America? Game companies do this all the time, its not as if this is the first time this has happened so stop with the racist accusation already.

BTW, that definition contradicts your point because your home country hasn't been excluded from getting a copy AT ALL.

Well yes it puts turn 10 in same vote.

It does not contradicts at all, it is like 2 people going for a job, if one is put on bottom of list due to being Asian and not Australian, that is racism, he can still be considered for the job, but not until last.

You can't be serious. Your Asian/Australian example is racism but it's a flawed analogy. Do you really believe that PD and Sony decided that the people of NA are better and more worthy so should be given GT5 before everyone else?!

I think I'm done responding to your posts. You have clearly made up your mind that PD is judging Australians as inferior to Americans...for a video game release.... and no one is going to convince you otherwise.

Dude, just drop it already. This is no different than it's been done in the past.
